And so I move onto my second review of an Indian restaurant called The Shamraat, after my previous review of the one in Ormskirk.
Whether the two are related to one another or part of some kind of local franchise I don't know, but what I do know is that this one is easily one of the best curry houses in Southport at least.
The restaurant is somewhat hidden away down Stanley Street opposite the popular Fuego's but despite this is still popular with local residents. This is due to its extensive and varied menu that features all the usual Indian dishes you'd expect plus a decent range of house specialities, all of which can be washed down with a small selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The restaurant itself is pretty comfortable and casual and the staff there are attentive and friendly enough. The prices are a bit expensive when you add in all your extras, but it's reasonable enough for the area.
All in all, a very decent place to go if you fancy something hot and spicy that you might regret the morning after. read more
