This was one of the most frustrating and concerning healthcare experiences I've had, and it appears to be a systemic issue -- not an isolated mistake. I booked a new patient appointment on January 7 and received multiple confirmations, including a text reminder on January 15 and a confirmed appointment visible in the patient portal for Friday, January 23 at 3:30 PM. I recently had to relocate and specifically drove back for this appointment. When I arrived, the office was closed. I called the number provided and was routed to another location, where I was repeatedly told that no appointment existed and that I had never been scheduled. Only after I told them I had a screenshot of the confirmation text and asked where to email it did the tone change. Once they saw the screenshot, I was told there was "a glitch in the system" and that the issue would be escalated to a regional director and someone who manages the online scheduling platform. As of now, I am still waiting to hear back from anyone. What's most concerning is that without that text message, I would have been completely dismissed and told the appointment never existed -- even though it clearly did. The system allowed an appointment to be booked, confirmed, displayed in the portal, and then vanish with no notice. This wasn't a minor inconvenience. I rearranged my schedule and drove a significant distance for this visit. For a medical organization of this size, this level of breakdown in scheduling and communication is unacceptable. I would strongly advise anyone booking here to save screenshots of all confirmations, because without proof, it appears your appointment may simply disappear. read more

BERMAN INSTITUTE CAMERON PARK. FALLON LOPEZ is the name of the provider who administers fillers. Very unprofessional and unskilled provider to avoid.. I had an undereye treatment performed by this very unprofessional, unskilled and very rude provider. The results were asymmetrical with 3 dots under my left eye which reflects an uneven product administration. More products was injected under 1 eye than the other. I contacted her manager by email and never received a reply, which reflects unprofessional customer service. I have had filler treatments for the past 15 years at different offices throughout Northern California and Nevada and this provider is by far the worst. read more

Ask to see Allen After my dermatologist retired three years ago I've had a hard time finding anyone that treated me like an actual person. Dermatologists seem interested only in doing costly cosmetic procedure. For them actual skin problems are charily work, especially Medicare. This entirely understandable, but it's no fun being processed like a piece of spoiled meat and spit out of the office as quickly as possible. The Berman Skin Institute with an emphasis on cosmetic surgery and hair transplants did not seem promising, but that's where I could get in. I was examined and treated by Allen, a Physician's Assistant at the Cameron Park office. He was exactly the opposite of what I'd come to expect: friendly, personable and more thorough than I expected. He explained things carefully and understandably; even things I'd been unaware of, and provided expert treatment.
