I've been a resident here for four years now, as of this May, and I can honestly say it's been a wonderful experience. Over the years, we've seen a few changes in office staff, but the team we have in place now. Tiasha, Angel, Brian and of course Ray, is by far the best we've had. I truly wouldn't ask for a better group of people managing this building. Now, let me take a moment to brag about Ray because he is truly the heart and soul of this community. Ray is one of those rare people who goes above and beyond in everything he does. He's not just attentive. He's genuinely invested in making sure every resident feels heard, supported, and valued. Whether it's a concern about building updates, or simply greeting you with a smile and asking how your day is going, Ray always delivers with kindness and professionalism. What I appreciate most is how effortlessly he connects with people. He remembers names, details, and conversations, and you can tell he truly cares. Ray also throws the best events for our building. And I do mean the best. Whether it's holiday parties, themed socials, or casual get togethers, you can count on Ray to plan something fun, welcoming, and thoughtful. He makes sure no one feels left out and always finds a way to bring the community together in a way that feels genuine. I also want to take a moment to mention Malana, who used to be our full-time evening concierge. She was amazing! She was always warm, welcoming, and attentive to residents. She made coming home in the evenings feel personal and safe, and she will definitely be missed around here. I honestly wish she'd come back full-time, but I understand and wish her nothing but the best. I'm truly happy and honored to call her a friend. When it comes to maintenance, Martin is hands down my go to guy. He truly cares about the residents and the quality of his work. Whenever something needs to be repaired or looked at in my apartment, Martin is always on it. What I appreciate most is that if he doesn't have the tool or part he needs, he makes it a priority to track it down so the job gets done the right way. His work ethic and positive attitude don't go unnoticed, and it makes a huge difference in the overall living experience here. As for the amenities. I absolutely love them. In my opinion, we have the best view in all of Oakland. From our rooftop, you can see the entire city skylyne, and it's truly breathtaking, especially at sunset. The rooftop grilling area is another favorite of mine; I use the grills every summer for family cookouts and get togethers with friends. But my ultimate favorite space has to be the sky kitchen. It's my go to spot whenever I'm hosting an event. The setup is perfect, the atmosphere is inviting, and it's just such a beautiful space to create memories in. All in all, living here has been an amazing experience, and it's largely because of the great office staff, reliable maintenance team, and top notch amenities. Updating my review here to say I've been living at The Skylyne for quite a few years and honestly, I don't see myself leaving here anytime soon. The staff all around is helpful, nice and thoughtful. The staff has been great such as Angel, Tiasha, Brian and Ray. They take care of the residents, listen to our concerns and also always open to feedback. The concierge team is the first stop for everything in this space, and honestly they have a solid crew now. With Ratasha taking the lead, we have Neveah, Malena and newly to the team Rene. They have truly stepped up and have to deal with so much consistently by residents and non residents alike, so I'm very thankful for them! The maintenance team is amazing, Martin and Ricardo are really my savers of the day! They're friendly, helpful, attentive and a true dream team. We can't forget also Maliek and Sam as well! In general I've enjoyed living here, amenities and great, great staff, friendly and I feel like I've truly found a home, so thank you for doing all that you can to make your residents happy. read more

What can I say on this beautiful brand new (ish) building that I call home... Let me see... I am blessed that I am here at this gorgeous luxury living apartment at the heart of Temescal (& Mosswood) Oakland for many reasons. There is a sense of neighborhood within the building. People are nice, diverse and genuinely very civil with everyone else. I do also boast of the amenities that this building have. From the common workspaces and gym at the 5th floor, the theater at the 6th floor, sky deck area and pool at the 15th floor, there has a lot that this building have to offer. I moved here and settled as the first occupant of the current apartment at the 10th floor overseeing the SF city at my window. I loved it! The time has come to renew my lease as I have been here more than 2 years going on my third. My decision has been made easy with the things I shared to you but most importantly with the most friendliest and helpful group of staff and building management that I have met in my life. Now that I am about to sign another 14 months with Skylyne, I made sure that the best management headed by Bryan and Tiasha, together with Ray and most especially Angel (who is helping me transfer) stays. The amenities and the building will sell itself. But the people that manages it to make sure that you are heard and cared for as a tenant matters more. If you haven't made a decision to which apartment you will move, make it The Skylyne at Temescal. You will enjoy every minute of your lease! Your security team (African American female) came in on our private party at 9:23 on 12/11 and asked us per Oakland ordinance to turn our music off at 9pm on a private event on a space you provided for us and our friends to use. One of our guests asked her what the ordinance was and she couldn't explain. She only said she was doing her job. We were on your property in a reserved space. So we would have known. She then proceeded to record us on her personal device without our consent for no reason. If this is the type of security you claim to have, you don't know what security entails. We (tenants and friends) are suppose to feel safe with your decision but instead you made us feel unsafe. Thank you for an unwelcoming time for what was suppose to be a celebration for our friend. read more

The staff at the community has been so friendly and accommodating throughout the leasing process and moving in. Malik and Ray both spent a ton of time helping us decide on our new place and they were super patient through the whole process. Isabella and Tasha helped us on move in day and made sure we had everything we needed to make the move in smooth. Since moving in, Ricardo, Sam, Martin, and Grisby on the maintenance team have all come by to assist with little things in the apartment and were so quick and friendly. The neighborhood is great too! We just walked a couple blocks to a beer garden and there is a ton to do on Telegraph. Looking forward to making this apartment our home. read more

The Skylyne at Temescal - Apartments Near Me - Oakland, California

There have been four separate car break-ins/property theft incidents in The Skylyne parking structure in the past week alone that I am personally aware of. They have repeatedly ignored calls for added security while their garage door remains broken and direct residents who payed for secure garage parking who are the victims of property crime to take it up with their insurance companies. We were falsely told by Skylyne leasing agents before we moved in here that there were multiple guards on duty at all times and that the garage was secure or we would not have moved here. It's a dangerous neighborhood and the situation is only going to get worse as long as building management keeps failing to take our safety seriously. read more

Generally speaking, I've been happy living here. The location is great, the staff both front office & groundskeeping are wonderful, and the concierge team is incredible & helpful. This would be a 5-star review if it wasn't for the below. I've been a resident here for the last year & while Buzutto has done way better than Greystar did to manage this building, they have instated ridiculous policies that punish the entire community rather than the guests/residents who are the origin of the problem in the first place. One of the primary reasons I signed a lease with this building was because of the incredible amenities made available. Since then, there has been a catastrophic flood caused by a pipe explosion damaging the co-working space & 2 of the rooftop lounges. On top of the fact that the amenities are now under construction & likely won't be restored for another several months. On top of that & worst of all, they have instated a RIDICULOUS curfew policy that locks residents out of amenities such as the the movie screening room, poker lounge & rooftop at 10 PM every night....I'm going to say that again... 10 PM. Don't consider this building if you expect the autonomy of an adult to enjoy the amenities here as an adult. This curfew policy makes me feel like I'm living in university housing all over again. The building managers here create policies that punish the majority of respectful tenants & don't create consequences for those that are the true source of the problems they are seeking to solve. read more

Malik gave a great tour of Skylyne and I was accepted for a currently-occupied unit that would be available in two months. But Isabella Easton, the assistant general manager, insisted that I had to immediately sign a blank move-in checklist. Isabella insists that signing the move-in checklist right now is mandatory and signing it is just "stating there will be a move in inspection" (her words). But the actual text preceding the signature section makes it very clear that signing is a legal contract accepting the state of the unit as documented by the checklist at the time of signing. Here's the actual text: "In signing below, you accept this inventory as part of the Lease Contract and agree that it accurately reflects the condition of the premises for purposes of determining any refund due to you when you move out." Of course I expect a move-in inspection prior to getting keys to the unit. But it is ludicrous to expect a tenant to sign a blank move-in inspection checklist while the current residents still have 2 months left on their lease. Since Isabella either does not understand what she is demanding or is too incompetent to resolve such a trivial problem, I've completely lost faith in Skylyne's management and will be renting elsewhere. read more

The Skylyne is a wonderful place to live. The units are stylish and modern and the amenities are plentiful, clean and always up to date. The building has multiple screening rooms, a rooftop pool, lounges, terraces, and a wheel works area for bike maintenance. What more do you need? Not to mention, your pets will be treated like royalty! There is a paw spa and a woof deck for your beloved animals. We've been living at Skylyne for over a year now and are really enjoying it. There were a few issues when we first moved in but things improved significantly when the new management company Bozzuto took over several months ago. My wife and I have had past experience with the two other big apartment management companies in the bay area and really hated the service and community experience. You move into fantastic modern building and those companies treat you like royalty as 'prospects' but soon after you sign the lease you realize that your status is demoted to 'tenant' at which point you are of little interest to the front desk. They are in the business of getting leases signed with no great interest in retention. Happily, it's not like that at all here at Skylyne! The front desk is exceptionally helpful and the 24 hour concierge service is always friendly, focused on security and ensuring that you get your packages and so forth. We are especially fond of Tasha! Many of the door dashers like to just drop food off at the desk and run off without completing the delivery. When my wife was pregnant and in dire need of fried chicken from Brenda's, Trisha always made sure that the food made its way directly to our door! In fact, once when a dasher just left the food outside at the wrong door, Trisha went above and beyond to try and locate it for us. She also makes sure that all our packages are quickly logged and neatly organized for us to pickup. And we always enjoy chatting with her coming in and out of the building. Day to day it's all these little things that count and we really appreciate it. On top of that, the building is always clean and well maintained thanks to Ricardo, Anthony and the cleaning staff. There are periodic social events and surprise goodies like wine, donuts, and other treats. The staff, Jessie in particular, does a great job of organizing nice little events where you have a chance to meet your neighbors. The vibe here is very friendly. Building and Management: I've lived here just about 7 months and finally feel I have enough experience as a tenant to give a solid recommendation. This place has gone through many recent challenges over time due to factors such as Covid health restrictions, occupancy increases, parking snafus, pet/owner issues, etc. you name it and I'd have to say the building management, for the most part , has always done their best to put the interests of the tenants first to ensure a very positive experience here. Despite some recent Draconian approaches, which I hope change soon, towards usage of and the closure of many amenities. Most concerning for me is the pool deck with the hot tub which are now completely closed at 10pm. I have found most tenants say they like living here in this building. Key Staff: Special shout outs to some key staff that have really made this a truly enjoyable and livable space. Ricardo, who is the Maintenance Manager has really come to the rescue many times for not only me, but other tenants in need at at some of the most brutal early morning hours to save the day or rather night in some cases. He has enabled some our key high maintenance requiring items important to us i.e. grills/pool/hot tub/deck area amenities to stay working and get back online quickly when notified. Our lead concierge and security person, Tasha, I notice everyday always goes above and beyond her normal duties which impresses me daily. I'm so glad we have Tasha for she absolutely contributes to make this place a truly great place to live. And lastly, I am happy because this place is kept neat and clean. Our building's Porter, Anthony, is ever watchful and relentlessly keeps our common areas clean. Not an easy task for we have very many floors and common spaces which see quite a bit of use. I love living at Skylyne! The location is great with it being super close to MacArthur. I can't say enough about the staff. In particular, Tasha at the front desk is really personable and always fun to have a conversation with. The place is always clean and well kept. I would also like to mention that Anthony does a great job with helping out with keeping the place spotless. The views are amazing on the roof and it's stacked with a giant chess set, a giant connect 4, and corn hole! They have a gym full of equipment for whatever your workout needs are. Not to mention Skylyne has a theater room whenever you what to blast Christopher Nolan movies on a giant screen. 100% would recommend. read more

Your E-mail will be ignored or responded to super late, which never helps you have a great living experience. Also, they randomly change their amenity time randomly. When a random party made a mess of the public amenities, all they did was just send an E-mail. They never tried to figure that out correctly for "residences." read more

I have been living at Skylyne now for 6 months and I am disappointed with the concierge's treatment to the residents.I brought out our old neighbors package that was delivered to us by mistake and asked the concierge to help and she responded in a very rude and condescending manner to me. Aldrin was very kind and professional from my first viewing to actually moving into The Skylyne. He made the application process and moving in feel seamless and easy. After being on the housing hunt for months, I have been very thankful to have had so much help and kindness from the staff here. When I moved in, I had a maintenance request that was filled and fixed the next day. The staff is always so welcoming and kind when I leave and come back, I really feel seen here which is crazy with such a large building. Tasha and Fatima have been more than kind and welcoming here, they have both went out of their ways to make this space feel warm and welcoming, I would have never thought I would like living in a condominium, but it really does feel like community. And the pool/hot tub is amazing after a long day of work. It's really beautiful! My dog also loves being able to meet other dogs which is unbeatable. read more

The Skylyne is an oasis in Temescal with clean, modern apartments, great amenities, and spectacular views. I feel positive energy whenever I enter my apartment overlooking the San Francisco skyline. It's also a great base to access the entire Bay Area, with a one-seat ride on BART to almost every station in the system, from San Francisco to San Jose to Berkeley to Walnut Creek. I had a very pleasant move-in experience. Jesse was extremely friendly and patient as I toured the building and reviewed my lease, and I look forward to seeing him at the resident events. Aldrin sits near the door and is a friendly face when I enter or leave the building. And Tasha goes above and beyond; not only is she an extremely friendly concierge who tries to learn everyone's names, but she is extremely helpful for everything I need, from teaching me how to operate the freight elevator to processing mail in the mail room to opening the loading dock for bulk trash / cardboard disposal. Tasha makes me feel at home at The Skylyne. One issue, though, is temporary/guest parking. I do not have my own vehicle in the garage, but sometimes I want to park a rental car over the weekend. Street parking and the BART garage are subject to parking enforcement with complicated rules. I wish that management would set aside some spaces in the Skylyne garage that residents could reserve for a day at a time. read more

Part of my New Years resolution this year is to be more grateful, kind and deliberate. The past year has been so very intense and for lack of a more positive word, dark. Globally. I know these reviews are supposed to be light and fluffy but this one is just going to be real. The Skylyne, for me, has been beyond accommodating and gracious since the day I moved in. The one constant has been the woman I see very evening when I come home and who makes my family feel welcome and safe when they visit, Tasha is the concierge here. The office staff have been wonderful too but it's her I encounter on a daily basis and I know that we all feel the same here. She watched out for everyone who goes out at night or is new to the are. I've interacted mostly with Aldrin from the initial visit and throughout the moving process, exemplary service as is Tasha. The team in general at Temescal are prompt at responding, have a great attitude and are amenable. The amenities are as expected, the property is well kept, and noise level is minimal and is central to everything (groceries, restaurants, public trans, neighboring cities (Berkeley & Emeryville), easy access to/from freeway. The only downside is lack of property parking, you're at the mercy of parking at Bart or the street. The developer didn't consider having ample parking equal to the number of apartment, so you're on a waitlist for price gouging of $300/month. Parking at other apartment properties provide 1 space as part of lease rental or within a nominal fee of $50-75/month. The Mac Arthur Bart station parking lot does need cleaning services, as it is unkept, random garbage (peoples left over and sometimes you'll find a mattress) and smashed up windows don't match the neighboring buildings/developments. read more

THIS PLACE IS NOT SAFE. In Feb 2022 my 14 year old son and I moved into The Skylyne at Temescal in Oakland. I thought it would be a fun place to live after a hard few years quarantined. The building was clean, apartments were beautiful, and the roof top pool a huge bonus. Unfortunately, within 4 or 5 months of us living there, another tenant began making sexually inappropriate comments to my son when he saw him, as well as offering him drugs and alcohol. The first time it happened he told my son that he knew the apartment he and I lived in, making an already very uncomfortable and scary situation even scarier. I spoke to one of the managers multiple times and let him know about the incidents and informed him that I was going to move out, because neither my son nor I felt safe continuing to live there. He blew me off stating ' sometimes people do things like that when they are drunk', and 'that guy is harmless'. After getting nowhere speaking to them, I emailed the main manager and told him what happened and gave my notice. He never responded. I then sent a certified letter as well as filled out their move out checklist on the tenant portal. I paid rent for a few months AFTER I had moved out as I was waiting for some acknowledgment from them. When they finally did acknowledge me, they took no steps to mitigate their damages as required by law in these situations. Not only did they want me to pay for the remainder of the year lease which had 5 months left, but they now have a credit agency saying I owe them over $20,000. Far more than what I would have paid if I continued to live there. read more

I'm a resident of this building and I just wanna say I've had a very pleasant experience living here since moving to California in April of 2021. There was a change in management sometime in July or August of 2021 and I'm even more pleased with the building after the changes they made to improve the resident experience. Tyler, the lead property management is a very cool guy and he's always been so nice and helpful with anything I need. I don't remember the names of any of the other management personal of the top of my head but I have no complaints; they all have been very professional and very helpful and responsive. Every single one of the front desk concierges have been amazing as well. One particular front desk lady even went out of her way to help me and my guests clean up and dispose of a healthy amount of waste after I hosted a Christmas party in the 5th floor social lounge (a very nice space by the way). An earlier review complained about this front desk lady because she told them to start shutting down their party and that was because it was after 9pm and all the lounge areas in the building close at 10pm. I can attest to this because this was the same day I hosted my Christmas party and this front desk lady asked me to start turning down the music and cleaning up around 9pm. She was in no way rude or being discriminatory against the other residents party. She was just following the building rules and enforcing them. read more
