We could not have had a better person help us prepare Zoe (8) and Cillian (6) for their first snorkel adventure. She made them feel excited and confident to put on their snorkel gear and get into the ocean. She set them up with a mask, fins, and a floater and shared with us the best place to see fish, and they did! I had already checked out The Snorkel Store website which is very informative and amazing. Signing up for the newsletter got us a discount, yay! Besides the snorkel gear we rented three Tommy Bahama beach chairs which are great because you can wear them down to the beach as a backpack. One less thing to carry. Before we left Lisa said, "Let me get you a bag of sand toys for you to enjoy after you're done snorkeling." This was so fantastic because grandchild #3 was in the car with Papa and the sand toys were an absolute hit. We will definitely make sure they're washed and returned with the all the other equipment tomorrow before 5:00pm. If you need any type of beach gear, this is the place to go! This place is a must stop! We rented chairs and an umbrella for our Little Beach excursion. After going one day and loving it we wanted chairs and an umbrella! Highly recommend. Rented their flotation belt online with a promo code for one day. Picked it up and Cat introduced us to the Snorkel Report. We ended up keeping the belts for 3 days because the report wasn't good that day and we went to the Road to Hana the next -- but only used it for one day. I don't leave a lot of reviews, but I had to chime in and say what a fantastic experience we had dealing with The Snorkel Store in Ka'anapali. They really did "fit" all my family members with appropriately sized masks and fins. Lisa spent a ton of time with us explaining the different snorkel sites and showing us how to use their website to check on the site conditions and parking. When we hit the beach, the masks were great and did not leak at all. When we went on a snorkeling boat tour, we followed Lisa's advice of bringing our Snorkel Store masks and using the tour company's fins. It was great advice but also evidence of the quality of the Snorkel Stores' equipment. Their fins were great, the cheap fins provided by the tour company hurt our feet and were hard to adjust. (It was still good to use the tour company's fins due to logistics.) The tour company just handed everyone the same mask, and you could see it was poor quality. Additionally, we rented these "flotation belts" for my wife and I who are not the best swimmers. These were a game changer!! It was half the work of snorkeling and increased out confidence and enjoyment by 10 times. Amazing! In addition to all this the snorkel store rental prices seemed very reasonable and the attitude and service was top notch. If I am back in Maui, the Snorkel Store will be my first stop! Amazing experience. Came into the store and were fitted for snorkeling on the first day for a seven day trip. Received amazing service and guidance. Immediately went out to the recommended spots and we saw multiple sea turtles on the first day (including this big guy) using their expertise and advice. We rented the fins, mask, floatation device, two beach chairs, an umbrella. The rental grants you access to the snorkel report daily email to let you know where the best place to snorkel will be for that day. The staff was friendly and made the whole process seamless and pain free. They almost give too much information but it's not a bad thing. We are noobs so everything was brand new to us. We rented everything on Monday and returned it all the following Sunday. The return process is easy even with the store full of customers. This really made our vacation special knowing we could snorkel at any location during our trip. read more

2025 REVIEW: Once again, The Snorkel Store was simply the best option for our snorkel needs for our recent trip to Maui (April 5-19)!!! The Staff are phenomenal (both during pick up and drop off of our fins)! They take the time to connect with their customers, get you fitted, and ensure that your visit to (and snorkelling on) Maui is wonderful. They also provide you with a fish index card, a map of the best places to snorkel on the island and even mask cleaning liquid!!! Their online pricing is also wonderful with great promos to make the rental of snorkel equipment very affordable! Hands down, the best store we've ever found to get your snorkel gear. Whenever our travels take us to the ocean, we will always go snorkeling. This store far surpassed any others we've been to. The snorkel gear they rent out is good quality, and they send you off set up for success. We ordered our gear in advance online and got a 2 for 1 deal, so when we went to pick it up, they were all ready for us. They even provided us with a net bag and anti fog spray, which was a nice bonus. Staff here are so wonderful! All so kind and friendly and work hard to make sure you get the most out of your snorkel time. Their store provided a daily Snorkel Report, which gives grades on a 10 point scale to Northwest, Ka'anapali, and South Shores in regards to snorkel quality with specific breakdown of which beaches to visit. While we were in the shop, they recommended us to Kahekili Beach Park, and it was one of the best snorkel adventures we've ever had. Water was so clear, perfect views of the coral and fish, and we even saw 5 turtles during our time in the water! Hands down, no question, this is the shop to go to if you're looking to rent snorkel gear. read more

How this place only has 4.9 stars is beyond me. Definitely deserves 5. Rented a floatation device for our 5 year old for 5 days and the service they provide is everything and more. Not sure of the guys name at the location near Ka'anapali (maybe the owner), but super good energy and friendly. Our son started with a puddle jumper but the next day wanted to switch for a life vest, and zero issues. They had me come down and 2 minutes later I was on my way. They had a special for $20 for the week which is crazy cheap in my opinion and worth not having the hassle of bringing our own. This shop had a shave ice spot in it too and had killer shave ice! Back in October 2024, I rented a board and snorkel from The Snorkel Store in Ka'anapali. My wife and I took a trip along the Road to Hana, and I ended up using the board at Koki Beach Park. The board I rented was great, much nicer and more premium-feeling than others I've used in the past. The next day, when I went to return the gear, I realized I had accidentally left the board at Koki Beach. I was worried I'd have to pay for losing it. But when I explained the situation to the staff, they told me, "It's okay, you don't need to pay. People in Hana need boards too, so they can enjoy them, don't worry about it." I was genuinely touched by their kindness and understanding. It meant a lot to me, and I'm incredibly grateful. Really great experience with this company on our Sept. 2024 trip to Maui. We hadn't snorkeled since 2006 and the woman fitting us gave us a refresher course. We found their coupon for 1/2 off and paid @$35 each for fins, snorkel, anti-fog liquid and two carrying bags. We went snorkeling 3 times and had a blast finding all the fish shown on their fish card. Make sure to get a shave ice from them too. read more

Anna was the store employee who helped us, and she was SO friendly and also SO knowledgeable. Great service and friendly people set us up for over a week's worth of rentals- snorkels, beach chairs and umbrella. Even went back to ask a couple questions and they adjusted my snorkel for an even better fit. Don't forget water and sunscreen!
