We walked around inside to pass time until closer to our movie start time at the Galaxy Cinema. Both are located inside the Rutherford Mall. London Drugs has everything from computer and electronics to grocery and beauty products to appliances and cleaning supplies but the pharmacy is the heart of their business. It has an interesting history behind it like how it got its name. The store was named after London, England, the home of Canada's King, George VI. Founded in 1945 it started off as a small drugstore to what they are now. We purchased some snacks to take home later. The shelves are fully stocked. It's just the prices aren't really appealing. Many simple items are more expensive than Walmart or Best Buy for example. It's hard to recommend because of that. Shop around before getting something here. I haven't tried their print services lately but in the past they weren't too great, nor were they cheap enough to be worth using again. There isn't much reason to shop here compared to the competitors.

This has been my pharmacy of choice for several years because of the pharmacy manager Carmen. She is so committed to our care. She will not mince words in order to please you or support your friends' garbage health advice. She is no BS, to the point. Too bad for those people who want a butt-kisser, but I'm okay if they go elsewhere to find one. Thank-you for being there for us. Remember: These pharmacy people/staff are working at risk, for our benefit. They are not immune and may fall sick as easily as anyone. Sadly, I keep witnessing some very poor customer behaviour on my visits. I must go regularly, so I see some, too many, customers being unreasonable, demanding and selfish. Shame on you. Behave with honour and have some dignity. Other customers are watching you and know your poor behaviour is so wrong. So I was surprised when I called and asked if it was okay to use my Popeye's money (like canadian tire dollars but for Popeye's) from another franchise in this store they said they'd rather not. It's not that they refused to, but it was a bit of a put off considering this is an incentive to shop there, and I'd been a Popeye's faithful for years. Okay, so whatever. I'm a grown man and can get past that. So I go there looking for my usual-unflavored protein powder of a specific brand that I always got at the mainland Popeye's. They've got vanilla, chocolate, and probably some other flavors, so I ask if they have it in unflavored. The sales individual tells me that they don't make it unflavored. However I'd bought plenty of it in Vancouver- it was the Bio-x brand which is on their website. I felt put off by this inaccuracy since the Salesman seemed to be a manager. I then decided to spend my popeye's bucks on some powdered greens and left. It really surprises me that the Vancouver branches of this store have a better selection of more natural ingredient Powders considering the size of the stores aren't larger. Perhaps it's a demand thing here on the island. Everyone I spoke to who worked there was informative and kind, and quick to help. Overall the prices are pretty good.
