I had good experiences with this place until today when I brought my to have her nails Dremeled and a woman who I have not seen there before who was probably roughly in her 40s thin with blonde hair took her into the back by herself put her into a harness and was about to cut her nails when I had specifically told my dogs needs to be held by one person and the other person needs to dremel her nails or she will freak out because she's had bad experiences. I knocked on the window which you are not supposed to do because I wanted her to stop . I said if you can't accommodate me today, I can return another day. And I again reiterated the only way that my dog feels safe. She brought her into the back and again tethered and had someone hold her while she was on the table being tethered and started to cut her nails with a clipper. I heard my dog screaming. I opened the door and I said please stop. I will bring her another day (but obviously I will never go back there). As I was leaving she slammed the door behind me. Very disrespectful and rude and totally ignored what is best for my pet. When you leave your dog in the hands of a stranger, there is no telling how your loved one will be treated ,so this is a warning because if they can hire someone like this who totally disregards your dogs needs, is this the place you want to take your dog? When I told her my dog was freaking out she said no she isn't. I said her tail is on her abdomen up between her legs how can you say that she's not stressed out? She was unaware of the signs of a scared stressed dog. read more

ALWAYS do a great job. Never come home shaved, cut, bleeding and/or traumatized! While this may not seem important our experience with other groomers in the area - well not so good! Being new to Palm Harbor we are so pleased to have found Sandy Paw. Both of our pups are easy keepers, very agreeable and sweet. So it hasn't been our dogs but impatient groomers. The groomers are so awesome with our pups! Our little one kept running back to visit the gals. Like they have text reminders and keep you posted on any progress. When we did a summer cut on our doodle, the groom was beautifully done. I've seen other dogs and heard of others that are not as fortunate at other groomers, even to nick certain areas. SP skill set sealed the deal, we will not go anywhere else. We recommend Sandy Paw for all CB/PH pups...but don't get too busy, love the flexibility SP has to meet our scheduling needs. read more

After having a bad experience elsewhere that left our poor pup in fear of having his nails done we were searching for the perfect groomer. Deela has been able to work with our little guy over the last year to get over his fears with almost no issues at all. Deela is fantastic, she's patient and kind. We started seeing Deela when she was still part of the Day and Evening Pet Hospital and would have followed her anywhere she moved but thankfully it was just across the street :) Our next appointment is tomorrow and Lando can't wait to see his friend, Deela! read more

I've taken our dog there numerous times. The last two visit have not been a great experience. First I had to move my appt (w 2 days notice so well within their 24 hr policy) and when I went to drop my dog off at the newly schedule appt I was informed we didn't have an appt scheduled and they couldn't do it that day. Ok let's get another appt as soon as you have an opening - no big deal. On pick up I was charged $20 for a missed appt plus did not receive the $5 discount for scheduling next appointment at pick up (which I have been doing since we started). Not to mention they raised the prices sometime in between the monthly appointments w no mention to anyone. I again scheduled our next grooming and upon pick up last week I was charged the full price again. Was there some sort of management or staff change over the last few months? What an awful costumers service! They gave my dog a really nice haircut though... As a first time costumer I arrived yesterday to my puppy's appointment and told by the receptionist that I'm late! I never late! I told her that the appointment made for us is for that time exactly but she kept accusing me for being late! She told me she have 10 other dogs for today and I can reschedule for tomorrow or leave my dog there but she doesn't know when she will be done with her and she would be the last dog to get a haircut for that day. Her attitude was inappropriate! But I'm a good person and even with this bad first impression I made another appointment to give them second chance. Today when my husband went to pickup our puppy he got dogs hair all over him- my dog is a Yorkie and doesn't shade! That's never ever happened to us- when we were trying to understand why our dog covered with dog hair after she should be bathed they told us they first wash her (because they don't want to cut dirty fur- I wash her every week!!!!) and then do the haircut and they would put a NOTE next time to blow dryer her after the haircut... Seriously?! They put her harness the opposite way not taking care of how uncomfortable this for my dog. So unprofessional! And that's not all! While in the phone I asked them how much they charge for small dog grooming I was told 50$. When my husband was about to pay they want to charge him 60$ and argued with him they never give prices thru the phone. He gave her 60$ after he called me to make sure I told him that's 50$. She took the 60$ and she walked away to the back then he asked for 10$ back but she said she don't have change because she didn't had time to go the bank and gave him 7$ back after he was determined to have his change back! They did apologize yesterday on the phone after I was shocked feeling like an unwanted costumer but same today the bad costumer service was keep on going... read more

Our groomer moved from the vets office across the street to her own spa I don't know her name but she is the sweetest person and she treats the dogs so gentle and comforting. Cody only lets her clip his nails. Her rates are reasonable as well read more

This is my first time here and I am quite pleased with the service my dog received. Her hair cut looks great and she seems very happy which is rare since a previous place I took her she was very anxious afterwards. Her fur is amazingly soft and she smells great! Not only do I love the folks at Sandy Paw, so does my 114 pound pup (and she's not too happy about getting a bath)! Whether Daisy visits for a Dirty Dog bath or just to have her nails trimmed, she is treated like a princess.
