The Stone Corral has a great atmosphere and a great beer and drink selection. The food menu offers a diverse selection and was a highlight of our visit. The quality is definitely there. The disappointing part of our experience was the service. We ordered two appetizers that never came to our table. Our server never actually returned to our table after taking our order. We never had the opportunity to check on our appetizers or had the chance to order additional beers and cocktails. A different server did finally come to our table to check on us and he was very attentive. He removed the appetizers from the bill right away and brought us our check. The good food and drinks made the lack of service tolerable but from a business standpoint this establishment lost additional revenue from the lack of attention to detail when placing the order and failing to get additional alcoholic beverage orders. This also resulted in the minimum tip rather than the generous tipping I typically give good service. I would visit the Stone Corral again to see if this was a one-off experience. read more

We went last night. Beer is good. BLT was burnt to a crisp. We asked the waiter about it and they said "Yeah the kitchen isn't very good". My kid had the kid nachos. Also burnt. Tacos are okay. Priced a little high for 3 medium size tacos on a plate with nothing else. A small side of refried or salad would go a long way here. My husband and I visited Stone Corral last Thursday afternoon (10/15) with some friends and had a great time. They allow you to pick 4 beers for a customized flight. We had the Strawberry Rhubab Gose, Blueberry Bramble Sour (my favorite - just the right amount of sweet and sour), Big Jake Belgian ale, and the Bad Rooster IPA. All four were good. My husband also tried the Oktoberfest which was deliciously seasonal. COVID: All staff are wearing masks and wiping down tables after each use. The outdoor picnic table setup was great - well spaced out and each table easily had room for 6 adults. They recently introduced QR Codes ti access the menus which was a nice touch. read more

WOW! I have never been so satisfied while also wanting to stay and order everything else on the menu. Table started with the buffalo boo yah nachos.. drool alert, so spicy and hot and delish. I got the icky sticky chicky tacos and lemme tell you, those boys were down the hatch in two minutes flat, didn't even give myself time to breathe in between. My companions had the baby kale caesar, very munch and crunchy, the ole reliable burrito (a bite or two reminded me of warm chili on a cold winter day), and the stone corral burger which tasted like a memory. Food Comes out Fast...on Plastic Plates! Food was shockingly overpriced and very low value, even for a bar. Drinks were just ok. The shrimp tacos were especially sweet and came in stale tortillas. Pretzel bites came in a pool of grease, salsa and chips were obviously store bought. Feels like someone in the kitchen needs to take the latest Gordon Ramsey MasterClass - or just learn what the word "quality" means. It's just loud enough to manage a conversation with a couple people. Overhead lighting is abrupt and at points changes from LEDs to energy efficient halogen bulbs with mismatched Kelvin temperatures. This is what happens when restaurants that shouldn't have survived Covid-19 continue on. Unfortunate and low quality output. read more

A great family lunch today! My husband and I each got a flight, and our son with a Maine Root Beer. All of the beers were delicious, it was our first time (aside from Bramble we have never had their beers until today!!) and we very much enjoyed! We all took turns picking at each other's plates, and everything was delicious. Staff is attentive, pleasant, helpful with suggestions and their COVID precautions are taken seriously. We ate here tonight with some friends. I ordered a "regular" baby kale Caesar salad to go with my tacos. I was shocked when I got a very large plate of greens and told the waitress that I had just wanted a salad to go with my tacos. She stated that I had asked for a regular salad (my assumption was the $9 rather than the $17), that this was a "regular" salad, shrugged and walked away. I decided that I wasn't going to argue with her since I could take the uneaten portion home. However, I have to say that what I paid $17 for was completely unacceptable. A plate of baby kale (probably 1/2 a bag which would be about $3.00 max), with a sprinkling of parmesan cheese and bread crumbs with little to no dressing. I prefer dark ales, and what I had here are some of the best. That much has been consistent over the years. But I was greatly disappointed with the signature burger. What used to be one of my top choices in Vermont, that is, a burger that didn't require ketchup for flavor, was no longer to be had. This was no better than a boring diner offering. The dressed side greens were the same as before, thankfully, as I used them for flavor. I tipped as usual because the barstaff was great while the unfortunate food wasn't their fault. What gives, S.C.? I don't want to give up on a favorite, especially in my hometown, but... I USED to be a sort-of-regular even during Covid restrictions. read more

I will start with the food was good. I made a reservation and liked that I was able to pick the type of table I wanted. When we got there, we were directed to a table and I sat where I had picked from the reservation site. I was told we were actually at a different table. I was confused and mentioned I had chosen that table in my reservation and was told it was fine and we could sit there. A little strange to have you pick a table but ignore that. I was out with two other moms. We hadn't been out since before COVID. We ordered drinks, appetizers, more drinks and dinner. Two of us still had drinks left when the host walked over and asked us to wrap it up because people were waiting for our table. Mind you, there was an empty table behind us and multiple empty tables outside. We were so taken aback that we got up and left the rest of our overpriced drinks. Apparently if you examine closely the fine print of a reservation, they have a time limit. Feedback from me would be to notify guests upon seating of this time limit, speed up service and don't offer appetizers, dinners and desserts for a 75 minute window. read more

Firstly: I love live music. However- if you are going to visit Stone Corral on an evening where they have live music, do not expect to be able to carry on a conversation, unless you go early and leave before 7 pm when the music begins. I went there with a large group of friends hoping to have some time to chat and catch up. Unfortunately we were seated DIRECTLY in front of the band, which was incredibly loud for such a small space and made any conversation impossible. I asked to be switched to a table farther away from the band but due to our size it was not possible- I'm not sure why they chose to seat us there? Food is decent, beer is good. Service was good. Not a place to go on a live music night unless you only intend to hang out and listen to music. This is what I expect when I go to a show, but for a restaurant setting I think the volume is excessive and it's not meant to be "show venue" volume. Nobody wants to scream at their companions while eating dinner. read more

We dined as a party of 4 at 8:00 on a Thursday. The appetizer nachos' portion and flavor was pretty good, but the chips seeped like they could have been from a bag of Tostito's. The beer I had (Bramble blackberry sour) was so-so. There is no fryer on location, so they do not serve fries. Their default side is a spring garden salad with vinaigrette. While ordering, our waitress informed us they had run out of brioche buns for their burger/sandwich options, so our burgers came on slices of sourdough. The burger was really greasy and weak on the cheese which is funny because it's in Vermont. Our server charged us for a whole extra plate of food. On top of that there is an automatic 5% added to all bills. read more

My first place out since March. I saw rainbows and shooting stars as the mask and glove clad waiter took us to our socially distanced bench and provided us with hand sanitizer. The beer tasted extra hoppy and delicious and the food tantalized the taste buds. In all seriousness y'all, excellent beer, great food. Get yourself over here and enjoy it. Dogs allowed on patio. What a perfect place to go after a ride in the hills! I knew I was going to be ok when I saw all the mountain bikes in the parking lot...even though I'm a roadie. Not a huge menu, but I was easily able to find something non-meat. The bartender made a great call on the Framboise beer to start and from there I went to the black bean burger with a side of sweet potato wedges. Notice in the picture the wedges...an actual sweet potato cut up. Go figure. I believe it was also taco night, so I'd like to come back sometime and try the meat options. Many beers to choose from and all the bar staff was friendly. Stop in. I've already recommended it to one of the guys on the ride who said he'd been there for beer, but not the food. Last night my husband and I celebrated our 16th Anniversary. We chose the perfect place and setting. We even got up and danced, your music selection is spot on for your restaurant. Our server Aaron was so nice, we loved his positive energy, so down to earth and a bit funny, you can tell that he loves his job. He told us he has been there for about two years loves it. We can't wait to come back!! The food was amazing!! We started off with the sweet potato wedges and the butternut squash soup, my husband said it was the best soup he has had and he even posted it on FB in the To Go Tour page. I had the The Pickleback Pig sandwich and he had the Buffalo Bacon Boo-Yah Nachos. Our food palette's were in absolute heaven!! Everything was so delicious. We are so fortunate to live in such a small community where we felt like we had been visiting your restaurant for years so thank you for making us feel at home and it made our anniversary perfect.
