Pickering Town Centre is a good Suburban mall that serves the local residents well. It is walking distance to Town of Pickering City Hall and to the Pickering Main Library Branch. Can I dare to say that if you been to a mall in the suburbs, you been to all of them? Pickering Town Centre has most of the standard stores.. I would not make a special trip to come shop here, but it is ok if you are in the area to drop by to look around! read more

This mall has definitely lowered in quality in the last few years, the food court is not the greatest and the stores unfortunately do not get enough foot traffic. I have seen a lot of businesses open and close in a short period simply from not getting enough business. I only really come here, if there is something I need from a specific store, like LUSH otherwise, I don't really have a need. There have been some nice new additions in recent years though, like Farm Boy and Miniso. There are also plans to upgrade the Famous Players movie theatre into a Cineplex VIP. read more

Pickering town centre has a pop up dinosaur exhibit going on at the moment. There is a $5 entrance fee but didn't think it was worth it. I find this mall kind of depressing. The carpets are old and out of date and the lighting was horrible. It was not welcoming at all. They also do not have a second cup or Starbucks (Timothy's and Tim Hortons are available). The layout of the mall also makes no sense and there is a mixture of stores that are open and vacant lots. A lot of the stores also had their doors 80% shut by about 8:30pm. I would not recommend this mall whatsoever! read more

I was here earlier in the day killing some time while my car was at the mechanics. The mall is pretty big with all the typical stores - the Bay, Sears, H&M, Shoppers, etc. There isn't anything inherently wrong with this mall but for some reason it always seems a little sad. There are a lot of one of stores however in this mall - by this I mean small mom/pop stores you won't fine anywhere else (clothing, home decor) so that's a plus if you want to shop in non cookie cutter stores. Also where the Target used to be they will be opening a Saks off 5th store (sign says April 2017 opening). The food court located on the lower level has bad lighting and they tired old fast food places - Subway, Timmies, etc. Even SCT and Fairview have upped their food court selections. There is however plenty of parking and around the mall some restaurants. It's a mall, it generally get the job done if you need something. read more

It's no secret that mommies like taking their little ones to the mall. And why not? It has everything you could possibly need for a successful outing with a child, infant...toddler or whatever age kid that still wants to hang out with you. You never need to worry about searching high and low for a place to change your babe as most malls now have the fancy schmantzy "family washrooms" with a child sized toilets and sinks and even a tiny lounge area with a TV that seems to have some kids show on loop. If you need to find sustenance for you and/or your little one, there is always the abundance of choices in food court, often with at least a few vendors offering healthier offerings like Edo or Mr. Greek. And of course, finding a high chair sometimes can be an issue but most of the time, you have your little one in a stroller anyways. And by some crazy chance your little one needs immediate change of cloth and you didn't happen to bring some, there are plenty of kids shops always with some sort of sale on. What I really do love about Pickering Town Center is that it seems to have almost everything you could need (well, not if you fancy Yorkdale and Shops at Don Mills' swanky shops) for a breezy outing with your babe AND IT NEVER REALLY SEEMS TOO CROWDED! I can't emphasize the last point enough as I can't imagine anything worse than than schlepping an oversized diaper bag along with my stuff to a crowded mall to be pushed around by groups of teenagers or mall-walkers. And another thing. This mall has absolutely the most number of parking spots reserved for mom's with children that I've seen. Even the closest and larger mall, Scarborough Town Center, stands ashamed in this category. And during warmer months, they even put on a quaint farmer's market every Tuesdays. I highly recommend Pickering Town Center for anyone looking for a less stressful mall outing experience. read more

The Pickering Town Centre is my local shopping mall, and, like the ozone layer, it is continually expanding. There are now two cinemas where you can go to watch an actual movie (just in case you need a break from Netflix). There are also many stores, both upscale and low key, where you can go to actually touch your merchandise before you buy it (in case you need a break from Amazon). There's also a lot of food selection at the Food Court, and you can grab coffee at various locations peppered throughout the mall. The washrooms are really clean too! The mall has a nice, spacious layout with maps at strategic locations. I confess that I like to watch movies and shop in the comfort of my home, online, with my friends named Netflix and Amazon. However, if you want to go beyond virtual shopping and have an actual experience, the Pickering Town Centre is a pretty good place for that. The spaciousness means that you don't feel like you are packed in with a lot of people (like I felt at the Scarborough Town Centre once. It was crowd crush. Pickering is not like that). Also, the Go Train drops you off right in front of it, if you get off at the Pickering stop. So it is very convenient. Parking is quite plentiful, most of the time. You can also take advantage of the go train covered parking. There is a slightly dark, suburban edge to the Pickering Town Centre, and it will either appeal to you or it won't. But if you want to get away from that keyboard and screen and see an actual movie or touch actual stuff, then the PTC is as good a mall as any. read more

I'm in awe of the low amount of reviews this mall has. Pickering Town Centre is the go to mall in Pickering, but perhaps there's not too many Yelpers out in Pickering right now, so there's no review for pickering town centre. An older mall, Pickering Town Centre has some small local stores and bigger brand named stores such as Ardene, Sportschek, The Hudson's Bay, Dollarama and Mastermind. Other retail brands such as Aldo and Roots are also present. Pickering Town Centre has a nice exterior and a beautiful food court. In addition, it has plenty of space for parking. Being one of the largest malls in the area, I feel like Pickering Town Centre lacks a few big brand named stores to attract more customers from coming. Right now, I would compare this mall to Limeridge mall in Hamilton or Conestoga in Waterloo. It has a few brand named stores, and is definitely the mall the represents the area, but it's more on the outskirts of Toronto and it doesn't have many of the huge brandname stores. Something surprising to me is that the first Miniso in Ontario was opened at Pickering Town Centre. Lastly, I'd like to add the Pickering Town Centre has this SUPER DUPER cute free Halloween train ride for kids and their families to hop on for a ride around the mall! read more

Pickering is lacking a downtown area but if you're looking for entertainment, shopping, and food close to home, Pickering Town Centre will get the job done. It got a massive $17M renovation about 10 years ago so the exterior facade got a new modern look and the food court was also updated. Many of the anchors have changed over the years and currently those are The Hudson's Bay, Sears (which is closing at the end of this year), Famous Players (slated for a renovation), and Farm Boy (think Whole Foods). For full service dining options, East Side Mario's is located in the mall but accessible from the street as is dessert bistro Spin, and separate from the main building there is a Jack Astor's and a Moxies. There is a Pickle Barrel under construction. The interior shopping centre is two stories and holds a plethora of stores. There is a mix of mom and pop shops along with chains like H&M, Aldo, and Roots. The mall also contains services including several salons, banking, and even a dental office (located conveniently in the food court). Guest services is located in centre court on the lower level by the escalators. There is also an information booth on the top level near the American Eagle. Escalators are located throughout the mall but there are elevators for those with strollers or accessibility needs. Parking is located on ground level and is completely free. One of the big pros of the mall is that parking is pretty easy. You're never looking for more than 5 minutes. At the busiest of times (Christmas shopping) it's never that bad in terms of crowdedness. The only store that I really see lines for (aside from on Boxing Day) is outside of Pandora. Likewise at the food court, there's a lot of seating so no worries there either. My only issue with the mall is that a lot of the no name stores aren't of substance. I've seen more than a couple going through clearance sales that weren't that cheap. There are a few empty stores as well, including some of the bigger spaces like where Sport Check and PJ's used to be. If you know you specifically need to go to a certain store, this mall might not have it because it is a bit smaller. read more

This mall saves Pickering residents from going to Scarborough Town Centre which is the closest option to a large mall. I like Pickering Town centre and the reason I gave it four stars is because, even though its not very big it has most of the stores I go to often, like the Body Shop! It has a small Cineplex, which makes it the perfect teenage hangout spot, mall and a movie! Even though its not as big as STC, Eatons, or Fairview Mall , it still has Target , along with Bay and Sears! What I like best about this mall is that it has a lot of the trendy cheaper stores that you don't find in bigger malls, like Sirens, Urban Planet, and Katie! It also has the branded stores but nothing high end! I wish they would open a Forever 21 ! I think having this mall in Pickering was a very good idea! It makes it the hub of the city! I like this mall. The stores here are the same as other big more popular malls (Buffalo, H&M etc) . So you get the good stores without the "mall rats". They even recently opened a BCBG Max Azria outlet store! read more

Last time I was here was probably more than 10 years ago. The mall is now a LOT bigger than what I remember it to be. Not sure if they've expanded or not. Very new and bright inside. They have a nice spacious food court and a theatre. The theatre looks a little down trodden compared to other malls and they could use a bit more lighting. I peeked in and thought they might have closed down lol. They have most of the franchise clothing stores. I like how they have Yankee candle, Cinnabon, and PJ's pet centre. I do look forward to returning if I'm in the area again :) read more

I've always felt safer in the this mall, as oppose to the shopping centres towards the west. Almost any store you're looking for is in this mall. It has a large, modern-looking food court, as well as services for hair styling, nail, and cineplex movie theater. The restaurant East Side Marios (any time I've gone) has been a good experience. My first time at PTC and my first impressions are that it's small, but it has a good variety of stores. It seems to be your typical suburban mall, with department stores like Sears and The Bay, and clothing store like H&M, F21 etc. I liked that it has a Cineplex attached to it, which is good for a post-shopping treat. They also have a display of mannequins wearing a variety of outfits from different stores at the centre of the mall - I found that unique and helpful. Also, FREE WIFI. read more

I just moved into the area and found the Pickering Town Centre while visiting the library.It is clean with friendly staff.One nice cleaner found a $5 bill I dropped and called my attention to it.Such as lovely young light-skin lady!I thank her honesty.But the brown employee at Tim's refused my $100 bill.No explanation,except that these are not accepted.Ditto at Dollarama.But the Spin Desert Cafe "Cheesecake Factory" is something else.Upon entering,I enquired if they served toast.The dark skin young lady took away my cup of unfinished coffee from McDonald's and said I could have the breakfast.She never asked how I liked the eggs,nor what kind of bread,etc. After 15 minutes,she brought scrambled eggs[I wanted sunnyside-up],white bread toasted on one side only[I wanted brown toasted on both sides],butter,but no jam,and oily potatoo slices.The bill came to over $9.00 but she would not accept my $100 bill!I had to load up my visa card, reluctantly. Finally at the CellsPoint,my iphone guy changed the $100 bill,and I could finally buy a cup of coffee. In reflection,I ask why won't these retailers accept the $100 bill?If it is counterfeit,they can check it on the machine.But that assumes I am guilty before been proved.... The Canadian gov't makes this biil.If retailers reject this bill,then they are rejecting the gov't!So all those who without sound purpose refuse the gov't currency,should not be allowed to do business in a country whose gov't they reject. Seeing as how I grew up around here I've had a lot of experience with this mall, and now currently living in Ajax I still go back all the time because Ajax doesn't have a mall. It's improved a lot. A hell of a lot. It's never too packed and has a lot of entrances and exits. The food court has a great selection including the recently opened sushi place, but with the same old burgers and whatnot. Store selection has and will always be weird. I find stores jump around a lot, but you still have your reliable H&M, Sears, Bluenotes, American Eagle, etc. Just a month ago I found The Source in a temporary spot nowhere near where it was before, and now it's moving back or something. It's not the best mall, but it's not sketchy or packed. It has everything, even if that everything isn't the best. It's in a convenient spot and continues to grow and get better. 4/5 read more

The PTC is a decent mall; Ajax is devoid of a centralized mall and the next best thing (for shopping) would be the Scarborough Town Centre (which is great for shopping but absolutely NUTS with people all the time) or the Oshawa Centre (which is significantly smaller and filled with a lot of dirty/sketchy people). PTC is clean, not overly populated and you can shop easily and move around with lots of bags or a stroller or whatever without too much difficulty. For a leisurely shopper, this is a great place to mosey around and for the in and out shopper, its good for that too with MANY entrances and exits to get you to your store of choice as fast as possible. While the PTC has come leaps and bounds in the past few years, throwing out some super crappy stores for very nice replacements, like Bath and Body Works, it's still a plain old mall. Considering that the Eaton's Centre is less than an hour away AND that the STC is within 15 minutes, if I had serious cash to spend, I wouldn't do it at this mall. For every day shopping or to browse, this IS a good mall for a few reasons. The mall really gets busy on Saturday and Sunday usually around or after lunch. If you want a few quiet hours of shopping, head there in the AM on either of these days and you'll find it nice and quiet. There's a good base selection of stores in this mall, not everything, but lots of stuff to keep you occupied and to give you choice to price things out for your options. There's also a movie theatre attached and an East Side Marios so you could easily make a day of shopping into an evening with friends or spouse. A significant amount of time and money has been spent renovating the entire mall to make it look modern and bright; the food court used to be dingy and dark and wasn't very popular, but now on weekends, its packed to the brim. Some good food choices in this food court, like Jimmy the Greek and Roasty Jack (YUM try the turkey club, its amazing) and a lot more selection than they used to have. There's a frequent rotation of the stores in here as I noted before so in the past few years and probably over the next few, more good stores will be arriving in this mall. The Zeller's wing is still crappyish but they're working on it: the womens' gym and urban behavior has revitalized that end of the mall (or started to). For you clothes shoppers, note that most stores in this mall are at the 'B' or 'C' level of inventory so they will likely NOT have all of the stock listed on their websites. And I think there's actually only ONE "outlet" store in this mall and that would be Campus Crew, who always has their merch on sale for like 40-50% off. Overall, I'm a fan of this mall because I am/was from Pickering and spent significant time here working at various locations and this was my main place to shop. If you're on foot, you can make it to lots of other stores in the area and it's right across from the library and prime public transit stops. A note to daz M.: there hasn't been a Buffalo in the PTC in the past 10 years - it used to be where the La Vie en Rose is but it's long gone now. And the mall rats are still there; they're just not as grungy as they were in the 90's. read more

For someone who is not a mall person I actually don't mind coming to this mall when I need certain things. The store selection is nothing amazing in my opinion however they do have some hidden gems. The H&M I really like, big selection for clothes, they have a rad Davids Tea, a really nice teavana & the LUSH store is what brings me to this mall the most. I LOVE the lush store here. Food selection isn't awful but it's nothing very good either. The mall is never too crowded. It's not a bad place. read more

I wish they had some more stores like forever 21, GAP, J Crew etc. They should also keep the mom and pop stores because that is what gives PTC character. This mall should boom with more desirable stores when Seaton is all developed. I definitely see the potential with a renovation in the future. For Durham shoppers in the meantime. I really love this mall. It's not very busy and you can always find parking here. Their food court isn't bad and has some good options like thai express. They just opened up a jack astors last year which is definitely an upgrade from East side marios. They used to have a bcbg outlet but they closed it down. There is also a movie theatre that's inside the mall. They've got some good basic stores and some nicer ones like pandora and David's tea. They could use some higher end clothing stores but overall it's a decent place to check out if you don't want to deal with the busyness of Scarborough Town Centre read more

Just want to review the BCBG store. Very disappointed. I was excited to shop there after my experience at the BCBG store near the US/Canada border. Amazing deals at that location. But in the Pickering store it's crap (pardon my language.) The selection looks like the 2007 rejects, and the prices are scams. Scams, I tell you. So, lesson is... despite the gas prices and travel time, go to the US store. Avoid the Pickering one at all costs. read more

When I came to Canada on vacations I heard about the great malls and the variety of stuff they offer. My expectations were higher though so I'd say this is pretty much an average shopping centre which you get everywhere else. It's fair but nothing special. Also public transportation could be better - apparently, there's a Go bus that drives there which is confusing if you expect the Go train. My bad, but for me it could have been made more obvious. But that's mainly for me who does not live around the place and who came there during his travels. read more
