This place has been a hit-or-miss experience for me. I've been coming here 2-3 times a week for the past two months, and the smoothies are usually delicious, with the flavor and consistency I love--except when they're made by the blonde employee. Every time she's prepared my smoothie, it has tasted more like watered-down juice than an actual smoothie. Today was the first time I finally said something because it was almost entirely liquid. She immediately apologized and offered to remake it, which I genuinely appreciated. Unfortunately, even after it was remade, it still lacked the flavor and consistency I normally expect. I'm disappointed because I really enjoy this place and have been a regular customer. After a tough session of physical therapy, I needed a little treat. I walked by The Smoothie Room and decided to stop in! The front of the shop and the seating area is what drew me in. Everything looked so clean and cozy. The holiday decorations were also very well done. The staff greeted me and let me know that they were there to help or make suggestions if I needed, which was very nice. I was in the area and craving a healthy smoothie when I remembered that The Smoothie Room was nearby, which has been on my list to check out for a while. They are a small, locally owned shop specializing in fresh smoothies, pressed juices, and acai/smoothie bowls. They were even featured on Yelp's Top Places to Drink in Orlando list, so I already knew that they were loved by the community. The space is decorated cute with hammock swings and surf vibes. They have a small team operating the shop and preparing smoothies, but everything was coming out pretty quickly. I went with the Go Green smoothie which contains spinach, organic shredded coconut, banana, strawberry, kiwi, and pineapple. It's definitely more on the sweet/fruity side which I prefer, and I'm glad there's some hidden veggies in there that I can't taste. It was exactly what I was looking for. I bought a 16 ounce smoothie at an astronomical price of 15$ the smoothie was not good. I asked if I could exchange it for something else and was told that they do not refund or exchange as part of their policy. This smoothie shop has new owners in town! It offers a beautiful casual atmosphere with single sitting hammocks , couches, and indoor/outdoor sitting. They also offer some merchandise like tumblers and bracelets. The smoothies are delicious, very filling and healthy, some of them have 60g of protein, and they are always fresh too! They also serve a variety of açaí bowls. For the customer convenience, they even do delivery within 5 miles from the shop which is awesome! But more than anything, their service is excellent! The owners greet you with a smile, explain the ingredients the smoothie of your choice have, and I found out that he even speak sign language enough to communicate with the customers of ASL community, and I think it is incredibly! First impressions really are everything for me, so when I walked in for my first visit a couple days ago and saw the boss communicating with customer through sign language, it was definitely warming. We visited the Smoothie Room every morning of our stay here in Orlando (only 5 mins away) and service was outstanding, the vibe is unmatched and the smoothies are SO good. I ordered the T12 smoothie every single day, modified with added almond butter and removed the blackberries. YUM! We even got free ginger shots, which we loved. This place is actually terrible! I'm from out of town and I came across this and was excited but it was not what I excepted. First they basically took longer than 30 minutes to give us our stuff and they served people after us way before us which is not fair. I tipped them so much and they still didn't get our order right and took forever also my matcha. They had no ice and my matcha is not even a good green. My acai bowl barely even has any acai in it. One of the worst places I've ever been too so so so bad. First of all the service was great and quick, the shop is a whole vibe with colorful walls and succulents on the table, and the acai bowl 2 was soooo amazing! It mainly consisted of acai, chopped bananas, dark chocolate bits, goji berries, frozen blueberries that were super sweet, and chia seeds and the flavors blended perfectly together. With so many 5 star reviews, I feel odd giving out a 4 star review, but hear this out: I thought about 3 stars... Why? Well, I would rate 5 stars a smoothie place that puts a dirty sock in a blender and gives me something delicious, although I would also consider 5 stars if Jessica Alba hands me the smoothie at such smoothie place. Since neither of those happened, and one of the two smoothies wasn't tasting great (Papaya Love), then 4 stars is good. The other smoothie (Pineapple Express) was pretty good but not amazing good. I also got a ginger shot. I asked if it was a fresh ginger shot, to which the reply was yes. Of course, I should have asked "Are you making the shot right now?". I got a shot that may have been fresh but not made on the spot, which is the whole point of taking ginger shots or wheatgrass shots. Obviously if these are not available, then go find a place that will press them on the spot, yadah yadah yadah... So, OK smoothies and OK ginger shots? Sounds a lot like 3 stars to me. But here is why I bump them up. Cool space, fast service, and juices. I know this is The Smoothie Room, but they should add "Juices" somewhere in the business name. If this place is providing smoothies and juices, then this is one of those places that we need more, because juicing is an excellent way to achieve a healthier lifestyle, instead of more processed foods and sugary drinks. Arrived around 6:00pm or so, which wasn't a busy time. I had the "Chocolate Factory", which had almond milk, almond butter, dark chocolate, organic cacao, banana, and peanut butter. I usually dislike peanut butter in any smoothie because it usually overpowers all the other flavors. This smoothie has a nice balance of all the ingredients and it actually has made me more open-minded to smoothies with peanut butter. The cashier was new and she was friendly, asking what type of smoothie I would like. She recommended 3, "Health Nut", "Butter Face", and "Chocolate Factory", based of what I told her. I thought "Butter Face" was a funny name. She and the other employee were nice to answer my question on what "maca" was, and if I could have a menu copy.
