Friendly people... but that's about as far as it goes. The price for 1 hour on the range is more than a month's membership at the gun club (CCPRC). There are often no lanes available, but they keep funneling people in. If / when you do get onto a lane, the target's never seem to be straight & some of the wires on the target movers hang down in your sight line. The longest lane you can get is about 55 yards and if there are more than 3 people there they turn the exhaust vents on which sucks out all the AC too so you sweat your ass off. read more

As far as shooting ranges go, I've seen worse, my biggest complaint is that they're so cheep they refuse to run the AC, which defeats the purpose of paying to use an indoor range. The range was so brutally hot that my shooting glasses fogged up a number of times. As for the staff, they aren't the friendliest people I've ever dealt with, but they're far from the worst. Pros: Convenient safe location Nice lanes No range Nazis Cons: Lack of AC which during the summer can make it unbearable to be in. read more

Grade A bunch of guys that run this place! Shot 3 hours worth of great time! Range is great for an indoor facility. All in all will be back. Rental guns are also super fun and quite accurate for being rentals. Retail side of the house is also nice and spacious. Once again. Will be back for sure!! read more

Stay away from this business. When a business promises something they should fulfill that promise instead of telling you lies just to get your busines. I took a 45 auto to them for a trigger job on a Saturday the 27th of December. I was told the gunsmith would not be in until Sunday the 28th of December. As it was the holiday season I asked if he could have it done on or before the next Wednesday which was the 31st of December. I was assured that it would be done. It is now the Friday the 2nd of January and still no action. I called them today (Friday the 2nd of January) and was told that the gun was not done and the gunsmith?? would not be in until the next Sunday. This means that I probably will not get the gun until the 5th of January. What a bunch of liars. I then told the person (Andy) that I was talking to that I may as well come over and pick up the gun and take it elsewhere. His smart ass comment was "Well that is an option." If these people think that they are the only people around that can do gunsmith work I have news for them. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. I don't even know where to begin with the customer service we received here. Eric was so patient and full of knowledge. He answered all of our questions. He went over the different guns we were thinking about purchasing more than once. He wanted to make sure all of our questions were answered and we were going to like the guns we purchased. I would avoid this place. They are very unsafe and DO NOT practice firearm safety. I felt as if I was going to get shot just being in the store. I had to leave immediately. Been going here for a while being a resident of Corpus my whole life. As far as product knowledge and gunsmith these are the guys to visit. Some of the workers are friendly some are assholes so dont wear your feelings on your sleeve. Firearms are overpriced (they do put a lifetime warranty on firearms purchased from them) but still overpriced. As far as the indoor gun range goes it gets the job done. Sometimes a little warm but hell is hotter for sure. The last 4 times I have been all the rifle ranges have been occupied. 5 handguns and 5 rifle lanes doesn't seem to be enough for being the only indoor gun range in Corpus. They desperately need to expand. read more

I am a retired PO and was a firearms instructor for many years, now retired. I would say my knowledge of guns is considerable. I say this not to brag, but to give you some perspective of me and my opinion. I have recently moved into the Corpus Christi area and was looking for a gun shop to do business with. When I went into Sharp Shooter I was impressed with the inventory which was extensive. As I was looking at guns in the case, I asked a salesperson how to tell which guns were used and which new. He advised it was on the tag attached to the gun. I asked to see a pistol marked new. As I inspected it, I found it was filthy dirty, looked like it had fired several hundred rounds at least. When I questioned him about this, he said it was new because it had never been sold to a private person. I might have been used on their range. I advised him that would have made it "used" in my opinion. He basically said I didn't know what I was talking about and argued that it was common practice. With 20 years a cop, 10 spent as range officer, 5 years as a gun sales person, and many years of general gun experience, I had never heard of such a practice. This was a gun they used as a rental for the range. God knows how many rounds had been fired through it. If you agree with his idea of "new gun" by all means go there. I also found there prices to be literally 25% higher than Modern Gun which is just a short distance away. I will not go there and be overcharged, belittled, and basically lied to. Shop there if you want. Just thought a word of warning was in order. read more

I never owned a gun before. I went in there to get one for my wife and I. They were very helpful and very informative and I really felt welcomed when I first went in. I would definitely recommend this company to a friend or anybody who is a first-time user or wants to get more information about guns. They also offer The LTC class every Saturday. read more

Not the cleanest indoor gun range in town, it can get hot on the range as well. The staff claim bump firing is OK, but if you do it, expect to have someone come give you some grief and possibly kick you out. They aren't exactly the friendliest, but they are usually pretty busy, maybe that's why. Their LTC class is actually really great, as are the instructors, I would recommend that. read more

Horrible place to shoot. Way overpriced. The range is not ventilated. Its like a sweat lodge. Too many stupid rules. NO HEAD SHOTS!!! Was yelled at me. I had a huge head grouping and a huge center mass grouping. I wasnt going to hit the clothes hanger used to hold up the target, Hello, just look at my target. If you dont want me too shoot the head, why do you sell me a target with a head??!! I'd much rather go to Starry's, at least you can feel a breeze read more

I paid over $2300 for an Anderson that they told me had the rf85 coating. They lied. Also when I first bought the rifle it did not have a feed ramp in it. It took them 7 months to fix this. So I paid that for a rifle worth roughly $1600 and even though I grossly overpaid I couldn't shoot it for almost a year. That's partially my fault for not doing my research and partially their fault for lying to me. Staff is friendly enough, buy I'll never buy a rifle there again and I would discourage anyone else from looking there. I'll change this review if anyone at sharp shooter wants to make it right with me. read more

I live 2 blocks from Sharpshooter. I went there looking for a Glock 21 Gen 3. I bought a SF. I did not really mind paying the $125 more than it would cost me at a couple of other places because of the convenience and having a range. The first thing that I noticed was that there was never the same help in there for over a month. But the worst was when I had a cartridge blow out. It broke the mag release and the magazine. They were very attentive to making sure that I was OK, and that I signed a release. Since I reminded them that I bought the gun there and that it was under the Davidson warrantee, they said that they didn't have the parts in stock, and that they would have them in ,in about a week, I have been waiting for 6 months and I still have not heard from them. Now when I go in they know nothing about it, I waited a month and ordered the parts that I needed from Lonewolf. I advise anyone to go anywhere else but Sharpshooter. You will save a lot of money and get much better service. And at least when you go back after spending $750 they will at least remember you when you go back in once a week. read more

Should've walked out from the get-go. When we were sign'n up to shot the phone rang so the sales person picked up the phone and began rolling his eyes and talking really rude to the customer on the phone. He then took his time talking to someone on the staff about how he wanted to go hunting with them before he finished helping us. This guy was beyond rude and unprofessional. Then to top it off, we are leaving the facility and the same sales person kept directing everyone to get in line cause they only had one registar open. This guy wanted us out so badly that he tried to stop another customer from shoping. This customer already had a lot of stuff he was gonna purchase. It became aparent that we weren't the only ones feeling mistreated when everyone else started to look at each other, even the staff, in disbelief. In short, the Houston gun shops are more professional and better priced. I'll never visit this place again and I plan on telling all my buddies about this bad experience. read more
