So, when it comes to my teeth being healthy and looking good I trust Dr. Wurmlinger 100%. I inherited my Daddy's bad genes when it comes to my teeth. I do what I'm told, "brush twice or 3 times a day and floss, etc.," but it seems like I'm always having an issue. Dr. Wurmlinger is never surprised when it comes to my teeth, God bless his heart. At least, he doesn't show me if he's panicking. He's always been so kind and encouraging and supportive, especially when I'm freaking out. I've even had to call him over the weekend for a tooth emergency. Thank God I wasn't in pain, but I'd lost my front temporary tooth so I couldn't leave my house until it was fixed. It was on a Friday in the late afternoon and he was on his way to Virginia. He asked me if I could meet him at the office Saturday morning. When I got there Saturday morning, one of his very talented assistants was there, as well as him. He had come all the back home from his trip just to help me glue my temporary tooth back on to get me through the weekend. I don't know anyone else who's going to do that for a patient. He didn't have to take time to think about it. He heard my message and knew he was coming home to help me. To get that kind of priceless service and the level of perfectionism that he provides is such a rare commodity, especially these days. I appreciate him more than he'll ever know, and I'll never see another dentist. I hope he doesn't plan on retiring during my lifetime. Without question, he is THE BEST.

Because of Dr. Wurmlinger's expertise and precision replacing decades old bonding for a veneer on my front tooth, I am now able to confidently smile. Everyone from the front desk staff to insurance verification was quick and easy. My Insurnace was even verified before I arrived for my first appointment. Dr. Godwin was thorough and caring during my new patient exam and the X-Ray tech was gentle and patient with me. After my first visit I had a detailed treatment plan and got lucky and was able to schedule my fillings and cleaning for the following day. Kandiss was my hygienist and was caring and thorough. The assistant to Dr. Godwin ensured that the numbing was complete before I received any shots and for the first time I didn't even feel them. The work Dr. Godwin performed for my filings is amazing. They are perfectly smooth and unnoticeable. Overall I had an excellent experience and highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a caring and efficient office. This was by far the best experience I've had with any dentist since moving to the Carolina's 8 years ago.

The dentist I saw was incredibly kind and thorough. She conducted a comprehensive checkup to ensure there were no signs of infection or inflammation, and even ordered a CT scan of my teeth to make sure nothing was missed. After discussing the numbness and its progression, she gently suggested that it might be Bell's Palsy. However, to rule out the very slight chance of a stroke, she advised me to have someone take me to the emergency room immediately. The staff were all extremely kind and professional, and they asked only that I call and update them on my condition after my ER visit. I felt genuinely cared for, and I believe that level of care is the best any industry can offer its customers. Oh and it is Bell's Palsy. I should be right as rain in a few weeks to a few months.

Bully and refused to clean my teeth over pricey mouthwash!!!!!…read more I had a very uncomfortable and unprofessional experience at this Ideal Dental location. They refused to perform a basic teeth cleaning because I did not want to pay $200 for a mouthwash that was supposedly required to numb my mouth during the cleaning. I go to the dentist every six months, and this was the first time I've ever had inflamed gums. I was told this "special" mouthwash was necessary, which did not seem reasonable to me. The financial staff made me feel pressured and bullied when I asked about getting work done before 2026. The interaction was extremely uncomfortable. When I later called back on December 26 to clarify some charges, I was told the supervisor would not be available until January 15, 2025, and the acting manager I spoke with was unable to clearly explain the process. She incorrectly stated that my new benefits would not start until January 1, 2026, and that the proposed treatment would use up all of my 2026 benefits, which did not make sense. Previously, another staff member had told me that if I waited until the new year, the cost would be cheaper--but that statement was later retracted. To get clarity, I contacted another Ideal Dental location. They reviewed my account and confirmed that the original information I was given was correct and that the acting manager at this location was wrong. My insurance company also confirmed the same information. Due to the conflicting information, poor communication, and unprofessional behavior, I no longer trust this location and would not recommend it.

My wife recommended me to Dr. Langdon's office and I have not been disappointed. The staff is friendly as you arrive to check in, and Lauren, the hygienist I had was super professional and explained most things to me beforehand to see if I had any questions. It had been close to two years since my last appointment, so some follow-up work was needed (woof). It was very easy to schedule and Dr. Langdon was super quick when doing my fillings. I highly recommend him to anyone in the market for a dentist.

First, I really appreciate how the staff know who I am, even though I only come in once every 6 months. It means a lot that they engage in conversation and genuinely care about me. The facility is beautiful and very welcoming, although I never get to wait in the lobby because all my appointments have started on-time. This really helps me plan my work day appropriately. Amber is the hygienist I usually see and she is excellent. We always have great conversations that pick up right where we left off last time. Dr. Langdon himself is fantastic! After my very first visit, Dr. Langdon personally called to see how I was doing and thank me for coming in. I always feel like I'm getting excellent care and a straight-forward, honest opinion. Last year, I needed a crown (yes, I'm putting that out there!). At no point did I question his judgement of whether I needed the crown, as I had a pretty deep cavity in a tooth that could not be repaired with a filling. Dr. Langdon has advanced technology that allows him to design the crown, custom-make the crown, and install it all in one visit. No temps and no follow-up appointments. I was all set in one day and have not had any problems since then. I will continue to see Dr. Langdon and his incredible staff. Thank you for taking good care of me!

Years of Avoidable Harm--Tooth Loss, Jaw Injury, and Dismissive Care…read more This office's pattern of poor communication and high-pressure tactics has lessened the quality of my life as well as cost me thousands of dollars for visits and night guards. In late October/early November 2019, I had an apicoectomy on tooth #9 with John D. Wells, DDS at 16600 Birkdale Commons Parkway, Huntersville, NC 28078. I followed all aftercare to the letter, rinsing faithfully with the prescribed cleanser. After the first procedure, I started feeling pain and discomfort in the tooth area after drinking cool water, so I contacted the office right away. Dr. Wells had me come back for him to take a look. He then determined he needed to redo the apicoectomy. Afterward, I asked what the problem was, and he explained that the dissolvable sutures from the initial surgery hadn't dissolved, so he removed them manually. He assured me healing was on track, but by early 2020, persistent infection forced me to need an extraction and an implant, which was both costly and heartbreaking, especially at my age for a front tooth. I was 80 years old going through all of this. I was never told about the threat of infection, and only learned later that undissolved sutures can trap bacteria and lead to failures like this; and that dentists should proactively remove them themselves to avoid such risks. Had I known, I might have pushed for that upfront or chosen differently--but trusting the process, I returned to the same practice in 2022 for a root canal on tooth #8. That's when things worsened dramatically. During packing placement, the assistant demanded I open my mouth much wider to keep it dry, using scare tactics: she warned that if I didn't, "it would have to be redone." Again, I am an older patient, and it was very clear this assistant dd not care about me as a patient, and had no interest in a reasonable bedside manner. Fresh off the 2019 trauma, I felt pressured and complied to open as wide as possible, despite visible distress in my eyes, as she took her time. The strain immediately triggered pain and discomfort, and I was soon diagnosed with a displaced TMJ disc--causing relentless muscle spasms, a sensation like my jaw is off its hinge, difficulty speaking, and chronic agony requiring therapy and meds. After contacting Dr. Wells numerous times with my distress and concerns, he dismissed them outright, claiming the assistant "didn't force my mouth open or threaten me with a gun." No empathy, no accountability--just deflection. As I said before, this office's pattern of poor communication (e.g., not warning about dissolvable suture risks) and high-pressure tactics has lessened the quality of my life as well as cost me thousands of dollars for visits and night guards. The initial staff seemed friendly, but the care felt reactive at best. If you're reading this, ask upfront about materials and removal plans, get consents in writing, and trust your instincts--if something feels off, walk away. I wish I'd switched endodontists sooner; now I see one who actually listens. Proceed with extreme caution here.

I just had my second root canal here in five years. It was no big deal…read more People think root canals are a big deal, but that's due to old technology. Other than the needle being stuck into my gums at the beginning to numb the pain, this was 100% painless. Same as five years ago. I also learned that flossing is 10x more important than brushing your teeth. Brushing only gets the surfaces and gums. Flossing gets rid of the plaque that leads to bacteria and infection. Excess plaque has also been linked to Alzheimer's and heart disease. Great info, friendliness, and overall customer service here. Or you can call it bedside manner. Whatever you want to call it, Dr. Wells and his staff are highly recommended if you're seeking an endodontist.
