We're lucky to have a bakery and coffee shop like this in North Port. The baristas do a terrific job and always prepare my coffee just the way I like it. Especially the cappuccino, which they've perfected. The baked goods are outstanding. If you stop by in the morning, the display cases are packed full of fresh treats. When you walk in the front door, the case straight ahead is filled with Slavic desserts, while the one to the left features other European specialties. The left side of the building is dedicated to coffee and retail baked goods, while the right side serves as a sit-down restaurant. This is a genuine European style bakery, and there's also plenty of covered outdoor seating if you want to enjoy your order outside. Best of all, everything is made with natural and organic ingredients. You can feel good about indulging. Enjoy! read more

I came in from out of town and took my sister there for her birthday and was deeply disappointed. I tried three different types of macaroons and they all tasted like powdered sugar with no flavor. All you tasted was sugar. You couldn't taste the raspberry, or the chocolate or any flavorings. They were pretty and that's all. The marJolaine cake tasted like freezer burn like it was frozen multiple times and then thawed. It literally had a freezer taste. I couldn't eat any of it. Truly disappointing. read more

Visiting from out of town and wanted to support a small local business. The line was long but that's understandable given it was Mother's Day. One girl was taking orders and the other was making drinks. The one taking orders was polite and very professional, the one making drinks seemed absolutely insufferable. I watched her argue with 2 customers, and was short and dismissive with the rest of the customers she interacted with. My order was forgotten/overlooked during the rush and I had to go to the counter to ask about. The nicer one apologized and gave me a free chocolate croissant which was appreciated. The croissant was basic, nothing extravagant whatsoever and the coffee was nasty. I originally went in for a vanilla latte and was told by the employee they don't carry regular vanilla only French (which is odd for a coffee shop) so that's what I settled for. Overall, I was not impressed with the experience and definitely would not recommend this place. read more

We had a wonderful tasty lunch here today! First time in and it was really good! Seemed to be a Ukrainian crowd, which was really cool! The food was super yummy and the service was great. An amazing over the top bakery hooked onto the restaurant, had to close our eyes to this yummy bakery, would have liked one of every thing! This bakery is fabulous. The prices are quite reasonable, the baked goods are yummy. I highly recommend this place to get truly fresh daily baked goods and everything looks so good that it was hard to choose. I picked up 5 different items and will split them with hubby, the portions are so large we will each have plenty even split. We ate the baba a rhum this afternoon with coffee and let me tell you it was the best I ever had, hubby was highly impressed!! This place is located in kind of an aesthetically "less than" strip center off of Tamiami Trail.... ...but then, they're BEAUTIFUL case of bakery items just lures you in, as soon as you crack open the front door! Quiet little Bakery of European nature, serving a variety of bakery specialties as well as breads. Coffee is hand made and outstanding to say the least. Eat in or take out in this quiet, quaint and cozy spot. Staff are pleasant and helpful and the baked goods are fantastic. Our Ukrainian friend brought us here after a soak in the mineral springs and we were excited to try the pastries. We had the Napoleon and the poppyseed buns. They were excellent. A bit underwhelmed! Photos are outdated! They no longer serve crepes or food/drinks for-here so everything is in to-go bags which sucks if you decide to dine in anyway. The dining area is creepy! 80% of the lights aren't on & the chairs are gross! They are super stained and had loose dirt and hairs and god knows what else, ewwww. The "out of order crepe shop" next to the dining tables had co-workers hanging out back there which was weird too because it's so dark back there. The vibe was just straaange. Surprisingly there was still a lot of people coming in. The parking lot was packed when I got here... I ordered a savory pirojok (mushroom & potato and a cabbage one too) they did not have a toaster oven so they gave it to me cold! I asked if there was a side of sour cream or anything like ketchup/mustard and the waitress glared & just laughed at me as if it was the most outrageous request. I quickly picked up that they had the very basic minimum to offer. So I was grateful that the tables at least had salt & pepper because it needed it! This place has great potential & decent decor but it sure needs a good dusting and facelift, some of the sackcloth decor from the ceiling are hanging loose exposing stained water tiles and dusty filters. The desert options aren't the most affordable, especially the macaroons; $2.35-ish each?! A lot of the sweet stuff looked very appetizing, especially the berry filled ones, but the dough looked too thick & dry. (I later read that this was sometimes the case!) So I didn't give it a try. If I ever come back I will try the very deeply moist cakes full of layers or the crème brûlée which looks like a cool options you don't get to see anywhere else. I also ordered a latte which was pretty bland. The milk in a latte is normally sweet enough for me to enjoy plain but I went ahead & added a packet of sugar in the raw to give it better flavor to pair with my savory breakfast. I would not want to bring any friends here because the vibe is just weird. Maybe I would try to sit outside next time, it looked decent but uncovered so no good for a hot day.. ugh .. it's so hard to find a decent bakery to dine at so it's an ok choice for the area but I noticed most people were just taking things to-go. It's a good thing they have multiple signs to "please keep your distance" because their cozy entrance gets packed and people do not respect your space even when it's your time to order. read more

I've had their baked goods brought to me many times at work. I have been dying to get there since they announced they announced they were serving macarons months ago. I finally made it on Saturday! The parking lot is packed with no parking without driving around like at the store at Christmas time. The storefront is super small and cute. There were not many patrons but the few that were there chose to sit outside on this beautiful morning. We got 6 macarons and a poppy seed nut roll. Fairly priced and decent service. The two woman working seemed pressed for time and rushed. We took our order to go. When we got home, both items were sampled. The macarons were fresh and baked to perfection. The poppy seed nut roll was a tad sticky on top due to the poopy seeds for decor. The nut roll was a tad dry. I guess I am so use to getting these delicacies from old hungarian women at a food fair up north that I am spoiled with perfection for years. I would definitely return and try some of their breakfast items and more baked goods. The customer service experience on the other hand sucks. One of the girls was rude and was annoyed when I asked her a question if the buns had nuts. My son is allergic to nuts and it's important for me to know. The girl also forgot to put some of the items in the bag. The atmosphere was uninviting and I didn't want to stay at the cafe to eat. I came here with my dad when I was in town visiting. Dad often gets a load of freshly baked white bread for $2.99-yes, only $2.99!! We got only that one item. Service was quick and friendly. Although the girl didn't have a penny to give my dad for change so she just didn't give it. Maybe better planning on the business end would be good here? Got there bread home and toasted it up. I had it with my breakfast and it was absolutely amazing. Perfect crunch toasted but also retained a bit of chewiness. A perfect accompaniment to my meal. I'd recommend this place!
