It was a first for hubby and my SIL is a long time customer of Ashley's. She has also done my MIL's haircut and color which also turned out great. This location is a new location but you can see how much attention is put forth in the decor and ambience in this cute salon. It took less than a half hour for my hubs to get fully tan. He has been feeling down with life changes and getting this tan done has really lifted his spirits! Something about getting tan does wonders to your soul! I had a small emergency pop up just before my appointment, but I called in to notify her that I would be 40 mins late. When I showed up, I asked to confirm that my appointment was from 10am to 2pm as it was stated in my confirmed appointment through Miabel. Unfortunately, I was told it was actually an hour shorter. That was problem number 1. I showed pictures of what I wanted for my hair and makeup, and Liza went to work on my hair. I was turned away from the mirror most of the time, so I didn't get a chance to look at the work in progress. At the end of it all, I asked to see the back, and to my utter surprise, it looked like a bird's nest. I was mortified but kindly asked if it would be smoothed out, frizziness resolved, and pieces tucked into place better. The answer was yes, but I'm just so shocked that even a trial that I paid so much money ended up in such an ugly mess. The makeup session was fine, but I felt as if my stylist was angry with me. She was rough on my face, dabbing foundation on like I was a brick wall, and haphazardly applying eye shadow in a rough fashion. The result looked fine, but it still wasn't what I wanted. I asked for darker eye shadow, which she continued to correct, but when I asked for no lip liner outline and instead a blended lip color, I still ended up with a frame of lip liner around my lips. Overall, I felt so ugly that day. I literally went out and cried, thinking how could I go back and pay even more money to look awful on my wedding day? I booked a new patient appointment on January 7 and received multiple confirmations, including a text reminder on January 15 and a confirmed appointment visible in the patient portal for Friday, January 23 at 3:30 PM. I recently had to relocate and specifically drove back for this appointment. When I arrived, the office was closed. I called the number provided and was routed to another location, where I was repeatedly told that no appointment existed and that I had never been scheduled. Only after I told them I had a screenshot of the confirmation text and asked where to email it did the tone change. Once they saw the screenshot, I was told there was "a glitch in the system" and that the issue would be escalated to a regional director and someone who manages the online scheduling platform. As of now, I am still waiting to hear back from anyone. What's most concerning is that without that text message, I would have been completely dismissed and told the appointment never existed -- even though it clearly did. The system allowed an appointment to be booked, confirmed, displayed in the portal, and then vanish with no notice. This wasn't a minor inconvenience. I rearranged my schedule and drove a significant distance for this visit. For a medical organization of this size, this level of breakdown in scheduling and communication is unacceptable. I would strongly advise anyone booking here to save screenshots of all confirmations, because without proof, it appears your appointment may simply disappear.
