I recently had the CO2 laser resurfacing done at the Skin Center. What a great experience! Prep consisted of applying a bleaching cream daily for two weeks before the procedure. This was to allow for deeper penetration of the laser during the procedure and better results. When I got to the office on procedure day, my nurse Angie (she's AMAZING!) thoroughly explained the procedure, discussed my concerns and then applied numbing cream. The cream sat on my face for about 20-30 minutes. There was also an option of having a pain pill as well as the numbing cream but I opted just for the numbing cream. She put goggles on me to protect my eyes and then started the procedure. What struck me most during the procedure was the smell. It was sort of a burning smell - something not expected, but makes sense. The laser itself wasn't too bad, though certain parts of my face hurt more than others. The constant blast of cool air during the procedure helped a lot. I had one pass of the laser over my entire face and then a second pass over the bottom half of my face where my problem areas are. Angie applied Aquafor to my face when finished. After the procedure for about an hour or two, my skin felt sunburned. I had a bit of pinpoint bleeding (normal for the procedure) a few hours after the procedure but then that went away. I applied Aquafor, did vinegar soaks, and iced my face with a bag of frozen peas off and on for the next 48 hours. The redness and swelling went away gradually over the next 5-7 days following the procedure. I'm now about 2 1/2 months post procedure and while it did take about 6 weeks to see results, my skin is looking better and better! It's much smoother and my scarring/hyper pigmentation has faded substantially. I still get hormonal break outs around my chin and jaw, but they seem to heal much faster and with less hyper-pigmentation then before due to the extra collagen growth stimulated by the procedure. All in all it was a great experience with great results! With the CO2 laser they do recommend at least 2 treatments so I'll definitely be getting another round after the summer for even better results! Love the skin center and the AMAZING staff! read more

The Skin Center in Wexford is the premiere medical Spa facility in Pittsburgh. As a medical professional with experience in this field, I think this is the best that one can ever get in a Med Spa. The staff was very professional, yet friendly and the Center was extremely clean and aesthetically appealing. I had dermal filler and botox injections from Adrienne who has many years of experience. She has the best injection technique that I've seen. I was totally confident of her skills. In my opinion its the only place to go for your surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures. read more

I have been going to the skin Center for over a year now and I couldn't be happier with the results I get from them. About once a month I see Kasey for a dermasweep and a dermaplane facial. My skin has never looked better. Just the other day a friend made a comment that I was aging backwards. A few months ago I also had a PRP facial with Kasey to help diminish the old acne scars I have on my chin. The results were amazing. I have also received treatment of Botox, dysport and juvederm. Tiffany and Debbie have done an outstanding job perfecting my lips. All the girls there are so knowledgeable. I even use the skin care line they sell, hylunia. I will never use anything else!! Had a lackluster experience there. While they were professional, I was not happy with my microdermabrasion. I also made an appointment for Botox before my wedding. She "booked" it right in front of me, however I never received a call or notice. I am realizing that everyone who raves about them online gets their services for free. While I think that is a great marketing technique, it's causing me to reevaluate. Perhaps I will go back to the skin-center someday. I have friends who rave about other locations. read more

I called The Skin Center a while back inquiring about dermal fillers. The girl I spoke with over the phone was very sweet & I ended up scheduling an appointment with Adrienne after the receptionist recommended her. I first went for a consultation with Adrienne. I definitely trusted her with injecting filler for me after hearing her credentials and expertise. She explained the procedure and what to expect--all sounded reasonable (from previous experience). She explained how long it would last, how much filler I would need (stated I was so small that too much might cause unwanted results), price. So I made another appointment for the actual injections. At 30 minutes past my appointment time, I asked the receptionist why I hadn't seen Adrienne yet. She was very nice and apologized. She was nice enough to give me a couple coupons for the inconvenience, much appreciated. However, Adrienne didn't get to me until an HOUR after my scheduled appointment time (beside the point, but I did miss other scheduled events as a result). She was very nice during the actual procedure. Talked me through the entire time. I walk out to reception (very, very happy with my results). The receptionist profusely apologized for my wait, discounted the syringe of filler I bought and let me use one of the coupons she gave me less than an hour prior. Adrienne then starts to question the price I was getting the syringe for and somehow suggested that I should have been paying DOUBLE what I paid for half of a syringe. I knew there was some sort of miscommunication happening between Adrienne and the receptionist, so I told them I wanted to know the price I would pay for half vs. full syringe. The receptionist told me the price for the full syringe, and Adrienne replied, "I don't care what you give it to her for," rolled her eyes, smirked, and started to walk away. Before she entered the back, I said to her, "When should I come back for the rest of the syringe, or don't I need to?" To which she replied, "Oh, you DEFINITELY need to," with MAJOR, MAJOR attitude. So, trusting her (which at that point, I probably should have known not to), I went back a second time. She was not so nice this time. Not sure if she didn't think I noticed or not, but she made quite a few snarky comments in the short time I was there. She told me that I should consider surgery under my eyes to relieve the bags because I "definitely have those fat pads." (I'm 5'0" and 105 lb.) Also told me as a result I would be bruised for weeks, after voicing my concerns of being heavily bruised long-term, so not sure why she suggested that. I also coincidentally ended up bruised after this round, too (not after the first time she injected me)! As I walked out the door, she said, "Hopefully those last you a long time!" and I'm thinking that was sarcastic because under my eyes are worse than before! Definitely overfilled. Kind of lumpy, but can definitely be covered with makeup. Although, I am still very unhappy. I called to speak to customer service regarding this matter. I had a girl take a message and state that she would give it to her manager to call me back. That was about a month ago and I have yet to be contacted. i LOVED bridget, she was timely, courteous and friendly, and spot on with her injectables. same dose, same areas, consistent results though she wasn't my only provider. when due for botox (or dysport) ususally about every 4 months or so, and not like clockwork, depending upon where i was, (PA or FL) i visited the corresponding service provider. i never had any issues in doing this. i also had her do an IPL treatment (for dark spots) that i was quite satisfied with but was unable to do the entire series due to my primary residence being elsewhere. but if i had lived in pitt the entire time would have certainly had her complete the remaining 2 IPL treatments. eventually pitt became my primary residence, but then bridget relocated much to my dismay. my transition away from bridget was a bit challenging. i paid for 2 botox treatments and each time had to come back for follow up touch ups despite my requests to please ensure it (doseage/units) was done properly the first time. the first two visits (1 paid; 1 "complimentary" touch up 14 days later) i would not use either of those people again. the third i would consider paying for again, as i do believe she is experienced, but given that i set my expectations to this last injector, given what happened in the previous visit just over 4 months previous, i again required another follow up. i am going to find another office who charges per area and gets the job done more adequately the first time around. and i've found the office staff annoying, argumentative, and annoying when trying to facilitate foul ups on the part of the office, including scheduling and 2 cancellations for 10k worth of procedural surgery consults. now that bridget is gone, i gave them 4 chances to set expectations and provide stellar service. i'm not impressed. time to find a new cosmoderm spa. read more

I had laser hair removal done several years ago. I was told that I was an ideal candidate, so excitedly I started sessions. The technician offered to work on my entire face plus neck . I had barely any hair (baby fine,light brown) and I thought sure why not! Let's get rid of it all! Biggest mistake ever. The laser actually stimulated hair grown. I ended up with longer, coarser, darker hairs all over! I wasted thousands of dollars on this process and am internally disappointed. Because the hair has more blood and often times hormones, the virgin hair is stimulated. I am now paying to have electrolysis (which is permanent!!!) fix the mess that the laser hair removal caused. Stay away! Think twice! Iam sure they are fine for other things such as micro-dermabrassion or other anti-aging skin remedies, and the office is very nice. read more

I absolutely love the Skin Center! I've been going for years and it is honestly my favorite place to go! They are all so sweet and friendly, it feels like you're going to hang out with your friends! I always leave with a smile on my face and with my skin glowing! Most recently, I had microneedling done at the Mt. Lebanon location with Kaity. She couldnt have been nicer or made me feel more comfortable. They always strive to make you as comfortable as possible. They're honest if something might be uncomfortable, but it's never been too much to handle. The microneedling really helped my pores, fine lines, and gave me a fresh glow! The procedure was really quick. They numbed me beforehand. Withing 48 hours the redness was all gone and my skin looked rejuvenated! They gave me plenty of product to apply afterwards. It was overall a great experience and really painless. I've also had dermasweeps from Bobi at the Wexford location and I love those, too! Bobi is such a wonderful person and you'll love chatting with her while getting your treatments! I will be a client for life! read more

I just had a Botox treatment by Debra a week ago and the result is amazing! Not only have the lines between my eyebrows disappeared, but I feel like I got an eyebrow lift. My eyes look brighter. I look VERY well rested. My whole face just looks SO much better now. Botox really is a miracle treatment and Debra really knows how the product well. I had a tiny crease that she noticed on my chin and with a single injection, it is gone... really. And, as far as pain goes, instead of an ice pack, she uses a really cool (literally) roller (looks like a small paint roller) that she keeps in the freezer so it's way colder than ice and is so much more effective at keeping the discomfort extremely low. read more

I did a lot of research and tried numerous of products to help with my fine lines around my eyes and forehead and finally decided to give Botox a try! I found multiple outstanding reviews on Debbie and saw that she was an expert injector through the allergan website which eased my fears tremendously. I know people look at the price and deals and ultimately go elsewhere just for the deals but I would NEVER just let anybody inject my face! Debbie made me feel so beautiful and I have a beautiful natural boost! I will never go to anybody else. But for the deals which I also look for I feared I wouldn't be able to afford the upkeep until Kelly introduced to me at my first appointment was the Brilliant Distinctions program where you earn points each time you come and when you buy certain products like the skin medica line. When I got to check out Kelly made sure to ask me if I had any points and found multiple discounts for me I ended up saving 95$!!!! I even said I LOVE YOU! Worst Customer Service Experience. Called and made an appointment for one consultation, inquired about additional services. Girl sounded busy and said she would "call me back in 10 mins." 3 hours later during dinner she called. I returned the call the next day to schedule the 2nd consultation, the other girl that answered the phone had no record of the 1st appointment and wasn't willing to check with the 1st girl who made the appointment or work wtih me to find an appointment near the original one I scheduled.
