This hotel does an amazing job making sure guests have unique experiences while also providing an oceanfront ambiance. Dinner was a hotel bar restaurant but still a great option. Highly recommend. They do amazing weddings and have entertainment typically at the beach bar.

A Fugazi of Luxury Hotels If you only have 30 seconds to spare for this review, just take my advice: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE ILLUSION OF THIS HOTEL. If you have more time for an in depth review, please read on. The Icona Diamond Beach is listed as a four-star luxury hotel. The website has convincing photography, and the reviews have mostly five stars but it is a lie. The website has a badge declaring it a 2025 Tripadvisor Traveler's Choice award winner, which now has me questioning anything Tripadvisor recommends. Here is what went wrong: The Room and the View: We booked the Premium Studio King, one of only two rooms with "front-facing ocean views," located on the 2nd floor where they store event furniture and linens. The room was old and dirty. There were water stains in the dropped ceiling, stains on the couch, a dresser drawer wouldn't close. The ceiling fixture over the small dining table had a bulb missing. The cabinet below the sink said "fire extinguisher" but the trash can was kept there instead. The internal door flip lock was held on by one screw and there had been clear damage at the top of the door that had been painted over. The A/C unit was an old wall unit, with the plug exposed, and a musty smell. The view is blocked by the roof of the restaurant that extends below and the roof of an event space in between the building and the beach, catching garbage tossed from higher floors. The balcony is a concrete slab wide enough to fit a small chair sideways. The bathroom had an old, faded, navy blue face-towel stuffed inside the bathmat. My first thought was that they left me a rag to clean the bathroom. Then I saw the toiletries wrapped in another towel of the same poor quality and realized these were the towels they intended us to use. If there was one item I could use to prove this luxury brand was a scam, it was these disgusting towels. The window track for our blackout curtains was damaged and did not close all the way, so my husband had to use a nail clipper to MacGyver the curtains closed. The only charger for my phone near the bed was built into the lamp and broken. My phone was dead when I woke up. The bathroom floor was made of linoleum. The Private, Oceanfront Beach: Between the hotel and the water was a large pool, parking lot, outdoor event spaces, beach bar, and a large section of sand. It's roughly 500-1000 feet from the hotel to the beach. The private section is stacked with lounge chairs and it's about 300 feet wide. The water itself is framed by storm sewer pipes, so be careful where the current takes you. The Pool: One of the nicer parts of the hotel, the pool is a decent size and heated. But the towels are no bigger or better than a gym towel you'd find at 24-Hour Fitness. Small, old, used, and gross (on brand with the bathroom towels). You can order food and drinks to the pool, but good luck finding the wait staff and happy hour pricing doesn't apply to the pool, even when Mother Nature sends you winds that make it impossible to use the beach and closes the beach bar early. The Fitness Center: Is more of a fitness closet, containing one rack of dumbbells, a bike and a treadmill, a large TV (blocked view), and a water cooler (the only good thing). The Restaurant: Happy hour includes a limited number of drinks and only applies if you're at the bar. Happy hour food choices are limited to "kids' chicken nuggets" and "a hot dog." Breakfast is supposed to go until 2 p.m. but they ran out of potatoes by noon, so I was forced to substitute with fries or order something else. The Service: 5 minutes after checking, I got a text asking me to rate my stay from 1-10. After seeing the room, I decided I would rate it a 6. Within 48 hours it dropped to a 1, and I vowed to share my experience far and wide to help others avoid wasting their money. If only I had more character space for this review. Just know that the staff knew we were unhappy and never once apologized or tried to accommodate us. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again, if it were free. Don't let the name or website fool you.

My husband and I came here 2 years ago and loved it so much we decided to visit again. Unfortunately this visit was not great. Although we booked the same room style, we were put in an outdated version with a sketchy bathroom. The ceiling tiles were not on properly and the bathtub was gross. What put the nail in the coffin was the roach on the wall right next to me!! I was totally grossed out and afraid of taking one home. The one good thing I can say was the staff was very nice.

The private beach is beautiful. The young men set up our umbrellas, our lounge chairs and gave us each a beach towel. Everyday when we were on the beach , they were friendly and smiled. Alex , Nick & Christian made our beach days so much more pleasant

Last weekend we stayed at Icona for our friend's wedding. The hotel is beautiful and is right on the beach. Each room has a balcony. The pool looked a little small, but you have access to a beautiful private beach. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful! The rooms are clean and the bar makes great drinks. Our friends' wedding was held in the reception hall on the third floor. It has beautiful floor to ceiling windows and the one wall opens to a large balcony that faces the beach. The food was also very well prepared. Wildwood Crest is a dry town and the hotel bar closes around 11. Hit the liquor store on your way in!

This is a long post, but hope it helps anyone considering the Fleur…read more Our stay here in August '22 was our second year. We were so impressed with everything we just had to come back. Like everyone else has said, staff is very nice, from the front desk to the maids. Especially the latter, they even set my younger son's stuffies in different positions each day after making the beds, so it's become something he's fond of and wonders every day what they'll do next. They do come around very early -- by or before 9am when we're still making breakfast, hey we like to sleep in on vacation!! -- but I've never felt that they were put off by it, we just put the "service required" sign on the door, go to the beach, and it's always been very thoroughly cleaned by the time we come back for a late lunch. The room (type "E") was on the 3rd floor again as I had requested the year before, and they even moved us down closer to the shore end of the building as I'd requested this year! These rooms are very nice as you can see in the site pictures. But it's the things you wonder about, whether they are as good as you could hope -- double beds are super comfortable (memory foam it seems, with good support for my creaky back), AC/ventilation is great in both front and bed rooms (we keep the fan running as my wife and me are used to fans and the noise helps us and the boys get to and stay asleep). Bath is great, never had problems with water/temp/pressure, and even though it's a little cramped it's still fine. Plenty of towels! Clean! Nice hardware! They provide plenty of pans/pots/utensils for making basic stuff, but I suggest bringing your own metal grill spatula and tongs to save having to borrow one from the front desk each time (which they happily will do). Their grills are great. The cooktops in the rooms work great too, and the fridge is plenty big enough to hold everything we need for a week. They provide both keurig and drip coffee makers (including the paper filters), just bring your own coffee. Nice big LG TV screen with DirectTV, plenty of channels, but who needs TV when there's the most beautiful beach, wonderful salt water pool, bike rental just a couple blocks away, several restaurants nearby, and that fantastic boardwalk a few more blocks away. The MonsterCone ice cream truck always visits the block each night, best (and reasonably priced!) ice cream you'll find other than Kore Bros on the boardwalk. For breakfast or lunch, the Tangiers across the street is really good. The Crusader next door is also decent. I love Mexican/tex-mex, so several short blocks away is Bandanas, HIGHLY recommended. For frou-frou food, I hear Alosi's at the Pan American a couple blocks up is nice (but expensive). The Do-Wop breakfast/lunch joint is also within walking distance, not to be confused with the Do-Wop restaurant on the boardwalk (which is really good btw). So, now for the ONLY thing I've had an "issue" with when staying at the Fleur the past two years mid-August: there is a group of families who've rented out several first floor rooms, and they seem to stay at the hotel all day in the pool area, drinking and having "fun", but they just take it over. And several of them set up and play cornhole on the sidewalk right next to the parking where our car was, drinking the whole day long... I changed from second week of August last year to third week this year, and they were still there anyway.... The mid-sized pool (which includes a cool spiral water slide for the kiddo's) is so crowded throughout the day by them that my boys don't want to go in. We look longingly at the near-empty Nassau or Tangiers pool across the way and have started thinking... But none of this stuff is the Fleur's fault at all. Just timing, and you can't choose your co-guests. So are there better motels to stay for the price and quality? Maybe. I've read/heard the Aquarius is pretty nice/competitive, and the nearby Starlux is also top-rate (it's a Morey's motel after all), both of those are further up on the boardwalk stretch to boot. I love love love the Jolly Roger (I stayed right down Palm Road from it as a kid in the late 60's and always went to their movie night!). Maybe it's a better deal, and the Tenaglia's are a fantastic family-owner business, but it's further down the Crest. Not so much of a biggie since there's the Jitney Surfer shuttle to the boardwalk if you don't want to drive (and who really wants to), but it is an older property with commensurate "issues" like in-wall A/C that may not cool both rooms as well, quirky retro-deco you might not like... whatever. Bottom line, you really can't go wrong staying here. It's a great stay, and the beach location is perfect. Really hard-pressed to find a better place than this. I'm getting the feeling we might try some place else, say "Meh", and just come back to the Fleur.

I've experienced this tradition two times so far, and now I'm starting to get infected. This place is really wonderful. It's in an awesome location on the beach, and its in just the right area to avoid the noise and hassle of being by the boardwalk. During the day, leave your door wide open, and let the sea breeze in. Sit on the balcony, read, and listen to the ocean. When you feel like, go lay on the sand, then swim in their pool for as long as you'd like. I'm not a huge pool person but I love swimming in this pool because the water is so clear, and deep and the right temperature. It's very approximate to everything, including great restaurants, and a bike rental place. You can bike down to the boardwalk in the morning, which is also a great, fun thing to do. The rooms themselves are just right. The beds and linens/comforter could be softer, but they clean it everyday and the bathroom is nice. The TV gets a lot of channels and the AC can get very, very cold! They also include a mini-fridge, microwave, and a large, large dresser, along with a little table. The room, no matter the size, is packed with things. They also have a grill on the premise and one time we cooked for ourselves. This place has everything and its just the right price. It's clean, family friendly, close to the beach. I think the fact that my boyfriend's family has been returning for longer than I've been alive can attest to this place.

    Madison Resorts

I stayed at the Madison (Ocean Tower) and definitely recommend!…read more I'll start by mentioning the three things that prevented me from giving a five star review. First, the elevator was down while we were there which wasn't a huge deal for us but since we were on the 3rd floor it made me wonder about folks with disabilities or any kind of knee or back issue. I felt this was a new resort growing pain though and hope they can get this worked out. Second, and another growing pain likely, while the pool on day 1 was heated and amazing as was the hot tub, on day 2 the heater wasn't working and there essentially was no hot tub and the pool was much cooler, though still enjoyable. The final component is more of a structural design issue that won't change but I thought I'd mention. The sink is outside of the bathroom. There is no sink in the bathroom. This means you need to exit the bathroom to wash your hands. We dealt with it but it's a bit of a design flaw. Now onto all the good! First, when I called about an early check in they said that while they couldn't guarantee that, we were welcome to come and get a parking pass and our pool passes while we wait. I think that's a wonderful alternative! It was much appreciated! Then, when we got there our room was ready! An even nicer surprise since we were about 2 hours early to check in. The place is new with new furniture and new flooring in the rooms. We had an adorable retro-looking microwave and refrigerator in our room. We even had bath robes available. The room was also stocked with really great smelling (green tea and coconut) shampoo, conditioner and bath gel. The pool area is wonderful with a cute pink and white theme. The cabanas are rentals, which we didn't do, but they certainly looked lovely. At night there are fire tables available and the deck has beautiful lighting. There is a rooftop open longe area on the 4th floor. There is also a snack stand right on the pool deck and a restaurant connected to the patio. When staying at the Madison you have access to both pools (though since we were only there a weekend we didn't venture over to spend time at the Royal Tower pool, which is the old Royal Hawaiian pool, and is still in tact with the middle island and large hot tub area). There is a small gym on site (again, talking specifically about the Ocean Tower - not sure what's at the Royal Tower in this capacity). Checked it out but didn't use it. The tower sets up chairs and umbrellas on the beach in a first come first serve capacity but again, a great service. Makes you feel elite. And lastly, something we used a lot, was the free shuttle service. The shuttle service is unique (only one other hotel in the area does this) and will take you to and from the boardwalk, local restaurants or close attractions. Tom and Jack, the two drivers we had, were super friendly and accommodating. Overall, everyone was quite friendly and we really enjoyed our stay. It was clean and comfortable. While we mostly stay in condos when down there, I would definitely stay here again! In fact, I look forward to it! #MadisonMoments

Our two-room suite was quiet, and the restaurant staff were pleasant. Unfortunately, the bathroom looked grungy with a rusted toilet paper holder and poor cleaning, and the bed was uncomfortable. Both the bedroom and bathroom were tiny, and I kept hitting my leg on the bed frame when walking around. We were handed one vague sheet of information at check-in, and when my husband went back for clarification, the front desk still couldn't clearly explain the amenities. Most of the staff were unable to answer basic questions. The towel attendant stayed on her phone, and the manager seemed "put off" when asked anything. For a hotel on the high end of pricing in the area, I expected comfort and at least a touch of "luxury." Required valet parking added to the inconvenience. I would not stay here again.
