Super clean and very comfortable! The building is old but it adds to the charm and the owners clearly maintain it well! Trust me- most of the time the more modern places sacrifice what is important! Here you get it all! I am someone who is very picky! The joke (not joke) with my family is "don't unpack until your mom says" that usually means changing rooms and still sending house keeping... not here! From the moment you walk in, you can smell the fresh clean linens. There is not a spot on any surface! This is clearly a place that takes pride in their establishment! We stayed here for a quick 3 days trip this summer during the pandemic. This was a great bang for your buck, at $500 for 3 days and 2 nights. We had an amazing room. Wildwood has notoriously long and wide beaches. Plan to give yourself 10-20 minutes to walk to the waterfront because it can be tough. Beach was clean. Water was clean. Low tides are amazing here. The motel pool is awesome to have. There are picnic tables with umbrellas available. 2 grills and many lounges. A small section for the kiddie pool. Beware that during the day you will get day drinkers with wireless speakers and coolers and in the late afternoon kids swamp the pool with boogie boards. The boardwalk is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Then it's another 20-25 minutes to the main part of the boardwalk after the convention center. The tram car is your best bet if you are not moving your car and paying for parking. Tram car is $4 per person each way so that's $8 round trip. Beautiful beach and ocean view from the 3rd floor. The Gondolier was recommended to us by a friend who stays here every year. The seats and table on the balcony were comfy. Was easy and safe to hang our towels over the railing to dry. Room was SPOTLESS. So clean! Front room had queen sized bed, dining table for 6 people, sofa bed, bedside table and dresser, coat rack and an AC. Back room/second bedroom had its own AC and was attached to the fully equipped kitchenette and bathroom. Kitchenette had plates/dishes, utensils/cutlery, pots/pans, coffeemaker, microwave, full size fridge and freezer combo (bring your own ice trays!). Bathroom is a shower tub combo but not made out of plexiglass; it's tiled and the tub is easy to get in and out of it's not very tall. Towels were provided. Parking can be a bit difficult. Office staff were friendly and helpful. Elevator was out of service upon arrival but was fixed. Otherwise there are stairs. The only reason I chose 4 stars over 5 was because the beds were both harder than rocks. Very very stiff. If you have a long stay, bring a memory foam topper and your own fitted sheets Other than that, we would recommend this motel to anyone and we would definitely return! read more

Stayed five days pool was nice 8 feet deep no diving board. Owner on premises very nice. Free coffee and cookies every day in hospitality room. Plenty free parking although couple I stayed with had problem once when returning to the room late. But we didn't know we were allowed to use neighboring motels spots because it was same owner. Close to beach and bike rentals. Cleaning crew does great job. Tile floors in rooms make it worth the stay. No musty carpet or sandy floors. 2 BBQs by pool for you to use free of charge. Acme nearby so you can buy food. read more

I gave this place 4 stars right off the bat solely based on the fact that they had a room available for us when we decided on the spur of the moment to go to the shore for a night. We were able to book a room for a Saturday night after calling numerous places on Friday. We arrived early, around 10:00am, and the friendly people at the desk allowed us to park our car and use the pool as we waited for the room to be ready at check-in time, 3:00PM. The pool is large and not crowded. There are many chaise lounges, plus tables with umbrellas, both around the pool and on a second-floor deck with sweeping views of the Wildwood beach and boardwalk. It was comfortable and relaxing. We hit the jackpot with our room. It was not just a room but a 3-room suite, with a kitchen, living room, and bedroom. I wish we had been able to stay longer. The motel also features a "hospitality room" with some poker tables, a checkers/chess table, a large screen TV, and some very cushy couches and chairs. We had some trouble parking when returning from dinner, but the owner gave us a tag that allowed us to park on the street near the motel. Nice room, comfortable pool area, an very friendly and accommodating staff. we couldn't have asked for a better experience. read more

Clean and wonderful family vacation spot. Close to everything. Reasonable rates in season. Will certainly stay again.

The place was clean and right on ocean but had NO handicap accommodations. Rented a motorized wheelchair but ramp was occupied by vehicles. Did not make the spot accessible for us. Had to ask a hotel guest to switch spots with me so that I could move my car in and out. Pool closed at 7:00 pm. Had to pay for ice and the ice bucket wasn't even insulated. read more

Would not recommend. It is possible to preserve the charm and originality of a place, without looking outdated and rundown. It is not worth the money per night and def not with the required 3 night minimum. read more

Stayed here annually when our kids were younger. Always great stays. We haven't been down for about 10 years after our kids had grown. Last year we wanted to take our grandson and his parents down for a few Days. Was Sad to see that the Old Owners had sold the place. However the New owner Adam has done a great job and its as good or better than before. Just finished our 2nd stay and everything was great again. Great stay over Labor Day weekend. Location was perfect for us. A few blocks from boardwalk, so it was quieter, and located right across the street from the beach. Most rooms had a view of ocean and pool. We had a room on the second floor in the back corner. Our view could've been a little better but we liked being in a corner so we didn't get people walking by constantly. It was quiet when we wanted to sleep too. The room was small but sufficient for two people and had a generously sized refrigerator. The pool was a good size with a little jumping board. They also had a bbq which was always being used by guests. Smelled great! There was a tanning deck away from the pool which we liked using. The staff was super friendly and helpful with ideas of where to eat. The coffee was good in the am too :) Cons: I was charged for deposit twice. I did catch it on my statement, and they agreed to refund. Glad I caught it. The toilet was broken the whole time. Even after it was "fixed", still kept running and had to open lid to flush. We didn't get one of the updated rooms it seemed. read more

This is the worst motel I have ever bin in. First off you have to pay for minimum of 3 nights even though you only want to stay 2 nights. In addition I had no phone or internet in my room. The bathroom looked like 1960 style.when I complained about the internet, phone and having to pay for 3 nights when I only needed 2 the management told I could leave and go somewhere else.I assure you I will pass this info onto everyone I know. Great location, great staff, good value for your money. The only issues I had was the amount of smokers smoking in common areas, especially by the pool near where kids are playing. Also we had room 315, the room was in the back which I thought was better and more private. But the laundry room for the hotel towels was next door and heard laundry carts moving and slamming into each other every night as late as 1200 am at times. Plus this area was poorly ventilated and had to put towels against door to block smoke out. When I went to check out I mentioned to the owner , he apologized but that's it, thought maybe he would work something out for the inconvenience but no. Also pool gets crowded in late afternoons, and ice machines use quarters. read more

Stayed here 2 years ago... LOCATION: Great for us because we liked being off the boardwalk, but still close to the beach. ROOM: Our room needed an update. Owner (honest, straightforward) showed us 2 rooms closest and facing the ocean that were recently updated. He explained that other rooms were slated to be redone over time. When booking, ask if the room you want is updated. The largest rooms over the office and near the elevator, also closer to the shared, coin-operated washer/dryers, seem to get taken quickly. Keep in mind, this is a motel from the heyday when rooms, houses (even meal portions) were based on what we needed, not mcmansion overkill. There is a 2-burner range and small fridge if you want to mix up making small meals and eating locally or on the boardwalk. With the beach just over the dunes and a pool on-site, you shouldn't be spending much time in your room. POOL: Great size. Clean. Plenty of well-kept deck chairs. DOO-WOP STYLE: Really liked the upper deck that overlooks both the pool and the ocean. We enjoyed the singer/keyboardist who performed the '50s, '60s, '70s music everyone loves. If you're looking for a '50s/'60s style motel next to the beach and need the pool (who doesn't with kids?) then this is a great place. read more

The pool closes at 8pm! Third day of summer, its still light out and we couldn't use the pool. We stayed here last year and i thought the pools were open until 10. Next year, i think we'll stay somewhere with later pool hours. read more

We stayed at The Gondolier in Wildwood Crest and it was awesome. Great Location, the owners - the Adamo Pepitone family - are wonderful people! We have been staying at their motels (The Aztec across the street and the American Safari across the street) for years! Am always very impressed about the cleanliness of all of their motels.... love that they refurbish and upgrade their units continually! Carpeting in rooms all replaced with slate floors and everything so clean! The only recommendation I can make is that they get mats to put outside or inside each room so guests can wipe their feet prior to entering their room! Will always come back here! read more
