They also offer a truck tour around the property, plus there's a playground area for the kids to enjoy. It does get pretty crowded, so I definitely recommend going early, but parking was plentiful. This also covers your parking for the zoo. Easy to redeem by going to Will Call. A short 2.5hr drive from Savannah, GA was well worth it! Staff was helpful for any questions. General admissions gets you access to the Zoo, Botanical Garden, Waterfall Junction, and Saluda Skyride. They do have additional experiences at an additional costs but not necessary if you are okay with missing out of the petting zoo, animal feedings, the carousel, train, and the Sky High Safari. A couple of food options are available such as burgers, chicken fingers, pizza, sandwiches/wraps, and Kona Ice. Meals are easily $20 per person if you are purchasing drinks. No outside food and drinks are permitted into the zoo but you can bring refillable water bottles. Picnic tables are available outside of the park and same-day re-entry is possible if you show your original receipt. We easily spent 5 hours at the zoo without any of the "Explore More" options. A full day at the zoo is very possible! Plenty of shade and things to see and do! Drop-off or 15-minute parking is available if you have someone in your party who may struggle with walking from the parking lot. If you really want to hear about it, Charles Towne Landing is one of those places that's crazy…read moreabout history and all that, but it's been around 1670. ​Right when you get there, they've got this big concrete sign with a metal ship carved onto it, just to make sure you know your have arrived. But once you walk past the entrance, the place opens up into these incredible, huge live oak trees forming a canopy over a dirt path. It looks like something that's been there forever, without anyone messing around, nature is the master. ​They've built these wooden boardwalks that stretch right out across the marshland and over the still, dark water. The water reflects the green trees so clearly it looks like a painting, though half the people pushing strollers across the bridge are too busy taking photos to even look at the trees. They've also got a statue standing in the woods of a Native American holding a club, just standing there among the bare trees, which gives the whole woods a quiet, sort of eerie vibe. Up near the water, you can even catch a glimpse of the tall wooden masts of that old replica sailing ship they keep docked there. ​It's actually a pretty good place to walk around if you want to get away from a bunch of phonies for an hour, provided you just stick to the boardwalks and watch the trees instead of listening to the tour guides.

Staff was very friendly and helpful when fielding our questions. They also enjoyed seeing the the history of SC through the years represented through artifacts and the changes from the colony, war, and industrialization of the city with mills and the railroad. They also have a planetarium and a 4D shows offered throughout the day. Highly recommend adding this to your itinerary if you are in the Columbia area!
