I absoulty love snow cones, especially lime. Where I am fron in Wisconsin the only time you can find snow cones is in the summer at the county or state fair. When I found the Shiver Shack online I made a 20 mile trip to go there. I was worth ever minute of the drive. The snow cones are are of a very fine shaved ice and the lime suryp was just the right amount of sweet and tart. The store was very clean and decorated in a nice beachy style. Will be back more than a few more times this season. read more

Hawaiian Shave Ice is the reason I stopped in and trust me when I say that's plenty enough justification to visit this cute little shop. The hot and humid July weather validatEd my decision and since I was in the area well it was the perfect opportunity to grab one of these delicious treats. I always struggle making the decision on what flavor to get - it's usually always tiger's blood which has always been one of my favorites but I decided to branch out a little and risk it a little, there are two cherry flavors black cherry and regular cherry I chose the latter and decided to kick it up a notch and add sour and lots of it - well I expected the brain freeze but the pucker effect was a little surprising I guess my taste buds don't have childhood memories but still remembers it's so delicious. We also opted for a safer choice, the strawberry, that too was delicious but a little too safe for me and a little boring in my opinion, but hey I'm not one to judge. Shave Ice is often referred to as Shaved Ice but it's distinctly different and you must have the right equipment to create this magical frozen snow before drenching it with these whimsical flavors. This little shop offers plenty of other novelties but for me it's an easy choice and a medium cup of shave ice will always do the trick, it's probably more than most will eat although it tough to put down, for a little extra you can upgrade to a large which is ginormous and could take some doing to complete the task. The staff here was very friendly and accommodating and offered up samples when I appeared to be a little indecisive. Some may say it's just flavored ice but once you taste this you'll know the difference and a regular snow-cone may cool you down but will never deliver this level of pleasure.. read more

Didn't expect this place to have great ice cream and have such a warm ambiance. The lady serving ice-cream was friendly and engaging, also she wasn't phased by our loud toddler. If you're in the area give them a try. I personally enjoyed a waffle cone. read more

After living in North Port for a year and passing the Shiver Shack almost daily, I'm surprised that I only just stopped in recently. A lot to choose from as far as flavors when it comes to snow cones, ice cream, floats, and milkshakes. They've also got pretzels, nachos, and hotdogs. I had a really hard time because the Dr. Pepper float was really calling my name, but decided on a delicious passion fruit snow cone with some sweet cream on top. Boyfriend had the mango and it was also really good. Reasonable pricing, the small snow cone which was a decent sized scoop, was I believe only $5. Due to Covid they are not allowing anyone inside, so you order at the window and wait. It did take a while for our cones to come out, in which we had to endure a screaming child having a tantrum while the parents did nothing (really fun). They were at the only table outside so we had to kind of awkwardly stand and wait. I wish there was a bit more seating, but I understand that space is limited. What a hidden little gem! Previously this was another Snocone place but they got new management and a new name. All the flavors sound so good it's hard to pick just three! The snocones are huge and such a good way to cool off after a hot Florida day. They also have some snacks and beverages which I didn't have but everything seems fresh to order. Make sure to stop by and have a Snocone! Try the butter beer and marshmallow sauce -- it's tastes like it's straight out of Hogwarts! read more

I LOVE this place! I cannot say enough great things about the snocones at the Shiver Shack! The team is always super friendly! They have a TON of flavors to choose from. The snow cone I had was delicious. They were really slow though. There was only one person working in the back when there was a line. Showed up at 6:30PM today 12/6 to get ice cream for my family and they were closed even though it says they are open till 9pm! All the lights were on and it looked open but the door was locked and there was no one in the building. While I wasn't blown away by the shaved ice/ice cream dessert I had there, I wouldn't have gone so far as to write a scathing review of The Shiver Shack had it not been for the rude reply I got from them via email. After stopping by there, I received an email survey about my experience. Since they asked, I thought they genuinely wanted to know how their customers viewed their store and overall experience. I gave it a low rating and checked boxes that corresponded with reasons akin to quality and wait time. The survey also provided a spot for comments, so I noted the price was expensive for what you get and that I didn't plan on returning. I received a reply from the owner that said, "well Thank God for that". I know a lot of people who choose to shop at locally owned establishments like to support the ones who treat their customers well... and skip the ones who don't, so here's my experience with them. read more

We were in town on vacation and my son wanted a sno-cone. We drove 20 miles to get here and this place was worth the drive. We each had a different flavor and they were all amazing. Get the coconut ice cream added to your sno-come if you go. The staff was very friendly and helpful. read more

Great place, I come here at least twice a week. Not sure what the other reviews were about indicating rude staff. The staff is always very polite and curtious to me, one young lady always asks "how's your day going". Yes, and occasionally there is a very slight wait of maybe 1-2 minutes while they prepare the orders, but it's a small business what do you expect them to have an Express drive thru. read more

Gotta say I miss the old owners. They were so friendly and accommodating. Chatting with them must have made the wait seem shorter. Went in with new owners place seemed cold. Did square survey I received after purchase. explained in survey that order took a little long like 10 Mins when there were only a another couple in there. Owner responded by saying he checked the cameras and we only waited 9 mins. Oh I appologize that's ok then. It's about customers perception. No attempt to resolve but I guess in the end owner is always right. Isn't that how the old saying goes. Anyways they had big shoes to fill competing with lindy the old owners. I didn't have high expectations but wanted to try. Will be my last. It's a great idea kids love it. But it's definitely a want and not a need. I wish them well with their take on customer service. Totally unprepared to have more than one customer. Waited 15 minutes for 2 shaved ice. Only one person working. People walked out because of the long wait. Very disappointed. A follow up. The woman who came in to help did the worst ever job of doing the shaved ice. She did not pack it tight so when she put on the syrup it just went straight through. Worst ever from the Shiver Shack. Great shaved ice... Once you get it! Took 30 minutes for us to get two sno cones because the workers "lost" our order even though we were the only ones in the place. The snocones are HUGE! A small is big enough to split four ways, believe it or not. Great value! Lots of fun flavors! read more
