This flea market, held both outdoors and indoors, is always well stocked with all kinds of treasures with prices that really can't be beat. It was jam packed with people today but wonderfully manned by lots of volunteer staff who helped things run smoothly and seamlessly. We got loads of neat stuff. Some of the items I got were gorgeous vintage blue Willow ware dishes. I also got a platter made by Edwin Knowles (1869-1943). The original site of the Knowles company was Chester Virginia so this is vintage Americana. There are many collectors of Knowles china which ceased production in 1962 leaving a legacy of many desirable patterns. The one I scored today is fairly rare so this was a great find. I also got a vintage deviled egg plate from Italy probably made in the 1960s. My husband left with a couple of boxes of finds although other than some 1960s Danish stainless steel pieces I'm still not sure what he bought. We spent a fun couple of hours there this morning. It's still going on through the rest of this afternoon and all day tomorrow. If you miss it, mark your calendars for this time next year or check in with the Scituate Animal Shelter for the exact dates for 2014. Great finds, good prices and all for a most excellent cause. And even when there isn't a flea market, consider a donation to the shelter or better yet go adopt your next animal friend there. He or she is surely waiting for you.

Great prices friendly service Knowlegable owners. We just bought 3 nice opals today among some other crystals. The opals didn't make it in the bag. I called the shop when I realized& they had the opals still set aside. She apologized for missing them.. but offered to send them to my adress for free so that I could avoid the drive back. Credit she said also could be refunded by phone right then but I had paid cash and still wanted them. Mistakes happen but great customer service and terrific prices keep us coming back.

Swansea Flea Market is an indoor flea market with individual vendors. Unlike other indoor flea markets that i have frequented, this one actually has a decent amount of antiquities. But of course, there are still vendors that sell tools, jewelry and electronics. And best of all, you can get yo ' haggle on', and bargain. With your box of 2 dozen Dunkies donut holes, peruse through and look for that diamond in the rough; just lick of all that powdered sugar and jelly before you go puttin' your slimy meat claws on precious merchandise. And if you happen to spot Homegirl there, give me a wink and i'll give you a squirt of antibacterial. Then our clean hands can embrace as we sort through milk crates of mildew scented treasures.
