We were a party of 7 today for lunch without a reservation. The hostess rearranged tables to be able to seat us on low tables for my elderly mother. The service was quick and friendly. 3 relatives decided to join us and they were able to seat them next to us. The food came out quickly and everyone was happy with there meals. We thought the prices were very reasonable. We were visiting from Connecticut where prices continue to climb. I would highly recommend a stop here for a scenic lunch. read more

The building is very nice with a beautiful view of the lake. Unfortunately, the service and quality of food and drinks were mediocre. My drink arrived with a bug floating in it, and my replacement drink didn't arrive until after our appetizer was gone and we were mid-way through our meal. There were no apologies nor was the drink comped. The entrees were lacking flavor and seasoning and the steak required sawing through due to the tough texture. For a $30 entree, this was a huge miss. Maybe the pub food is better, but I won't be in any rush to go back and try it. read more

1st time there, I'll be going back soon! I had the Caribbean Tuna sandwich - it was outstanding. Beautiful piece of seared tuna, with a pineapple salsa that was superb, on a really good roll, plus I ordered sweet potato fries that were wonderful. My friend had two appetizers - peal your own shrimp and a cup of clam chowder. She loved both of them, she loved the clam chowder so much she ordered a second cup to go to enjoy later. The staff were excellent, waitress was great, wait times were minimal. We ate outside on the second floor balcony which has a roof over it, nice view of the lake. It was a great value. Good: beautiful restaurant on the lake. What's not to like being at a lake side restaurant having a meal? Food - Mid I think it could have been much better. We got the chicken sandwiches and questioned for a good 30 seconds if we were going to send them back. It had a hot honey drizzle which in theory is great, however it seemed like it was put on before frying vs after and those sugars just burnt the chicken. Overall - maybe give something else a go regarding your meal, but it is great for a snack and a drink. read more

Just don't bother unless you are stopping in for nothing more than a quick drink and to admire the views and the building. The staff is friendly but undertrained. The phrase i heard the waitstaff use most often to us and tables around us was "sorry about that." I ordered soup and salad, my husband a chicken breast sandwich. the chicken was very tough and my husband didn't finish it. My salad was cute (spiraled veggies), but after a long wait i needed to ask about the missing soup. ("Sorry about that."). A long wait for our beverages, i'm guessing the kitchen is understaffed. Fingers crossed that a professional restaurateur takes over this operation and turns it into a place you'd go for a memorable meal. Horrible establishment! We went for dinner New Years Eve and the service was extremely slow, with no checking in throughout the meal, and the food was very over cooked. It wasn't busy, but we gave it a pass due to the holiday. We went again today and had a terrible experience. We sat at the bar and a blond haired young waitress kept passing us loudly complaining about other customers and having to use the stairs. She then kept coming up to the bar/serving station multiple times loudly complaining about her job and other customers to the point we as well as other staff and patrons were very uncomfortable. It completely ruined our experience and when we politely asked her to stop complaining she lit into us about the stressful day she had. Management didn't care and the staff was extremely unprofessional and rude. We will never return! Food and service are terrible! read more

The clams were very small, but the sauce it came with was good. The wings were very dry/ over cooked and not much meat on them. The ranch was milky/watery. Would not order again. While we were sitting here a man across the bar ordered the shrimp corn dogs and they were served frozen, twice. Our drinks, we ordered a Paloma and a drink with sweetish fish. We made reservations for 11 AM weeks prior when we got there they told us that our reservation was for 1 PM. They were able to see us which was good however, the food was terrible. It was a party of and none of us enjoyed our meal. We left hungry and disappointed. The chef did come out to try and make sure that we were satisfied, but you know avail. all of us ended up getting sick from our meal. We also saw a humongous rat in the parking lot as we were eating our meal which was the highlight of our experience. read more

Evidently, this restaurant had only been open for about a month, but they seem to have ironed out all the kinks experienced at opening. Good ambience. Reservations are required, so I'm glad some friends had let us know that head of time. Our server was wonderful. She acknowledged that it was our anniversary and hubbie's bday as soon as we sat down. Local beer was good and my extra-dirty martini was perfectly made. We had steamed clams for an appetizer (since no option for mussels, which are my favorite) and for dinner I had the salmon and cous cous and Bill had steak frittes. Both were delicious. We went to meet our in laws on Tuesday night. The restaurant is beautiful. The reason for the 3 star rating are twofold. We arrived at 6:00 to a 1/2 full restaurant. We did not have reservations so they told us we had to eat at the bar. After ordering a round of drinks we were told we could not order off the dinner menu. We only had 4 choices for food. We ate basic burgers and fish and chips. When we left the restaurant was still only 1/2 full. We should have been told before we sat that our choices were limited. We also could have been offered a table when it was clear the restaurant was not going to be full. Average food. Less than average service. read more

This place has a serious staffing problem. Stopped in for lunch on Friday a bit after 1:00 pm and was not made to feel welcomed by the host. She was not pleasant and was indignant about me not having a reservation, despite multiple tables and almost every seat at the bar being open. After being seated, I was completely ignored. The bartender, who was ten feet behind me, appeared to be prepared for a GQ fashion shoot but was not prepared to offer me an ounce of hospitality. Wow, with all the bad reviews we were putting off coming here. We ended up having one of the best lunches we have had in a while. The staff were delightful! I have a severe food allergy and and when I asked the waitress if that particular ingredient was used in any of their food she went and checked with the manager. The waitress told me they do not use that and the chef came out personally himself to tell me it was all good. That's going above and beyond in my opinion! The fish and chips were delicious as well as the island burger and clam chowder. We will definitely return often, it's a great place and you won't be disappointed! read more

Went there with a group of 8 the first week they opened. The food was good. We were inside and it's super loud with bad acoustics. I would recommend outside if loud areas are not your thing. They now require resys and if more than 6 in your party you need to speak to a manager. When calling make sure you are one of the first 150 calls that day, because we were told 'we got 150 calls today' in response to our remark that we called but no one answered as we were told no room that night. My mom called to ask them if we could make a take out order. It's a new restaurant so naturally we thought we'd ask. The website says there's an online order system but it goes to a 404 and it says it's a casual eatery. So we called, ready to learn. My mom asked, "I'd like to make a takeout order, can I do that?" The man replied, "Sure we can do that, can you hold please?' So far normal stuff. We're all smiles. But then my mother is on hold for 10 minutes. At that point, curious, I called with another number and asked if I could make a takeout order, this time it was a young woman. A long pause and then, "...We don't really do that". Meanwhile my mom is still on hold on the other line. I say, "ok thank you" and I hang up. ... and my mom is still on hold on the other line. They just left her there. She waited to see if they'd ever respond. They didn't. She would've waited longer had I not called. I felt bad for checking a queue but here we are. They never took her off hold, she finally hung up wondering if they would've said anything or discussed it with her. We were really disappointed being treated that way, we'd been looking forward to this restaurant. July 31st, Thursday around 3 p.m. for reference. I hope you have better luck than we did. The food was good but the indoor dining area is so loud it's hard to have a conversation. Even without a full house the acoustics make it hard to hear the person right next to you. And don't order a soda refill. They charge for it. We got sodas halfed filled with ice and paid $24 for soda ($24!!!) since each of us got three refills. We weren't told we would be charged. First time visitors, we've wanted to try it for a while now. Very disappointed. Sat at the upstairs bar. Nice view. Pub menu looked good. Ordered the steamed clams. Clams were cold, broth was warm, break was burnt. I asked the bartender if the clams were freshly steamed, she didn't know but checked. No, they are frozen and just heated up! Horrible for the price we paid. Description in the menu says they are steamed and sounded great. We were nervous to order anything else as it seemed all of the other items would have been frozen too. If they can't steam clams I can't imagine other things being fresh. I don't think we'll be back. Bummed. read more

We were informed there were already people upstairs sitting outside and our only option was to eat on the first floor inside. Weasley to sit outside on the main floor because they have outdoor seating there and were told no, only inside seating. When we asked why the hostess said it wasn't a matter of available outside seating it had to do with the waitstaff. We were told we needed to wait "over a week" by the host for two people to come eat here for late lunch/early dinner on a Saturday and that if there was room at the bar upstairs we could sit there but would only have access to a limited menu. We were anxious for this new Sandbar Restaurant to open as we enjoyed the old one so much. Recently we had a dinner and a lunch there with friends. For my bar drink I ordered a classic Margarita. The server asked if I'd like salt or sugar on the rim. For a moment, I thought she was kidding. I asked, 'Sugar? I've never heard of that on a Margarita glass. Salt, please.' The salt was the best thing about the drink. It came in a large, tall glass and was obviously made with a powdered mix--no fresh lime juice and very little tequila. Basically, no taste. The peel and eat shrimp were good enough but small. One of our friends said the fried chicken sandwich was too spicy. The crabcakes were acceptable but bland. The next week for lunch, the gazpacho was acceptable except for a medium-sized tomato that hadn't been cut into chunks. My friend said the clam chowder was terrible, served lukewarm, and the clam taste was muted by too much thyme. The Caesar salad was awful--small with some wilted lettuce with black edges. The menu said it had a Caesar dressing on it, but there was no trace of it on mine. Our friend had to ask for some more dressing on the side part way through the meal. The croutons were too large for the size of the salad. The iced tea looked like rusty water and was watered down so much it had no taste. There were no complaints concerning the staff. They were friendly and efficient. If you plan to enjoy talking with friends or family over a meal, it is strongly suggested you not dine downstairs. It is so noisy--there are no sound baffles or sound-absorbing décor--you can't hear the people at your own table. It will be several months before we try them again. Meanwhile, I hope management takes to heart some of the comments I've read here and do something to correct the deficiencies mentioned...noise, watered-down drinks, fresher produce, and serving food at the proper temperature. We also found the prices were on the high side for the quality and size of the meals. read more

Food was good and the prices and views also ....but the noise level was really loud...if you have groups near your table you'll need to shout to one another and that's not so good or relaxing...maybe try one of the 2 bars which are 1st come , but people not so close together...outside would be a good but it's hard to know what the weather will be when making reservations days ahead.
