There is a path that leads from just outside the property down to Avon; 2.5 miles down and 600' plus in elevation change back up! With Covid restrictions in place, we enjoyed the hot tub and pool to ourselves one afternoon. The room was quiet, nicely furnished, and had amazing views of the mountain. Covered parking under the hotel completed the arrangements, and we even were able to see a couple of deer browsing at the base of one of the ski lifts that runs adjacent to the property. The only downside was our door wouldn't latch properly, and the maintenance had gone home for the evening, so that made it tough to believe our belongings were secure in the room. For meals we found better deals by driving down to Avon with a more relaxed vibe.

Because of the numerous fires in the vicinity (not their fault), it was necessary to keep all doors and windows closed and they learned then there was NO AIR-CONDITIONING in unit 304. Either the owners were too cheap to have it installed or it was broken, but the rooms were sweltering. The front desk (Hunter) claimed he couldn't do anything about it and when my son and his pregnant wife said they had to leave early do to the heat of the rooms and opening the windows filled the unit with smoke, they claimed there would be NO REFUND FOR THE NIGHTS NOT USED!! This new management company - VAIL MGT should be ashamed of their customer service and lack of information provided concerning units they rent. We'll be addressing this with the BBB shortly unless VAIL MANAGEMENT follows up with me in the very near future. If VAIL MANAGEMENT makes good on these charges, I will be happy to post a retraction. The apartment 211 is a complete disappointment and a very low-bar offer by the Vail Resort Rentals: old old old, smell like old, the fridge makes a noise because it's from the 80s, stove and exhaust fan are also from the 80s, the bathrooms faucet, and shower are from the early 80s). The carpet is disgusting and the towels (stiff, small, and thin), pillows, and sheets lowest quality than from any Holiday Inn. This property could not be rented by Vail Resort Rentals, a company which supposedly provides good properties to rent,; instead, this property could simply be on Airbnb or vrbo, platforms that don't pretend to provide anything else than a means between landlord and tenants. For health issues, the smell is unbearable, trigging my husband's and my allergy. The smell is the non-negotiable item. Do yourself a favor, don't pay $999 per night here, don't trust the name this company used to inspire the customers, don't deal with "There's nothing we can do", "My manager has the day off today and tomorrow", "We've never had problems before", "I'll have the housekeeping take a look" (the housekeeping crew has a limit to what they are able to do in a 30+ year apartment). Instead, invest the exact same amount staying at The Marriot Vail Mountain Resort, a 5-star hotel for the same price. You will get what you want and the value your money worth. Most importantly, you will then enjoy your stay, be in a clean and healthy space, and be comfortable.

Because of its location there was no need to ever use the free bus that runs through the Village. It's practically in the center. One night our restaurant was a leisurely 10 minute walk, the next maybe half that. Our room on the 3rd floor had a small balcony that looked down the quaint street as well as a view of the mountains. The hotel itself looks as though it was transported from Germany. The hotel staff was very friendly and informative. The breakfast was good, with one morning serving made to order omelets. It has an outside hot tub as well as a pool. Very nice atmosphere and stay.

There is also an oxygen bar available for an additional cost. They do allow children under the age of 16, with adult supervision. There were a few kids in the pool so it's not an adult only area which is the only downfall.

My recent stay at Tivoli Lodge in Vail was unacceptable and far below the standards one expects from a property of this reputation and location. We checked in after a winter storm and were assigned room 403 on the fourth floor. The room was freezing, with a heating unit that did not function properly. After contacting the front desk, maintenance briefly attended to the issue, but the problem was not resolved. During the first night, the heat became excessive and uncontrollable. With a new and inexperienced front desk attendant on duty, and the likelihood that no maintenance staff would be available, we were forced to open the balcony door in winter conditions simply to make the room tolerable. During that same night, water began dripping/leaking from the ceiling. The following day, after returning from breakfast, the room had again become excessively hot. The thermostat still did not function. Maintenance was sent once more and noted they repaired it, but within minutes, significant water dripping leakage developed not just a minor drip, but a steady and concerning flow from the ceiling and wall framing in both the entry and bathroom areas. Our carpets were drenched our sock wet At that point, we had no choice but to demand a room change and were moved to room 405, , which was a much larger and nicer room. While the heating system there functioned properly, it still presented issues, including a broken closet handle another clear sign of poor upkeep. What made the situation worse was how it was handled. Housekeeping staff pressured us by their immediate presence to vacate quickly so the room could be reset, despite the hotel being nearly empty. This was unnecessary and inconsiderate. Shortly thereafter, a staff member returned and knocked aggressively on our door over a forgotten item. The manner was inappropriate and unprofessional. Although there were moments of professionalism particularly a mature front desk associate with a Caribbean accent who was pleasant, friendly, and helpful I would also like to recognize her more fully. She stood out as someone who was genuinely trying her best to be kind, attentive, and helpful under difficult circumstances. Her demeanor, patience, and willingness to assist were appreciated and reflected the level of service the hotel should consistently strive to provide. Unfortunately, the overall experience still reflected a lack of coordination, training, and accountability. In contrast, a late evening desk clerk was unable to provide even basic assistance in locating open dining options, citing unfamiliarity with the area. I understand that between-season periods can present operational challenges. However, if the resort is open, it should be fully prepared to serve and satisfy the guests it chooses to accommodate especially when occupancy is so low. We did not create these problems the hotel did. Yet at no point did we receive a strong or meaningful apology, nor any gesture to help ameliorate the situation. Both are not only appropriate but expected under these circumstances. As a result of these ongoing issues, we made the decision to leave on Thursday instead of Friday, as we felt it was simply not worth extending our stay to the schedule day. This only compounded our disappointment it was a choice we made based on our experience. I would also strongly suggest that management exercise better judgment when the hotel is operating at very low occupancy. In such circumstances, guests should be proactively upgraded to the best available rooms rather than being assigned rooms with known or even obvious deficiencies. This experience reflects poorly on the management of Tivoli Lodge. A property that is largely empty has no excuse for assigning a defective room, failing to resolve repeated maintenance issues, and handling guest disruptions so poorly. Tivoli Lodge is a beautiful property with a great location, but this was a sad and disappointing experience. PD ...I would also like to note a truly positive experience during our stay at The Little Diner, a Vail institution well known for its accolades in both service and quality of food, delivered an outstanding breakfast experience.
