This place is a must stop! We rented chairs and an umbrella for our Little Beach excursion. After going one day and loving it we wanted chairs and an umbrella! Highly recommend. We got a discount from the snorkel report, 50% off so $30 for everything, we also got sunscreen. This shop has everything you need for the beach! We will be back! Thanks Mickey!! Oh and he also got us "Turtle Ready" I wish we would've known about this earlier. We already went to two of the restaurants!!

Rented their flotation belt online with a promo code for one day. Picked it up and Cat introduced us to the Snorkel Report. We ended up keeping the belts for 3 days because the report wasn't good that day and we went to the Road to Hana the next -- but only used it for one day. Upon returning, we were greeted with a smile by Cat again, we told her what happened and after talking to a manager, she only charged us for our original 1-day reservation. Awesome customer service for real! Thank you Cat & The Snorkel store!

We were recommended by a family we met at the hotel to visit here for rentals. We honestly brought snorkels from home but were suggested to rent floaters to help conserve energy when we snorkel out in the ocean. So thankful for their recommendation, we came here and it was such an amazing experience. * the staff know exactly what you need - they don't convince you to get more stuff. Just what you need for the kind of snorkel you're doing * thoroughly explained to us all the fun places to snorkel and guided us with the map where to go and where to even park * showed us the water ratings of each shore !!! We were personally headed to another beach but the staff notified us that currently they have rough waves!! Such a relief we visited this shop. Really helped prepare us newbies of what we need to do for snorkeling. Loved our experience here! Must visit!!

Amazing experience. Came into the store and were fitted for snorkeling on the first day for a seven day trip. Received amazing service and guidance. Immediately went out to the recommended spots and we saw multiple sea turtles on the first day (including this big guy) using their expertise and advice. We had a gear issue on the first day and we came in and exchanged it without question. Super awesome and super professional. They come highly recommended. Awesome experience and awesome service makes for an awesome Snorkel Store.

We saw plenty of fish close to shore, and if you go early in the morning, there's a good chance you'll spot sea turtles cruising through the bay. The beach itself is clean with soft sand, and the cove shape keeps things feeling peaceful compared to some of the busier spots on the island. It's the kind of place where you can easily spend the entire day just unwinding. Parking can be a little tricky, so getting there early is worth it. A great tip is to pair your visit with breakfast or brunch at The Gazebo Restaurant right next door. It's super convenient and makes your morning really efficient--grab a meal, then walk straight onto the beach and enjoy the rest of your day. Whether you're swimming, snorkeling, or just laying out and taking in the view, Napili Bay has that classic Maui magic.

Originally we…read morewere supposed to stay in Lahaina, but because of the rebuilding of the area, we stayed a little further south. I wish I did stay in the area because the whole area is a vibe. It's a little more touristy with resorts and shopping areas, but once you get on the beach you forget all that. Some of our group was already here and gave us specific instructions on where to park. We parked in a paid parking garage and had to walk between hotels to find the entrance to the beach. This particular stretch is in front of the Sheraton Maui Resort. This beach was awesome! Don't get confused like I did and think this was a black sand beach. Black Rock refers to the giant black lava rock going from the beach into the ocean. It's a very popular cliff diving area. In my opinion, you got to have some athletic ability to do the cliff diving. There's two ways to get to the peak of the rock to jump. There's a path from the shore, but you have to do a little climbing with a very sketch path to the top. The other option is to swim in the ocean towards the end of the rock where you have a little ladder to get you up, but you still have to get to the top of the rock. My friends and I decided to do the swim out which in itself was a challenge. One I got close, I decided to be the photographer in the water for when my friends jumped. We hung out in the water for awhile before swimming back to shore. The beach is perfect for lounging around, with soft white sand and crystal clear water. I brought my snorkel and goggles to really appreciate what's under the sea. We stayed out here way longer than we planned because time flies when you are having fun. On my next trip to Maui, I would totally consider staying right on this beach. I will most definitely be back!

There is a golden time to do snorkeling or swimming without the bigger waves rolling in. We got there around 11 and stayed until 1pm or so because the waters began to feel more forceful. Also a telling sign was the surfers started showing up another telling sign the tides were shifting. Have a great time, and be ready to see a lot of beach chickens too! It's sad because the water was clear and the coral made it such a fun place for the kids but that incident made it so gross, I had to shower immediately. We stayed on the west side of Maui, only about a 10-minute drive to the trail's north end. Left around 11:30am but had to detour a bit due to road work. 1. Kapalua Coastal Trail - Kapalua Bay Public Beach Parking You can plug in Kapalua Bay Public Beach Parking on Google Maps, but free parking is very limited. We drove in circles around 11:50am and couldn't find a single spot! Paid parking nearby was $20, and some restaurants had valet for $10. A little pricey just for a short hike, so we kept looking for other options. 2. Free Parking - Cliff House This lot is inside the Montage Kapalua Bay resort, but only about 10 spaces are actually free. We got lucky after waiting 10+ minutes and snagged a spot. From here, heading left takes you toward the Kapalua Bay side, passing Cliff House, Namalu Bay viewpoint, and Kapalua Bay Beach. After looping back, we continued right toward the Dragon's Teeth Trail. 3. Dragon's Teeth Trail The entrance has a small free parking lot right next to the Ritz-Carlton. Again, spots are super limited, and by the time we got there around 2pm, it was completely full. The trail takes you past Ironwood Cliffs and Oneloa Beach before reaching Dragon's Teeth. 4. Makaluapuna Ridge Trail This section continues further past Dragon's Teeth, but we didn't do this part. **Tips from our walk (123): * Switch Google Maps to satellite view to spot small parking lots. * Free parking is scarce, just come earlier if you can. * Kapalua Bay Beach & Oneloa Beach sections are sandy and flat, good for swimming and easy walking. * Dragon's Teeth is rocky, sneakers are way better than sandals. * Bring water, hat, and sunglasses. Even though it was only mid-70s (F), there's zero shade, and I ended up with a sunburned scalp after 2+ hours because I skipped my hat. Overall, this trail is short and easy, but because it runs through luxury resorts and golf courses, expect crowds. On one snorkeling adventure, a more experienced snorkeler pointed out to me something near the rocks. When I first looked, I didn't see any fish and the person pointed again. THEN, I saw it! It was an octopus on the rocks! It was holding on to the rock and I could see it breathing. That's the only motion you could see.
