I've ordered some window treatments several months ago. After I made the order, there was approximately two months later when they told me that the order was discontinued. I went back and re- new order which I waited another two months to get when I finally came in the Draper was too long so they sent it back out to get re-cut. My experience with the Shade Store was nothing short of excellent. The design team was so professional and developed a host of potential, all that looked great. The hard choice was to pick one, which I did drawing upon their patience. The installation team was very skilled and meticulous. The customer service at this location was terrible. The sales person-Angela could care less about being bothered with me and my husband. She gave us very basic answers, threw 2 swatches and her business card and walked away like we didn't exist. She didn't ask us any details about our home to help us make a better decision. And if she would've stuck around for maybe another minute And acted like she cared I could've made an appointment with someone to come and measure. I was never given that chance she just left. Unbelievable I have never experienced such crappy customer service anywhere. FYI shade store in Roslyn, just because I only wanted shades for three windows at the time - if you would've stuck around you would've found out that I was looking for shaded for the entire house. Do yourself a favor skip the store in Roslyn. Go to the store on old country Road in Garden City. Erica didn't simply ask if the windows are east or west facing. She asked me to consider the way the shades would hang and explained the differing features and availability of different fabrics. Erica considered the visual impact of the space between the individual shades along the line of windows, as well as the ability for multiple shades to protect the room from the afternoon sun as it hit the NW angle, while helping me design the best layout for the 5 in line windows. In addition to skilled staff, The Shade Store shop is perfectly set up to allow you to see the products. The ability to go to a shop and see how the product looks, what the light does with the fabric, how the fabric looks when covering a window vs. a small sample, and how the hardware sits when installed made the buying process so much less stressful. I left the shop confident that the shades and fabric I selected were the right selection for my windows. The shades arrived at my home on time and undamaged. The installers showed up on time and perfectly installed the shades which were cut to the proper size and in the right fabric. I got the motorized shades and I highly recommend that feature ! The timer option is fantastic - I set the shades to come down as the afternoon sun hits the window. We installed wood blinds throughout our house from another company and realized they were not providing enough light blocking for the bedrooms-- totally our own fault. I came to the Shade Store not expecting to use them because I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg to put up a second set of window treatments. I had an excellent experience with Angela from start to finish. She was informative, not pushy at all, and extremely responsive. She actually went above and beyond getting my final window treatment overnighted to me so all could be installed at the same time. Came here with my 2 kids looking to buy blinds for our new home since I saw so many positive reviews. The woman who greeted us was very condescending- she stated that the store is by appointment only because of COVID (which was not stated anywhere online, so came as a surprise to us) but it was understandable. The way she went about it just rubbed me the wrong way. She wasn't welcoming and apologetic. She basically kicked us out. I got a very bad feeling from this woman, so unfortunately I won't be doing business with them. It's a shame for them too because our new house is 5 floors filled with floor to ceiling custom windows. They lost out on a lot of money from us. I needed shades for several rooms in my home and office and chose the Shade Store over others because I assumed their service would be better. It has been five months since I ordered simple wood slat blinds for one room (5 windows). First the measuring was done improperly so the shades did not fit. Then they had to be reordered but were out of stock. Then they sent only a partial shipment. Twice they told me my order was coming and to schedule installation and both times the order never came and the installation had to be cancelled. I have requested a refund of my order and have been waiting to hear from them for almost two weeks. They are just not together and the showroom/shipping/installation departments are not coordinated. I wish I had gone with a much less expensive alternative. The promise of quality and service was not realized. Save your money. read more

Not coming back. The salesperson, Robbie seemed like he just couldn't be bothered. He answered our questions with half hearted, perfunctory answers. Overall, he didn't show any interest in helping us, and looked like he would rather be somewhere else. Very disappointing experience. We were looking for new blinds for our entire house- three floors. They just lost our business due to their poor customer service. On the recommendation of a neighbor, we ended up going to Larry's Design Center. Our design consultant Erica Regueiro at the Roslyn location was superb! We needed ideas for the windows in our NYC apartment -- each room with different views and requirements. After reviewing our floor plan and listening to what our needs were, Erica provided excellent suggestions for roller shades in every room. To say Erica was patient and professional would be an understatement! She pulled many more swatches than we needed and recommended that we hold them up to the windows to gain a realistic view of the different levels of privacy/coverage they would offer. Once we selected the shades and designs we liked, Erica promptly provided us with a quote, answered our questions, and then scheduled our installation. The technician who installed our shades approximately 3 weeks later did a great job and took the time to explain how to program our motorized shades. A few days after our installation, we determined that a shorter metal cord on our kitchen roller shade would be preferable. Erica quickly arranged a service call for us, and another technician came to shorten the chain. Throughout the process, Erica consistently followed up with us to ensure that everything was being handled to our satisfaction.
