My daughter just recently got married at Icona Diamond Beach. I don't even know where to begin. I can't even find the words to say how amazing EVERYTHING was from the first tour to the morning after. Phil and Bree and their staff did everything and so much more to make sure it was the perfect day. They had everything organized and under control down to the last detail! Our wedding was in the Grand tent on the beach and they made sure outsiders didn't intrude. Everything was beautiful! They accommodated everything we asked for, setting everything up perfectly the way we visioned....the patience..... I could go on for days. The Spalon and Aloha Rooms are a great add on option, and beautifully maintained! My dad is 74, has been to many, many weddings including mine....and he has repeatedly said it is the best wedding he has ever been to! Phil and Bree are extremely organized and a well oiled machine! We booked a room at Icona Diamond Beach at literally the 11th hour (3:00 PM on a Friday for that evening). We decided on a whim to spend the night in Cape May (we were already in Atlantic City), and we managed to score a discounted room through Hotelstonight.com. Our room was bright and seemingly recently renovated. I love the suite effect (bedroom and bathroom away from the sitting area). They have a nice outdoor bar on the beach, but due to the insane wind, it was closed. Tropical Storm Debby was working her whorish way up the coast of New Jersey that weekend. We left the property for dinner, but we regretted it upon our return. The hotel restaurant (Coastal Blue) is beautiful! We enjoyed a night cap at the restaurant bar while we learned a bit about the history of the hotel from the bartenders. Check-out is at 10:00 AM. And they MEAN 10:00 AM. We were getting ourselves ready to go and at 10:00 AM on the dot, housekeeping walked in. We heard them before we saw them, and we said, "We need a minute". It was a little off-putting. We even had the "do not disturb" sign on the door. We did not hear a knock. At any rate, don't expect to linger for even a minute. We were worried they would charge us for the extra 10 minutes (they didn't). I can't help but wonder if it would have been a different scenario if we booked our stay through Icona directly. Hmmm... The hotel it's self is beautiful. Very clean. They valet parking, free. They also have parking along the hotel. The customer service SUCKS. I think they hire are international people, none of them speak English or understand English. They don't want help their customers. They make you feel like you're inconveniencing them. We had a wedding here, not too sure I would recommend. The Bri is the wedding planner for the hotel. Good luck dealing with her. She is not ever nice. All the rooms are the same expect some have two entrances to the bathroom. It's really too bad because this place could be great if they just hire better workers. Phi is in charger food I think. A Fugazi of Luxury Hotels If you only have 30 seconds to spare for this review, just take my advice: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE ILLUSION OF THIS HOTEL. If you have more time for an in depth review, please read on. The Icona Diamond Beach is listed as a four-star luxury hotel. The website has convincing photography, and the reviews have mostly five stars but it is a lie. The website has a badge declaring it a 2025 Tripadvisor Traveler's Choice award winner, which now has me questioning anything Tripadvisor recommends. Here is what went wrong: The Room and the View: We booked the Premium Studio King, one of only two rooms with "front-facing ocean views," located on the 2nd floor where they store event furniture and linens. The room was old and dirty. There were water stains in the dropped ceiling, stains on the couch, a dresser drawer wouldn't close. The ceiling fixture over the small dining table had a bulb missing. The cabinet below the sink said "fire extinguisher" but the trash can was kept there instead. The internal door flip lock was held on by one screw and there had been clear damage at the top of the door that had been painted over. The A/C unit was an old wall unit, with the plug exposed, and a musty smell. The view is blocked by the roof of the restaurant that extends below and the roof of an event space in between the building and the beach, catching garbage tossed from higher floors. The balcony is a concrete slab wide enough to fit a small chair sideways. The bathroom had an old, faded, navy blue face-towel stuffed inside the bathmat. My first thought was that they left me a rag to clean the bathroom. Then I saw the toiletries wrapped in another towel of the same poor quality and realized these were the towels they intended us to use. If there was one item I could use to prove this luxury brand was a scam, it was these disgusting towels. The window track for our blackout curtains was damaged and did not close all the way, so my husband had to use a nail clipper to MacGyver the curtains closed. The only charger for my phone near the bed was built into the lamp and broken. My phone was dead when I woke up. The bathroom floor was made of linoleum. The Private, Oceanfront Beach: Between the hotel and the water was a large pool, parking lot, outdoor event spaces, beach bar, and a large section of sand. It's roughly 500-1000 feet from the hotel to the beach. The private section is stacked with lounge chairs and it's about 300 feet wide. The water itself is framed by storm sewer pipes, so be careful where the current takes you. The Pool: One of the nicer parts of the hotel, the pool is a decent size and heated. But the towels are no bigger or better than a gym towel you'd find at 24-Hour Fitness. Small, old, used, and gross (on brand with the bathroom towels). You can order food and drinks to the pool, but good luck finding the wait staff and happy hour pricing doesn't apply to the pool, even when Mother Nature sends you winds that make it impossible to use the beach and closes the beach bar early. The Fitness Center: Is more of a fitness closet, containing one rack of dumbbells, a bike and a treadmill, a large TV (blocked view), and a water cooler (the only good thing). The Restaurant: Happy hour includes a limited number of drinks and only applies if you're at the bar. Happy hour food choices are limited to "kids' chicken nuggets" and "a hot dog." Breakfast is supposed to go until 2 p.m. but they ran out of potatoes by noon, so I was forced to substitute with fries or order something else. The Service: 5 minutes after checking, I got a text asking me to rate my stay from 1-10. After seeing the room, I decided I would rate it a 6. Within 48 hours it dropped to a 1, and I vowed to share my experience far and wide to help others avoid wasting their money. If only I had more character space for this review. Just know that the staff knew we were unhappy and never once apologized or tried to accommodate us. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again, if it were free. We had a great time here even though it was off season. We were in town for a wedding and some thing we really appreciated were the complementary valet and the spacious room. The pocket door to the bedroom was very heavy so we ended up not being able to close that for fear of getting trapped inside but we were staying in the room by ourselves so we didn't find a need to have the door closed all the way. Not a four star resort but it's nice. Parking is tight but doable. Check in takes forever for some reason. The pantry is well stocked but I didn't check the pricing. The rooms are very nice but the bathrooms are small and dingy. We stayed in room 108 and heard every noise in the hotel. The beds were on the smaller size but comfortable. Kitchenette was nice and so was the area to sit and watch TV. Great location. Be aware the beds are two different sizes. Extremely comfortable beds, kitchen with a couple of stove top burners, keurig machine, table settings and glassware, and a couch, table and chairs, and balcony furniture. I didn't try the restaurant and tried to check out the fitness center, but my keys didn't work the night I arrived and I hit snooze about 10 times the next day until it was too late. Although we booked the same room style, we were put in an outdated version with a sketchy bathroom. The ceiling tiles were not on properly and the bathtub was gross. This will be a rather lengthy review. This place is just amazing . We had a premium poolside king suite with a view of the ocean as well as the pool . There was a mini kitchen which we definitely used . Upon arrival the valet was super helpful . Unlike many hotels now , they have daily housekeeping service . The beach is private and beautifully maintained . They will even drive you down to the beach if you like . (Thanks Earl!) The pool is spacious and well kept and there are hostesses walking around taking food and drink orders . Both Madison and Avery were terrific in that respect . There is a tiki bar near the beach where you can get food and some tropical libations . In addition they have an on-site restaurant (coastal blue ) that serves up some terrific food for breakfast , lunch and dinner . I want to give a special shout out to Avery at poolside who was a whirlwind of service and even went so far as to procure luau tickets we thought were sold out . Above and beyond . Matt was helpful as well in that regard. Before we arrived we decided to add another day and Matt # 2 was just amazing in helping us to that . Okay it's pricey . Well VERY pricey ! But in this instance the cost is reflected in the level of service and atmosphere . It's the nicest place in the area by far . It was a great time and I would recommend it highly . read more

Last weekend we stayed at Icona for our friend's wedding. The hotel is beautiful and is right on the beach. Each room has a balcony. The pool looked a little small, but you have access to a beautiful private beach. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful! The rooms are clean and the bar makes great drinks. Our friends' wedding was held in the reception hall on the third floor. It has beautiful floor to ceiling windows and the one wall opens to a large balcony that faces the beach. This is one of if not the best hotel I have ever been to. Yes, it is expensive. Like $500/night expensive. But it is worth it. Hotel rooms are updated, clean, modern and all balcony views are outstanding with gorgeous views of pool or beach. Pool is clean and chairs are high quality. There are two restaurants on site that are both amazing and delicious. First is poolside with good seafood. The Second is on the beach. Drinks are phenomenal. Not to mention beach chairs and umbrellas are all inclusive as well as parking. Diamond beach is private gated beach with this hotel being the only one on the beach. And needless to say its calm, peaceful, and no loud noises and people like the rest of Wildwood. If you have the money, please go here!! I almost never give a hotel a five star rating. There is always something they could work on. From the staff to the accommodations, I was pleased. The rooms have a split living room and small kitchen area. Gives a studio vibe but the bedroom is separated by a door. Although the room in total is not the size of a suite it gives you the quite feeling with this being closed off. The bathroom is on the smaller side but super clean and I really could not find any issues to call out. Usually the bathroom has some from of mildew or mold but everything is as you see in the pictures here on Yelp. Great job! read more

Went for a family getaway this past weekend and we really enjoyed our stay! From the super friendly reception with valet, bellhop, and front reception... we were definitely happy upon our arrival. The room was a little small for our liking.. especially the bathroom which was subpar at best. But, it wasn't a deal breaker. Also, didn't like that the ocean view was to the side... and you mostly got parking lot with your pool view. Balcony is in need of an upgrade... but thoroughly enjoyed waking up to the beach! Just a beautiful feel.. Nice short walk to the beautiful private beach.. I feel like this is what you pay for actually. Beach bar wasn't the best as both drinks I ordered were very so-so and overpriced. Took forever to get food as well. My sister and the kids enjoyed the pool. They have a kiddie one for the very little ones which was nice. Check out is 10 am.. really early and we couldn't get a complimentary late check out because they were fully booked. Not a fan. Who writes these reviews, shills, friends of the owner, some paid SEO company? We checked into the room with the A/C temp set at 65f to mask the room smell of old socks. The hotel was full so no chance to change rooms. No toilet paper or tissues in the room requiring a call to the office and a staff delivery. How about a tip? Compressor cycling is noisy so shut it off at night. Don't worry you will go nose blind in no time and not even smell the old socks. View from the balcony was tenement worthy. Great view of A/C compressors and fire escape, and if you stand on your tiptoes, a sliver of beach a half mile away. Got the opportunity to pay a group rate for a Sunday/Monday night stay for a Monday wedding. A bargain at over $350 a night. Pricing is bold, Taylor Ham egg and cheese breakfast sandwich with coffee is $20. How about a tip? Nice place .... At first. Customer service was rude and acted like everything we asked was an overstep. We ordered drinks from the bar, I gave them my room number twice and waited an hour and no one came. Called back and they had forgotten about us and used the excuse of 'I thought you were coming down stairs to pick it up, I never heard a room number'. Why would I call in an order if I didn't want it brought to my room! Went downstairs to buy some water, asked what the price was and the manger lady acted like it wasn't my place to ask prices! Rude! My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The suite was very spacious and very clean. Our room included a queen bed, and a double. The living room comes with a pullout bed. I was watching a basketball game while my wife slept. I laid on the pullout which was the most comfortable pullout I've ever laid on. The shower is spacious and the restroom was immaculate. There's a kitchenette fully stocked with dishes, microwave, dishwasher, mini fridge, single cup coffee maker, and a tv in both the bedroom and living room. There's also a balcony to relax on with an ocean view. Thermostats are not preset, which is great. The staff were great! My only downfall is that the hotel does not offer complimentary coffee in the lobby. ICONA deserves to lose at least a half star for it; however, I'm giving it the full five. My wife paid $2 for a cup. The coffee is absolutely disgusting! Come on ICONA; you charge more than enough for your stays. There are one star hotels that provide guests with complimentary coffee in the lobby. No meals served, nor restaurant on premise. You can go to the nearest marketplace and stock up for extended stays. There was a gentleman who assisted us with the check on, I believe his name is Brandon. He was absolutely great! He was very professional and informative. I left my wallet on our flight, in which my debit card was used by whomever retrieved it. Overall great location, new, clean and perfect for a family vacation. Most things were good with a few minor areas that could be better. This hotel is for if you want to really take advantage of the beach everyday--the private beach is great, but the pool is only ok. The best thing it has going for it is being in a quieter, chill area while also being in close proximity to area activities and attractions. The suites are modern and simple with everything you need for a comfortable and convenient stay. Star Bar had great drinks but the food was def not worth it. Half the staff was friendly and amazing, the other half didn't seem to realize they were working in hospitality. First, we had to wait a LONG time for the driver to show up. When he drove us, he was on his phone the ENTIRE time on snapchat. Then when we were coming back, waiting at the convention center (where they drop and pick you up), he did not come and we had to call the hotel. Last call is 11:30 and it was well before then. Actual charge was $411.92 for same stay. Diamond Beach WOULD NOT credit OVERCHARGE of $100+ for that room charged via Hotelbookings.com. DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL because they could not credit the overcharge. Credit Card would not honor reservation made more than 3-months in advance. My husband and I stayed here during their grand opening and LOVED IT. We didn't want a sleazy/dirty motel so we decided to spend a little more for Icona. It was recently renovated in under 6 months and in the process, they turned their regular rooms into 2-room suites. Yes, that means less room availability, but you could comfortably fit 4 in the suite we had: one bed in the bedroom (with TV), plus a pull out sofa in the living room (with another TV). It's also kind of nice having less people at the hotel instead of cramming people in like sardines. Less crowded that way. The suites are gorgeous - they kept with the retro theme but made it modern and beautiful (see my photos). There is a fully stocked kitchenette (pots, pans, martini kit, Keurig, dishwasher and soap, dishes, silverware, refrigerator, etc) so you could save some money by eating in every now and then. There is private beach access at this hotel so you don't have just anybody sitting next to you, although it is not strictly enforced (the obnoxious people next to us were from a neighboring hotel). But for the most part, it's nice and quiet. Because it's a little pricier than most, you won't have your average drunk teenagers on this beach - it's mostly couples and families with young children. I had a corner room so my view of the beach was nice after a hard days work. The hotel is surrounded by summer homes it was pretty much empty. This was a nice resort. Couple of reasons why l couldn't give it 5 stars though. Not that 3 stars is bad. Now let's first start off with the room. The room was a suite with 2 televisions. Refrigerator, microwave, small stove with two burners. It had a dining room table for two. The room had a safe that didn't work. We were only there for one night. So l didn't complain. The bed and pillows were nice and comfortable. I felt like l was right at home. The disappointment came in when l saw the view of the ocean from our balcony. Don't get me wrong. It's a beautiful view but it's from the side of the building. It's not to much that could be done about that. I just thought it would be a direct center view. I still got some good pictures. The room do come with some perks. Such as they had mints laid out on the pillows and they give you your own personal chapstick. The cable network was good. Now this room is very reasonable off season but at the price l hear they charge during the warmer weather. It was no reason for the tub to be unfinished. Now that's not attractive. At least everything was very clean. I'm going to really need you to work on the tub. It didn't interfere with the functioning but it does take away from the attractiveness. Other than that the staff was very friendly when checking in. It was a nice weekend getaway that l would gladly return to again off season of course. Who wouldn't enjoy a private beach right. Stayed here in 2022 and requested a room change because of noise and noise from a roof air conditioner. Over priced but was peaceful. Went to make a reservation for early October, 2023, so rather than doing it online, which I would suggest that you don't. I called and asked for a room towards the beach which is towards the back end of the hotel and on the top floor. I was told they could not confirm that so I asked if there was a room like that, that was not booked and was told there was but that I had to book online. Booking on line does not get me what I requested and the room will be picked at random. So, if there was no room booked on that floor why could I not book my request over the phone? I didn't want to pay in advance then when I get there find out I'm somewhere I don't want to be especially at those prices for the week and no refund. If you are going to pay close to 350 a night and there is a room available that you request, you should get it. So, so much for staying here this year I'll give my business to someone else. read more

Private. The pool is clean. The room and hallways are clean. Even the laundry room was clean! Valet parking as awesome and they helped with luggage. Only complaint is the TP is so thin and the bathroom is really close to the bed lol - Pool staff is very helpful in helping your party find available chairs. Towels available at the pool. Waitress service available at the pool! The Star Bar is right there on the sand, and if they are hosting a party or wedding, you get some great music too! Drinks and food aren't anything to write home about (although pricey). Better off going to The Grand Cafe next door. read more

Came here from Groupon for a quick weekend getaway and we had a great time! The room was spacious and clean, plenty of extra amenities and we loved waking up to the ocean view! We didn't eat there but we did hang out at the bar downstairs for awhile. Excellent bartenders and very friendly. The room itself came with a little kitchenette complete with dishwasher, fridge, stovetop, cookware, plates, etc. We had a 2 room suite with decent size tvs in both rooms. Mints on the pillows and robes available for use. My only complaint is about the checkout. One, checkout is at 10AM, which seemed a little too early for an off season hotel in my opinion. Second, we already had maids knocking on our door at 9:30. Again, it is the off season and the hotel was fairly crowded, but I can't imagine they had people rushing in for a Sunday check-in in April. However, we would love to come back if it wasn't so pricey in the summer, although that comes with the area. We'll just have to look forward to coming back in the off season! read more

It's simple for Wildwood Crest, Diamond Beach NJ....THIS is the best you will get. I am giving it a 5 star based on the location etc. I would change a few things, the bathrooms are small and in the bedroom, so in order to go to the bathroom you will wake anyone up that is sleeping. But I could live with that. The beach is very nice they gave it that Miami feel and it's just so inviting. You have a great bar, nice food location and you can get served on the beach which is a nice plus. This is truly the nicest hotel in Diamond Beach (actually in Wildwood in general).
