I guess there used to be some retail attractions on the main floor but it looks like they have all gone out of business except for a barber. Parking is underground which was really nice because it snowed a foot while we were here, and there was no problem getting to and from our car. The gondola is right across the street, which is super convenient, and there are a few bus routes that stop right at the corner. The library is on the other corner, as well as the rec center which has an awesome indoor pool with water slides. In all I think this is a great place to stay if you can get a good rate.

From the crew at the valet station, the concierge desk (who host daily après ski hot chocolate and fresh-baked cookie parties!), the housekeeping team, the ski valets, the spa attendants, and all of the wonderful F&B folks, the service here is impeccable. The hotel amenities include an elegant spa, well-equipped gym, pilates and yoga studios, heated salt water pool, and three infinity hot tubs that are perfect for après ski soaking. Of particular note, the Westin has updated its Ski Valet shop which offers faultless service for those availing themselves of the Beaver Creek Ski resort. The room was cozy yet spacious and created a warm, welcoming environment for our guests who traveled from all three coasts. We want to make particular mention of our hostess, Sonja Eichenberger. Sonja managed every aspect of our affair, ensuring every dimension of a large party was attended to the last detail. Sonja listened to the Bride's comments and discerned solutions that were both creative and thoughtful. We had several dignitaries in our party - two Senators, a US Attorney, and a Fox News commentator - and Sonja saw to it that consideration was made for both their privacy and security. Much of the success of our special event rests with Sonja. The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Avon is an exquisitely fashionable property but it is the staff that makes the experience special. During the pandemic I understand you have to temper your expectations but this hotel was crazy understaffed. Like one person at the front desk and one valet. That was it. We had to get our bags to and from the room. There apparently was a ski valet but the front desk gave us no clue how to locate it. They just didn't know. They didn't take our skis there. It was plain weird. The signs in the hotel say no skis in the rooms but we had no choice! No one could tell us where the ski valet was. It was located in a non descript door by Christy's. We found it on day two. Also, no one could tell us where the illustrious ski bridge was that supposedly makes the hotel ski in and ski out. We figured it out on our last day of skiing. I believe it is called the Creekside Trail or something. Note the hotel is only ski in. And you have take off your skis to cross a fairly busy road. There is no skiing out from the ski bridge. The room was bigger than usual so that was good. But if the staff can't provide basic information about the hotel, given how much Marriott charges for this hotel, I can't recommend. It's just ok. Might as well stay at the Best Western in Eagle for a fraction of the cost and drive in.

We had our rehearsal dinner on September 4th, Jeff has the audacity to call and text on my personal cell phone our first night at 11:00pm accusing of going over the occupant limit and having a dog. We have screenshots of our conversation prior to booking regarding how many people who will be present and our animal is ESA certified. Jeff is a property manager not the owner of the property, keep in mind, and was watching on game trail cameras invading privacy and causing an issue during our rehearsal dinner with family. He then threatened me that he will be driving down to the house to handle it himself and in return I told him he needs to chill the "f" out. Now the sorry old man only has the fact that I used a curse word towards him and still accusing us of going over our limit of people when we have provided proof of communication between his partner and my wife regarding the amount of people going to be present. We have issued all of this to Airbnb and will be receiving a refund due to not only this scenario, but the house being absolutely filthy with past guests clothes being left, dirty dishes in the cabinets and absolute immaturity and invasion of privacy throughout our stay.

He threatened us and our family and wanted to come to the property to "handle things his way". I have never felt more unsafe and uncomfortable and sad before our small elopement in the mountains. We would have never booked without prior consent to this as we did have. Let alone being threatened by Jeff. I will blast this all over every review page I can so no one else can experience this. Pictured below is confirmation on our end prior to booking. This company put the worst taste in our families mouth for our elopement weekend with again 14 people when the count is 12 for the home WITH PRIOR CONSENT. Let alone we had only 8 guest sleep in the home with the rest of our families in hotels. If you want a horrible experience or to be threatened then go ahead and book with Jeff. If not I would run FAR and FAST.

Staff has always been friendly and accommodating - be sure to ask the front desk for recommendations on places to eat and things to do around town. This year's stay was exceptionally relaxing as updates to the shared spaces were finished. We really enjoyed the modern new look of the lobby, table games, and updated fitness center - but the star of the show was definitely the pool area!
