DANG this stuff was expensive!!!! But then again I don't know how much ski stuff is supposed to cost. My son had a ski trip and I was going with him. He was properly dressed. I was sort of properly dressed, but I forgot my gloves and I forgot my boots. I was gonna pop in to see if I can buy some gloves, but I noticed they also had boots. I know winter boots can be expensive. That's a given, but the gloves.. HOLY SMOKES!!! some of the gloves were $70 just for swishy sounding mittens and gloves. I ended up getting a pair. I think they were like 40 bucks but they were on sale. It was hard to find my size because UNFORTUNATELY my dad gave me his big old prizefighting mitts, but I found a pair of mittens just like I wanted. But I understand the high price it's all about demand. This place is conveniently located for people like myself who can't stay organized and remember the things that they need to take on trips. I didn't end up skiing, but I did go tubing. The next trip up I'll make sure I'm prepared but I'm glad that place was there when I needed some gloves. read more

Ski Barn provides rentals and gear for purchase to the entire Wintergreen area. They have kayaks, and ski supplies to name a few. The employees here are nice and welcoming. There is something for everyone here. Every time I'm in the area I stop here. read more

I, annoyingly, forgot my ski jacket on the way to go skiing. So, I stopped here in hopes they had something. While they have expensive options, they have inexpensive options too. Came here to pick up some rentals for some friends.checked in on the computer and ended up taking an hour to get the rentals. They seemed understaffed on the weekend which attributed to the significantly long wait times. Rentals were $50 a person which also was steep for a rental, I think it's only $5 cheaper than on the mountain which I will probably do next time to avoid this wait Staff were definitely stressed out and it showed. Waited 2 hours to get gear WITH a reservation. Staff was friendly and gear was good, but it was not worth renting here over the resort. Minimal price difference, and it would have gone faster at the resort. Pay the few extra bucks and rent at the resort, ESPECIALLY if you're planning to go during early daytime hours. read more

After having been there for 5 minutes lady in dreadlocks came and asked me very rudely what the heck I was doing there even though she was the one who let me in. I'm a retail manager for a large National retail chain so I understand the seriousness of being safe during this pandemic, but there's a limit to how intense staff should be towards their customers. The experience was extremely off putting. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes due to how the staff treated the customers inside. Yelling and telling us we're "over saturated", bright neon signs EVERYWHERE telling us not to touch anything, staff members hovering and monitoring our every move. My boyfriend asked if he could throw out an empty coffee cup and they said they didn't have a trash can. Like what? It was way too much. They lost my sale. I was looking forward to buying a helmet, mittens, and a ski jacket. This was such a disappointing experience. If you're going to treat customers that way, please just shut down the retail part of the store. read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE! READ! Hello, I wanted to point out a few experiences we had with your wintergreen store. First, I wanted to point out one thing. The woman who works there with the gray short hair and braids is extremely rude and she needs to work on her customer service skills. Second, we went to pick up our skis the night before our two day rental. It was 430pm. She wouldn't let us take the skis before 5pm unless we also paid for a night rental that evening also. So you are literally going to make me stand in the store for another 30 minutes so I don't have to pay the night rental. It doesn't make sense. You are going to give me the skis at 5pm anyways? What's the damn difference? I paid for the night rental because we had reservations for dinner soon. So I basically got robbed for a night rental for me and my child and I didn't even use it for a night rental. Third, we dropped off our rentals a day early because my son had injured himself skiing. We dropped them off on the first day of the rental at around 3pm. I kindly asked them if it's possibly to get reimbursed for the second day since my son cannot ski no more. I am then told I can have a voucher to rent again. I'm like..... I'm not coming back here skiing again. Can I please get reimbursed nicely again? She says to bad and says give the voucher to a friend or something. There's just no understanding for the customer and no common sense whatsoever. I will never rent from any Ski Barn again and will make it my life's journey to let everyone I know to never rent from you also. The lady with the short gray hair and braids also yelled at my son in the store also. Someone needs to train these people on some customer service skills. I felt bad for the lady who was receiving the return of the skis and snowboard. I think she was extremely embarrassed because of the way the lady with the short gray hair and braids responded to me. Someone needs to go visit this store from upper management and get these people in line. read more

This ski barn in Roseland is wonderful. They stay busy. Thay work hard to keep their establishment very sanitary. They deal with alot of different people on a daily basis. Their customer service skill are great. They try to get you in and rolling so others can come in so everyone can hits the slopes fast. I applaud their efforts. We've been stopping by this shop for years and have always had friendly, helpful service and you cannot beat the prices. Try driving up the mountain and see what you'll pay. Fantastic service don't listen to the people complaining about employees they are all friendly, just efficient at first they are super busy and need to handle lots of people so they may come off a little abrasive at first but when they are currently helping you they are fun and polite. read more

Could not have been more confusing of a process. The only reason we went was because Wintergreen ran out of rentals so we had to resort to Ski Barn. After standing in the store for 5 minutes someone finally let us know where to go. So we used the computers and got our little slip but no one told us where to go after that so we stood in a line we didn't need to stand in in hindsight. They then told us rentals go to the line to the left and buyers go to the right. So we went to the left and they said no rentals that haven't gotten their rentals go to the far right...... what?? Thankfully we weren't the only confused ones so we had other customers to be clueless with. Finally we figured out how the process works regarding picking rentals out. I told the lady I needed a helmet and after she handed me all my rentals she didn't put a helmet with it. I reminded her I needed one and she threw it on the counter and said have a nice day and laughed. SO that wasn't appreciated and I wish I didn't have to come back. If they fixed their attitudes and hired like 5 more people they'd be fine. read more

Highly recommend renting in advance through ski barn before going to ski at wintergreen. Everyone is very very helpful and knowledgeable and will get you in and out with the right equipment. My experience was smooth and i enjoyed renting with ski barn and talking to the employees. Especially working with Nikki, was great and we had to exchange one day to swap skis for a snowboard and she ha no problem helping us and getting us equipped with what we wanted!! Got turned away because I didn't have a reservation. At least 4 employees working late Sunday afternoon with no Customers in the store. Called the resort from the parking lot and locked down rentals. It took about 10 minutes. Better price, better equipment, and better service! read more

Ski barn is a HORRIBLE INSTITUTION at best. I would not wish my experience with them on my worst enemy. They have the meanest staff I have ever met in my entire life. They have no manners, screams at the guests, and are just down right horrible human beings. We had to wait for over an hr and a half for our ski pick up that was supposed to have a reserved time of 3pm. When we were completely understanding we still received sassy remarks from everyone including the manager Nikki. We only got to ski for 3 hours when we paid for 5... Great morning customer service with Nikki but horrible experience when returning the boards at night with Preston. He was rude to the other employees, threw my snowboard across the room, and cursing in front of customers. However, the pricing was much cheaper than other rental locations, and equipment was in great condition. read more

Lady with colored hair could be the rudest person i've ever encountered, literally bought a board from store and she felt the need to throw it on the wood claiming that it's not a rental and it does not need to be on the table, AFTER AN EMPLOYEE HAD SET THE BOARD ON THE TABLE, i exaggerate sometimes but literally if you do have to stop at this place avoid that lady AT ALL COSTS SHE WILL COMPLETELY RUIN YOUR DAY, seems like a real nice place that is tarnished by her rudeness and attitude, buying an expensive item makes one think, and when you get scrutinized by the employee makes u a lot less likely to go back in there. They were very accommodating, our reservations at another ski rental place fell through, I called them and the very kind employee was able to fit us in with no problem. Also, this place is so Covid safe! You can tell they put a lot of effort into the store environment with the floor tape, fitting cubicles all separated by plastic, hand sanitizer etc. A very pleasant, speedy experience! read more

Pretty disappointed in my experience here. Came in town for a weekend get together with friends and elected to not bring my skis since Ski Barn offered demo level skis. I reserved them online, chose the size from the drop down and thought we were good to go... Until I showed up and they didn't have a single demo ski to offer. I dont think they even had a single advanced level ski to offer. Not sold out, just not even something they carry (despite the website). They ended up having a standard basic rental pair for me, far smaller than what I'd reserved. As far as I could tell, they only had two real pairs of rentals of any level available and despite me telling them I was an expert level skier - were renting me the same tier ski that they rent first timers. Furthermore, the ski they ended up giving me wasn't even tuned or waxed and kept grabbing at wetter snow on the hill. Wasn't going to drive back down the mountain road so we waxed it ourselves. Giving them a second star pretty much exclusively for the guy in the overalls who was nice, but I went here to get a better product than renting at the resort and was severely let down. read more

Its OK...The first pair they gave me didn't fit that well so i had to come back for a different pair and they seemed pretty unhappy about it. Suggested that I probably just aren't skiing correctly, assumed that I don't know how to ski.
