We had a lot of fun at Sims house the other night. We sat inside because we wanted to experience the total feel and ambiance of this historic restaurant in a house. The food was very good. The waiter a young eager man was a little rough around the edges and seemed he would be more comfortable as a waiter at Dennys. Sims house is pretty expensive but the quality was there. I had the worst dinning experience of my life at The Sims House. My husband called ahead to make a reservation, and when we arrived, they rudely told us we did not have a reservation. After speaking with another staff member, they confirmed we did in fact have a reservation and led us to our table. After that, we proceeded to order two different red wines, which were some of the worst glasses of wine I've ever had in my entire life. They were also hot. Not room temperature, but hot. After that, we proceeded to get the meatball appetizer and the truffle fries. The meatballs arrived and were cold/frozen in the center. The ricotta that came with it was also frozen in sections. The truffle fries were something I could have purchased from the grocery and heated up in my air fryer. At that point, my husband and I decided we would leave and get dinner elsewhere. Lovely historic setting on the patio. Food was delicious-2 fish dishes Mahi was especially delicious, and the skirt steak was great. Such an eclectic place, that we all enjoyed, even the impromptu speech about Jupiter history given by the owner was appreciated by us on our first visit. I just called this utterly pompous place with my 315 area code but I'm a born and raised Floridian... they were so rude and offensive! I just asked what the average price per person was and they told me it's best that I do not to come! I dine at Michelin star restaurants and have been in the hospitality business for 30+ years! I have never been so offended in my life! Just cancelled my reservation. Please avoid this place at all cost! We HAD a reservation. Your answering service wouldn't answer a simple question and was totally rude! And HE IN FACT did say "we suggest you do not come"! My entire family heard it! I had the pleasure of eating at The Sims House last night and it was an absolute amazing experience. From the moment we walked in I was greeted with genuine excitement and warmth. This place is a true Gem to the community and I am happy that it was preserved and nurtured by passionate people that make you feel at home no pun lol. I've been wanting to try this place for so long and my only regret is not making a reservation sooner! The service was great and ambiance is pure Jupiter: beautiful and laid back. The food was great as well; we got the Mahi-Mahi, Shrimp Scampi, and Steak Churrasco and all plates were cleaned. Highly recommend going and supporting this business. read more

The space was very nice. It was a beautiful evening with a nice breeze and we had an outdoor table. Our server was a very nice kid. Those were the highlights of the evening. Apps were ok. Edemame were ever so slightly overcooked. They were spiced with Siracha. I liked it but others thought it too spicy. Shrimp ceviche was good + but I never had ceviche served with waffle fries. Didn't really go. Seared Tuna was cooked very nicely but had a sauce on it that was way too heavy for the fish and over powered the tuna. On to the mains. 3 had the fish special that was yellowtail snapper, served over linguine. It was swimming in the picatta sauce. And for $56 for a piece of fish and some pasta, they should have served it with KY! Although you might want that much sauce for the linguine, it was way too much for the fish. Last one had a salad with grilled salmon. Salmon was cooked perfectly but for an $18 charge for the salad, they could have included a few more leaves of lettuce. We brought our own wine and paid a $50 corkage fee. However that was worthwhile as their wine list was more than 3 times retail and offered pretty poor options. Don't get hypnotized by the house. But, the only reason to dine at the Sims house is if you want to drastically overpay for mediocre food and wine. Come to the think of it, not unlike many other restaurants in this area! read more

Very nice small restaurant in an old home. Not sure about the inside dining outside. It was wonderful and gorgeous night. Downside - was greeted by young man in jeans and a T-shirt and sat at the table with a burlap covering My wife had the lobster/fish dish and I had shrimp on lemon pasta. Both were very good but expensive for what you got .Also wine was $18 a glass. By the time we were done the two people diner only with two glasses of wine each was $178 - ouch. We were very excited to go here. Nice to hear the history of this location and a nice atmosphere. They do offer a "secret" menu but be careful prizes are also secret. The starters were nice but the piccata from secret menu was not good at all and that for $56. That's insane. Even the top restaurants in Jupiter don't charge that much. Glass of wine $18.. I have wanted to go to this restaurant based on all the wonderful reviews. they only serve beer and wine. their wine list was a bit pricey, . Ordered 3 appetizers fried calamari, muscles, they do not serve bread, wish they did to dunk in the sauce from the muscles The third app was a short rib and black bean egg roll, that was very good. one person ordered the shrimp fra di avlo in a red sauce over linguine, which he showed the waited the picture which he saw on their web page, the waiter asked the cook if he could do it. We were told yes but they brought out lemon shrimp butter over linguine We shared 2 desserts, but they do not serve coffee. The yard is very nice to eat and relax in. Cool location... but definitely overpriced. We ordered the specials (we never received a menu, thought it was specials only). We paid $44 for a very thin chicken cutlet with a side of potatoes.. no special sauces, no love in the dish. My husband got what he thought was fra'diavlo which was actually fried calamari, & squid with pasta & jarred tomato sauce- $55. We can go to Buccan for a better price. I have previously worked in the biz for 8 years and continue to do the books for a high end restaurant, so I'm used to the time & love that should go into dishes over $40. ( and I know the cost of food & labor) I don't want to bash them but we'll never go back & suggest others to only stop for a drink outside. We honestly felt robbed- we were shocked getting the bill after what we were served. I hope they can either drop their prices or make the food worth the $200 we spent- which is why I wanted to share my thoughts. (The table next to us got very quiet & whispering once they received their food & I think they were disappointed too.) read more
