I would give them 6 stars if I could,. Mo is a wonderful, honest stand up guy! I took my daughters car to him after another shop told her it failed because it was "not ready" and charged her the full price for that. Mo checked her on board computer and got the same result however it took him about 2 minutes to do that and he referred me to a master mechanic just a few doors away who gave me the free advice about exactly how the car had to be driven (at a steady pace between 50 & 55 mph for at least 30 miles) if we had gone to him in the first place we would have saved the cost of the first useless smog check. High praise should go to all hardworking people who do their jobs with honesty and integrity. read more

I have been coming here for about 5 yrs and have received nothing but great service. Unfortunately, I believe this business got sold and a few grumpy men took over. I showed up around 5:33pm and asked to get a smog. I was answered with a few simple words "We are closed" and "tomorrow". I proceeded to ask what time they closed b/c the sign said 6:00pm (no cars/customers were in the shop). He answered me with a simple "tomorrow". Horrible customer service. Luckily I found a new smog test on Ruether Ave, "Fast smog test only" Won't be back here again. You have been warned!! read more

I have a Ford Explorer 1999 and I never had to do my Smog before. My husband has been taking my car all these years. Finally I decided to do it myself this year. Tried one place and they made me wait for half an hour before I am even asked for what I need. Finally I came across this coupon online for The Smogshop. I did NOT nor would I EVER get my car serviced here. I have a $25 off coupon, called and whomever picked up the phone at 11:30am was rude and as he hung up said F_____ her or it!!! I had asked how much they charge with that coupon, was quoted $45 AFTER coupon, told him that is more than other places are charging WITHOUT a coupon! He told me , "Take it there then". I said I will, and as he hung up on me heard him say F____! I called back and told him I heard what he said and was hung up on!! If service was free I would not take my car to the rude SOB who spoke to me that way. Update to owners response...the tech is not being truthful. He used profanity as he was hanging up the phone. I heard him use the "F"word! That's why I called back to tell him I heard what he said. He was very impolite the way he told me to take my car elsewhere. Very unprofessional. Very rude! Unfortunately, I would not recommend this shop to anyone. The technician who worked on our car manually failed it for "tampering" with the vehicle. The reason was for "after market" intake and header exhaust. We didn't notice this until we got home. So we called the shop. The technician said they automatically fail anyone with aftermarket intake and headers. Mind you, our car passed the emission test. Our car has passed all inspections for the past 9 years, and the after market parts have never been an issue. All he could say was he is just doing his job. Now we have to print paperwork from the manufacturer showing that the parts are "legal". A place with good customer service would do that for their customers. read more

Came here on a Sunday because they were one of the few smog places open on sundays. They opened right on time. Eli helped me out. Got truck outta there in 20 mins. He was friendly and did his job quickly. I showed him I had a c.a.r.b. Sticker for my aftermarket intake and it wasn't a problem. After he inspected everything we were finished! With Yelp discount it came to $45. I always get to the places early so I don't have to wait behind other cars because yeah, waiting in line sucks but it's not the business fault. 20 min times 3 people in front of you is an hour wait... be first, no problems. Terrible service. The guy wouldn't even talk to me. Went in for smog. He took my keys. Did the check. Wouldn't even look at me. Filled out the paperwork and charged me. I told him we had a referral for 59.99 and he said ok, wrote 59.99 and then charged a 10.00 certificate fee. Terrible service. Do not go there. read more

Unfortunately customer service is part of any service industry. I'm not sure the man that was working the shop wanted to work that day. I felt like I was inconveniencing him by bringing my car to his shop. I was told that my car made his whole computer system freeze up because the computer system in the car was't responding. While that may have been true or not, it was difficult to understand what had occurred because of his lack of ability to treat me like a human being. I would advise not to bring your vehicle for smog here. I would rather pay more to be treated with better customer service. read more

I took my car in for a smog check for the first time yesterday to this location and i received an exceptional service. I have been to other places for smog checks before, and never did i receive service that went above and beyond... it was always an ordinary smog check. But this time, there was an older gentleman who worked there who had an incredible customer service that i was very impressed by. He was sweet and kind and quick to do my smog check. He said his name is Kamy. The smog shop itself was great and very convenient. They have $25 off coupons on their website and after i presented my coupon, the total for the smog check came out to only $45. And a bonus, it was very quick too. I went to another smog station, and they charged me $60 and failed me due to the check engine light (my gas cap was loose). I came here afterwards, and they checked it, free of charge, saw that it would fail, and told me to drive 30 miles to reset the engine and come back. Free of charge!
