I've been wanting to try the new arepas at The Smiling Crocodile, and they were awesome! I had the chicken, and it exceeded my expectations. It was soft and flavorful, though a tad on the salty side. The plantain chips were as expected. My husband had the pork, which he enjoyed, but it did have a pool of grease in the wrapper.

What an incredible find! This was incredibly flavorful and delicious! Definitely a must get at animal kingdom!

While the service was quick, and food, that's where the excitement ended. Chips and salsa/queso were good, but the ratio was way off. The tacos lacked seasoning and were dry.

The barbacoa nachos are DELICIOUS! Grab a fork because they are a little messy. Everything works together so well and it's easily a shareable snack!

The ambiance was very fitting and cozy, better than most restaurants. Still being in a good price range and not too expensive. Very nice people and place. 10/10! 5 Stars!

Disclaimer: this review is for the lunch buffet only…read more I went with my family to try the $18.49 all you can eat lunch buffet. This was my first time experiencing a buffet for hispanic food and for this price point in Orlando, this is an amazing value deal. The server regularly brought us out silverware, napkins, and refilled our water. The place is decorated very fun and plays latin music which was lovely Not only was there an unlimited assortment of lunch foods, but an entire bar of fresh toppings for tacos (or rice bowls) and made to order desserts which were included for free! Not everything on the buffet line was the best but given the amount of options, price, and how good the great items are this is still worth a five star rating. I unfortunately did not take pictures of the food before I began devouring everything in sight to the point of near-collapse, but I will do a quick rundown of the buffet highlights: The best meats were the fajita steak, chicken, and shrimp made fresh in cast iron skillets, as well as the chicken lengua which was super flavorful and tender. The mexican rice, beans, fajitas, plantains, and street corn were also excellent. Fresh quesadillas, chips, and corn tortillas on standby with homemade queso and salsas. The flan and mini churros were the best I've ever had. Super rich, decadent Carmel flan. Mini churros hot and crisp on the outside, filled with a gooey soft milk chocolate center. They were delicious. Items that were disappointing: the tamales, mini chicken flautas, and beef chimichangas were just okay, lacking the seasoning and flavor that other dishes had. The beef barbacoa was not as tender or flavorful as the shredded chicken surprisingly. The mixed seafood was itself a mixed bag with some shrimps / scallops overcooked to much while others were perfectly cooked. The chicken mole and beef tri tip were room temperature despite sitting on hot plates. The tri tip also varied widely in doneness throughout the slices and not super tender. The rice pudding was pretty standard, and the tres leches cake was weird as they crumbled the cake into pieces before soaking it.

That should probably tell you something. I started with the chips and green chile queso, and it was fantastic. The kind of queso where you tell yourself you're just going to have a little, and then suddenly you're scraping the bottom of the bowl wondering where it all went. For tacos, I went with a breakfast taco and the Republican, Trashy Style. The Republican is a brisket taco, and I replaced the lettuce with queso because apparently I have decided that vegetables are optional when there is queso available. That turned out to be an excellent decision. The food here is just excellent. Fresh, tasty, and absolutely bursting with flavor. Everything I'm looking for when I go out to eat. And yes, I know this is a quick-serve restaurant. But sometimes quick serve gets a bad rap. When the food is this fresh and this good, I don't care if I'm ordering at a counter or being served by someone in a tuxedo. I went out of my way to get to Torchy's in Orlando, and I would absolutely do it again. Five stars.

The restaurant was pretty empty when I went, and I'd say the food took somewhere between 6-10 minutes to come out. There's a huge menu to choose from, so it's definitely worth stopping by and trying whatever sounds good. I know my favorite is their queso! Unfortunately, this location didn't have the fried cookie dough bites for dessert, which I loved growing up. Hopefully they haven't been discontinued everywhere!

Their margarita menu is incredible with so many unique options to try, from the avocado margarita to the classic top-shelf selections, and every drink is made perfectly. My absolute favorite is the spicy cucumber margarita. It's refreshing, flavorful, and has just the right kick without being overpowering. I genuinely think about this margarita long after leaving Disney. And I have to mention the chips & salsa! Seriously some of the best salsa I've ever had. Fresh, flavorful, and the perfect thing to snack on while sipping margaritas. If you're doing the World Showcase, this spot is an absolute must-visit. Easy 5 stars every single time.
