I recently brought a very special guest to Sophia's for their first visit, and from start to finish, the experience exceeded every expectation. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and swiftly escorted to our table, which offered a lovely view of the bar area and a musician playing genuinely cool, soulful music. The energy in the room was vibrant, welcoming, and effortlessly chic -- the kind of atmosphere that immediately lets you know you're somewhere special. Our server, Lizzie, was an absolute standout. She was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable, with such a bright and genuine spirit. Her guidance through the menu was thoughtful and spot-on, and she truly elevated the entire dining experience. We began with the specialty oysters and the tuna poke. The tuna was clearly sushi-grade and incredibly fresh, served with house-made wonton chips that were nothing short of outstanding. The oysters were beautifully presented and came with a phenomenal variety of accompaniments that complemented them perfectly. For entrées, we chose the sweet potato-crusted grouper with truffle fries and plantains, as well as the crusted snapper served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Both dishes were expertly prepared, flavorful, and beautifully plated. I must also note that the portion size of the fresh Florida fish was incredibly generous -- easily enough to feed two people, which was a wonderful surprise and tremendous value. We also requested a customized margarita, and the bartender nailed it -- perfectly balanced and exactly what we had in mind. From the ambiance to the service, cocktails, and exceptional food, Sophia's delivered a truly memorable dining experience. We left impressed, happy, and already planning our return. Absolutely loved this little gem of a place in Hobe Sound. Tiki hut vibes, excellent service by both the bartenders and wait staff once we sat down to eat. Food was delicious. My husband loved the pork chop and I had one of the specials which was excellent. Dog friendly outside and an awesome solo singer the entire time. Will absolutely come again. I heard this restaurant just opened in September 2024 and it is so important to support local restaurants. This is definitely one of them and my new favorite spot when visiting Hobe Sound. Sophia's is a hidden gem with a really nice outside dining area and bar. The waitstaff was very attentive, the customers were very nice and the happy hour during the week from 3-6pm was fantastic! The bartender even offered to make a mango martini with a hint of lime that was not on the menu. That was delicious too! The flatbread appetizer with filet mignon and Gorgonzola was amazing! It was so delicious that I went back again a couple days later for happy hour again (but this time it was slightly overcooked). The calamari with red peppers appetizer was good but had a kick to it if you like it spicy. The filet mignon sliders were delicious too. If you have not been here yet, it's definitely a must visit whether you are local or out of town. The outdoor area is highly recommended! Food was plentiful & very tasty. We both had leftovers to take home for another meal. Ambience was great. Indoor and outdoor seating. Staff were very friendly & helpful. We will be back! We did lunch on a cold rainy Saturday so got comfort pasta dishes. Also wanted to try an appetizer so got the calamari. All our food was very good though my chicken was a bit tough (hard to find really tender moist chicken anywhere). My husband loves oranges & orange juice. Wow, wow, wow !!! I wanted a restaurant between Jupiter and Port St Lucie to meet friends and I discovered Sophia's and it turned out better than I expected. Hidden in Hobe Sound is this Gem! Once we parked we could see a nice outdoor area. We went inside to the hostess and were warmly greeted. We were led outside to a nicely decorated outdoor space with a full bar and multiple seating areas. The server was extremely attentive and helpful with a wonderfully friendly attitude. Shrimp Cocktail was typical, the Wedge Salad was extremely nicely plated and the Ahi Tuna Poke Platter was super, large portion and very tasty. Surf and Turf had a nice size Lobster Tail and perfectly cooked filet. The Center Cut Filet Mignon also was great. Nice side dishes, as well. I will be going back and I highly recommend. I wanted to specifically write a review for Sophia's. Shane at the bar out back is 10/10. Me & my boyfriend went for happy hour last night. It was busy, a full bar. Shane had great recommendations for food & made his drinks even better. I appreciated his positive attitude despite his full bar. To me the bartender also sets the vibes. Two small medallions Of steak, Cooked nicely, but unnecessarily heavy on spice. Crab cake was ok. Nothing special. The dressing was a little spicy. Plantains were excellent. Wine list was terrible. A bunch of kids on their phones in kitchen entrance...,they consistently forget appetizers l... multiple times exact thing happens. The service and food us a 2 star at best. Very sad. Wanted to love it and gave it multiple times. The waitress was the bartender tonight . Zero interaction .. no smile. No follow up on the drinks. Although we had heard only lukewarm reviews about Sophia we gave it a try ourselves tonight. The outdoor atmosphere is fun, with a nice bar and live entertainment. However the service this evening was pretty much the worse we've experienced anywhere. We had to call our waitress over to take our order. Once that was done she never returned to our table. A runner brought the food. . .reaching across the table rather than walking around to place the plates. No one ever checked on us. If someone had we would have told them that the lobster and crab bisque was barely lukewarm, the tuna poke didn't have most of the ingredients listed on the menu and that we would all like a refill on our drinks. We, of course, had to flag the waitress down for the check and again to take the payments. Unfortunately we will not be coming back. read more

We went here on spur of the moment to celebrate my wife's birthday. I won't mention which one. I rated our experience a 5, only because there is no 4 3/4 star. We sat on the patio. It was very pleasant and comfortable and warmer than inside. There was a musician playing near our table. The background music was pleasant, not intrusive. Our server was Lyla. She was terrific. Nothing more need be said. My wife has a peculiar food allergy - asparagus. Lyla brought this to the attention of the manager, Riley, and he made it a point to come to our table to discuss it with her and to make sure the filet she ordered was not exposed to any grilled asparagus. Thought this was really classy. We started with small caesar salads. They were good - not overdressed. We would have preferred the use of more romaine heart in the mix rather than the dark leafy greens. She ordered the filet, medium rare; I ordered te ribeye on the rare side. Both steaks came as ordered. Suggestion- order the steaks cooked to a lower temp than you plan to eat them, as they will continue to cook after they get to your table. Her filet was very good, but the last several pieces were medium, not medium rare. She had the broccoli; I had the plantains. Both were very good. We both ordered the mashed potatoes. We both left the mashed potatoes which are made with a cream cheese blend behind. Sorry Riley, no offense intended - just not our concept of mashed potatoes. We finished with a slice of decadent orange sunshine cake. Delicious with enough calories to feed a professional football team. Overall, a really nice dining experience. We will return. read more
