When my husband and I decided to purchase shutters we went right to Home Depot. From previous experience I just assumed they would be the best value. After receiving a very high quote for shutters and running into a few hiccups where they could not do shutters on some of our windows because the window seals were wrapped in stone, I decided to get other quotes. I used Yelp to help find other companies in the area. I was so pleased when I spoke with Dave at The Shutter Guys. After giving him our window measurements he quoted a price that was approximately $3,000 less than Home Depot. I was excited because this meant we could do our entire house. Also this price included a 3" molding whereas the Home Depot quote was giving us a 1" molding or less (their molding was the most ridiculous thing I had ever seen). Also The Shutter Guys had no problem installing a shutter on the window with the stone which made me very happy. Wade came out with a few other gentlemen to do the installation and he was beyond friendly and even went above and beyond to touch up some things on our walls after removing our previous window coverings. I just recently had The Shutter Guys install blinds and shutters in my home, and I am really happy I did. Our neighbors down the street went with them a couple months before us, so we thought we'd give them a call when we decided it was time for us to take the plunge. Matt came out the first time to give us an estimate, and he was patient with my wife and I in talking to us to really find window coverings that would work best for us. He knew what would work best for each of the rooms that we were looking at, including not doing anything for one or two windows that really didn't make sense to put window coverings on, so he was willing to give up a little business to make sure things were just done right. How crazy is that???? Not once did he pressure us into buying during that first meeting. He wanted us to talk to other vendors because he knew that he had the best prices and the quality products. We did some more shopping around, and ended up calling Matt back. We met a second time to finalize our order and give him our deposit. He patiently and thoroughly answered our additional questions, and gave us estimates on when we'd be getting our blinds (about 4 weeks) and shutters (about 8 weeks). Sure enough, we got a call from them 4 weeks later saying that our blinds would be arriving in a couple days, and wanted to schedule the installation time. Did they want a 4 hour window, tying up half of the day? Nope. They said they needed about 45 minutes to an hour, and scheduled it for something like 10 AM. Normally, when dealing with contractors, I like to be home to oversee them when they're here doing the work. However, I couldn't be home, and so I left it to my wife to be here for the installation. They arrived when they said they'd be here, and did a quick and thorough job with the blinds. Everything was installed properly, no trash was left around, and they treated my wife with respect and courtesy. I came home to a finished product that I'm still very pleased with. Another 4 weeks later, we called them to find out when our shutters were coming in (we were anxious to get them in), only to find out that they were about to call us to schedule the install for the next day. They were going to pick up the shutters the next morning from LA or Orange county, and offered to install them on the way back to San Diego. We scheduled a 10 AM install. Wade and another installer were at our front door 5 minutes early. Amazing! It was another quick yet thorough install, just as Matt had promised from the very beginning. From beginning to end, we had a great experience with everyone at The Shutter Guys. Price was great, and service was phenomenal. We still have another couple rooms to do, so as soon as we're ready for it, we'll be calling The Shutter Guys back to take care of the rest of our house! read more

Just got our entire house on plantation shutters. Love it! Wade came out to do the measurements, very precise and thorough and considerate of our preferences. He identified possible issues right at measurement time to make sure things go smooth. He is also very prompt with responding to calls or texts. We were planning to install shutters throughout our two-floor house but were not convinced of who to hire for our project.. After speaking with multiple retailers, sellers and sub-contractors of conventional Box-stores, my wife found on internet 'The Shutter Guys'. Based on a video and good reviews, we decided to call them. Dave -the owner- replied and we set a meeting. He was busy, so our lead-in time for our meeting was 3 weeks. Dave was detailed oriented confirmed our appointment by email and phone one before scheduled. Dave arrived timely, was well mannered, soft-spoken and listened carefully his potential client's perceptions (us). His non-verbal language was very relaxed and provided us a good 'vibration'. He helped us to navigate our choices. By the end of our meet we were convinced of what we wanted. During our conversation, we could perceive that not only Dave was experienced and knowledgeable but also objective and balanced on his statements. He put no pressure on us, but after so many interviews and prior experiences, we knew we found the right fit for us. Dave said that Shutters will be delivered on 6 weeks. We signed the contract on September 4, and Shutters were installed on October 13. The contract process was very smooth, he send us formal verification of our order for confirmation through email as pdf document. The shutter Guys (in contrast to other sellers) abide to CA-codes of requesting only 10% of down payment. Prior to installation, you are called to verify details of installation by his operation center and himself. The quality of Shutters are simply outstanding. We are very happy with our decision, the quality of work and product the Shutter guys delivered. On a minor note, his crew had to move a couple of our home security sensors during the installation process, and they might need some reconfiguration. Dave, spontaneously told me to call the security company for a 'house-service call' and he will refund the cost. In summary, Dave and the Sutter Guys stand out for their quality of product, honesty and integrity. Moreover, their price was right, not the cheapest not the most expensive, simply the right price. WOW! Just, wow. Look no further, these are your "shutter guys". From beginning to end the customer service and level of professionalism from this company is outstanding. Hard to find companies these days that conduct business with this level of service. Dave was on time, friendly, informative and quick at our initial consult and measure on our new home in Carlsbad. When shutters were in, Wade took over with a timely appointment to install. Again, customer service galore. Called the morning of to advise they were on their way and were at my home at 8:00 a.m on the dot. He brought two helpers with him who were very polite and conscientious of our new homes carpet and wood floors. They wore protective booties and put coverings over the walkways. Asked politely if they could listen to music in the garage as they worked. Then asked a couple more times to make sure music wasn't too loud.....it wasn't. Wow! Along the way, Wade encountered a few very minor mistakes in frame construction. I would never have seen them. But, he was not happy and said "they're not perfect and I won't be able to sleep tonight if they're not right." Told me he would be back in a couple weeks to finish with new pieces. Again...wow!! The Shutter Guys are awesome. I purchased my blinds and shutters 3.5 years ago. A month ago a feral cat ran into our open side door. Our Yorkies began the chase and the cat ran into the bedroom. Then it literally climbed the blinds. In the process, the blinds got broken, scratched and pretty much trashed. The cat jumped down and ran back outside. Weird experience. I called Dave and left a message. Shortly after, Wade, one of the Shutter Guys, called me back. He laughed at my story AND believed me! He ordered a new set of replacement blinds free of charge. I had the option of paying shipping from their warehouse in Escondido or picking them up. I picked them up today and had them back in the window shortly after. The Shutter Guys installed beautiful shutters throughout my whole house about a year ago. I wrote a very good review for them. Somehow it just went away. So, I do want to share again that this is the best company if you want high quality shutters and installation as well as excellent customer service. Both Dave and Wade are perfectionists when it comes to the quality of their product as well as the installation. They want to make sure that you are a happy customer. The crew that came out to do the installation in my home were very polite and professional. One of the shutters had a little damage. I did not see the damage, but Wade brought it up to me.
