My husband and I went to The Shops At La Cantrera for dinner on a Thursday evening. Before arriving at the restaurant, we had to find parking. Parking is very hard to find. There is not enough parking for the amount of customers that visit these shops. We ate at Sweet Paris. This is a fantastic restaurant that I highly recommend! I didn't get to try any other shops but other offerings in the shopping center include Barnes & Noble, Macy's, and Nieman Marcus.
I got lost in this place the first time I came here, however I got familiar in the following visits. I know it's funny! This place is a really nice spot to shop if you like that open-air vibe. There's really a good mix of stores, and having places like Macy's, Dillard's, and Nordstrom all in one area is a big plus. Only downside is the heat, shopping here in the summer can get pretty unpleasant since it's all outdoors. But when the weather's nice, it's definitely a great place to hang out and shop.
This is the nicest mall/shops currently in SA. It's a beautiful place in terms of scenery and overall cleanliness. They have a lot of shops to include Barnes and noble, Macy's, Dillards as well as unique stores such as Miss A. I love coming here on a weekday but god forbid you try to come on a weekend. Parking is absolutely ridiculous to find and it's extremely hard to navigate through the streets due to high volume use of the crosswalks. I have a seen so many people stuck for 10 minutes plus just waiting for people to stop crossing the street just to get to more parking. Despite this mall workers are typically kind but majority of these shops are very expensive. Overall a great place to get a good walk in and enjoy a nice day.

A few steps are maneuvering all around, but it's beautiful While I visited, it rained, so I guess be prepared for that also lol Shops at La Cantera are built around an outdoor setting. So you would have to enter and exit the same shop to enter another, but they have many shops and restaurants, including a bakery and pastries. They have a lot of parking outside, and I noticed some places offered valet. They have beautiful water fountains, and there are also benches and seats where you can sit. But the selection of stores is so much that you would need a few hours unless you know exactly where you want to go. It's cleaned, and most staff I met while shopping here were pleasant and helpful. You will get great value for whatever purchase you make here. They also have a few high-end brands with a great selection
I was able to walk in to JDs and get the shoes I wanted without hassle. There are a lot of good stores and restaurants here. We also had Yard House for lunch and stopped by Cheesecake Factory for desert. Be prepared to walk but it's def worth it. JDs had a great selection and a decent sale on the out of season items. Everyone was helpful. The wait wasn't bad.
Really impressed by the landscaping of this place. It's actually gorgeous, and strikes a lovely balance between nature and built fixtures, integrating water elements as well. Most outdoor malls don't really go this extra mile, creating a relaxed hangout for patrons. I appreciate anywhere where even low-income folks can walk around for free but feel a little fancy and upscale. =) It's a pretty sizeable mall too in terms of the number of stores available to shop at. You could easily spend an entire day here browsing. Tons of restaurants to choose from too! And drink kiosks- including alcohol! Very tempting on a hot day. We were here while the Fredricksberg Peach Festival was going on (from 11am-6pm), and a few awnings/booths had been set up in the center area, along with a live band. Awesome ambiance and it's cool events like these take place at this mall, making a weekend visit more special. I'd definitely go here a lot more often if I didn't live all the way up in Buda (near Austin). My only gripe was the parking situation. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of parking surrounding the entire mall- it SEEMS like there should be enough, but apparently not. We drove around quite awhile trying to find a spot on a Saturday afternoon. There were a decent number of restroom facilities spread throughout the plaza (and the one I went to was clean and stocked), and the directories were reasonably frequent and legible as well.
Visiting La Cantera can easily be an all-day experience. There's SO many amazing shops. From high-end to....end. And it's beautiful!
My favorite Swarovski in Texas to shop at. Compared to the others this store is voted #1 in Texas in my book. The customer service is kind , knowledgeable and thoughtful. Until I moved to Houston area I didn't realize how nice the San Antonio location was. We will be back at this La Cantera location to add to my collection because of the exemplary customer service.

Spending the day with my big brother is always a good time. We both enjoy fashion, so shopping together is as much about the experience as it is about the clothes. We can wander through just about every store, critique the latest styles, admire great finds, laugh at questionable fashion choices, and somehow entertain ourselves for hours. This adventure took us to the Shops at La Cantera, one of his favorite shopping destinations. Unlike a traditional enclosed mall, La Cantera is an open-air shopping center where you're strolling from store to store in the Texas sunshine. Considering we've had what feels like a month of nonstop rain, I was thrilled that Mother Nature finally gave us a bright, sunny day. While the rain has been good for the lawn and plants, I am definitely ready for it to stop. We started near Nordstrom and leisurely made our way toward Zara, popping in and out of stores along the way. One of my favorite parts of shopping is discovering what's new. I was pleasantly surprised to see several stores that had opened since my last visit. Exploring those new spaces made the trip even more enjoyable. You can find a variety of price points at this mall, making it appealing to a broad range of folks. By the end of the day, my brother scored a few stylish pieces from Zara Men, while I somehow managed to leave empty-handed. Surprisingly, I didn't mind one bit. The best purchase of the day wasn't something that fit in a shopping bag...it was quality time spent catching up, sharing plenty of laughs, and enjoying a leisurely afternoon of shop surfing with my favorite shopping buddy...my big brother. read more
Every month to every other month, my boyfriend and I take his mom out for one of our favorite traditions: a full-day shopping trip. One of the places in San Antonio she prefers is The Shops at La Cantera. It's this beautiful, high-end, open-air shopping center that honestly feels more like a park than a mall, thanks to all the shaded pathways, greenery, and water features. It's the perfect layout for a relaxed day out together, especially since we can stroll from store to store outside rather than being cooped up indoors. What makes it ideal for these outings is that it has a great mix of everything. His mom has a few specific spots she absolutely loves hitting up every single time, from the big anchor stores like Nordstrom and Dillard's to some of her favorite specialty boutiques. It really takes the stress out of our monthly outings because we already know the layout, the parking is easy, and there are plenty of spots to grab a bite when she needs a break. It's just a consistently great experience every time we go. read more
Large outdoor shopping center with great selection of shops and restaurants! You have to pay for most parking options but starting price is $2 for the first hour and $2 (and some change) for subsequent hours. If looking for a good shopping experience in the SATX area this is a must try. read more

I was able to walk in to JDs and get the shoes I wanted without hassle. There are a lot of good stores and restaurants here. We also had Yard House for lunch and stopped by Cheesecake Factory for desert. Be prepared to walk but it's def worth it. JDs had a great selection and a decent sale on the out of season items. My favorite Swarovski in Texas to shop at. Compared to the others this store is voted #1 in Texas in my book. The customer service is kind , knowledgeable and thoughtful. Until I moved to Houston area I didn't realize how nice the San Antonio location was. My Go To mall when the weather's great and I feel like getting my steps-in on my watch haha The shoppes themselves are well taken care of and normally decorated to match the season/holiday. The stores are a nice variety and match the mall's decor/style. read more

One of my favorite areas in SA. The layout of La Cantera is beautiful with plenty of benches, a gazebo, plants/flowers and a fountain. La Cantera gets crowded during the weekends, so parking can be difficult. During the Christmas season they light the plaza and in the summer you can see fireworks from Six Flags. La Cantera is filled with restaurants and places to shop (Forever 21, Francesca's, Altar'd State etc. I recommend Sweet Paris for brunch, The Baked Bear or Scooped Cookie Dough Bar for dessert. For dinner Whiskey Cake (their whiskey cake is amazing), The Cheesecake Factory, Kona Grill, Luciano's etc. Needless there are plenty of shops/places to eat at La Cantera. read more
This place is great for walking around, getting outside, and looking at things you'd never heard of. They have all your typical mall stores (Macy's, Michael Kors, etc) but they also have some smaller mom and pop places that are incredible. They have everything from lower budget (American Eagle) all the way to LV or Anthropologie. There's something for everyone here which is great! As far as covid goes: everyone we saw today was wearing a mask UNLESS they were sitting down eating/ drinking. There were tons of hand sanitizer stations all around and every store we went into was also following the protocols/ limiting. Places like Victoria Secret and Bath and Body works had lines out the door (30-40 min wait). There's tons of shade, beautiful landscaping, & tons of places to sit and relax. read more

Such a nice shopping plaza!! This was recommended to me by an Uber driver and I'm glad it was! Very new looking and really well done. They have an open air shopping experience with tons of comfortable seating area, fountains and lush greenery. It was almost like walking in a nice park. There are high end shops and more standard shops as well so the mix was good. They have several anchor chains on either end. Towards the Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom side are the higher end brand name shops. Towards Dillard's and Macy's you'll find the more mainstream shops. Check out all the little fountains and couches. There is nice shading from the trees and it's a great place to sit and drink a coffee or do some work. Overall: A+ Beautiful grounds, plenty of shops and restaurants, and very easy to enjoy. read more
The Obama era, also known as the Yes We Can period, is over. Now we are in the "No We Can't-era." How depressing. This is a pretty spectacular fancy extensive outdoor mall which has a lot of high-end stores and it's pretty awesome. One of the most beautiful and elaborate malls I've ever seen in my life, in fact. It's located very far north of San Antonio in the distant suburbs and covers a massive space with massive amounts of parking, and is a real chore to get into here, because of the way they built it, with all the windy roads and lakes. Feels like you're entering some kind of country club or fancy resort. But it's basically a huge outdoor shopping City where you can walk around for ages and when Barbie walks around here in heels she gets all the looks and it's awesome. This is basically the only place she's ever worn those particular Heels by the way. read more

Nice looking outdoor mall with an upscale feel. Reminds me of UTC in La Jolla, CA. Didn't have much time to shop around since the mall was closing when we got there. Came specifically for the VS after hours event. Long line going in, but the employees were helpful and I got what I wanted in an hr! read more

Outdoor shopping at its finest! All the brands are here y'all! I love that it's super clean, and heavily decorated with plant life (actually, I noticed that seems to be the norm in SA and I'm here for it). The parking wasn't atrocious either! We were able to park close and saw other available spots although the place was full. It seems as if the setup helps with the flow of people. There were long lines anywhere, and the service was great! The Shops at La Cantera has it all and was definitely one of my favorite shopping experiences in SA, hands down! read more
The go to one stop shop for outdoor eating, shopping and relaxing with friends and family!! We love bringing our out of town friends and family here. I also have frequented this place for dates and celebrations. So much variety and my go to spot for finding the perfect gift ! read more
