Finding a quality dry cleaner in Bed Stuy was harder than I thought it would be. I've had clothes returned smelling of Febreeze, not cleaned, stables through the material of a silk shirt and lousy customer service. The Soap Box is the exact opposite - I found them from Stuypend and went there hopeful. They have great hours- open 7 days a week until 8pm on weekdays. If you pay via Stuypend you get 8% off. They offer pick up and drop off services. My clothes came back sparkling and smelled fresh. The customer service is excellent- polite and helpful. Relieved to have a reliable dry cleaner. I started coming to The Soap Box because of my busy schedule and because the reviews were so good, and it has definitely lived up to the hype. I do their drop off service just because I live so close but have heard great things about their pick up service as well. They always do & fold my laundry perfectly. The price can't be beat either. I've never paid over $10 for my laundry which is around the same price I was paying to do it myself at my nearest laundromat. If you're someone whose very busy and can't afford to give up a day for doing laundry, this is your place. Their hours also work very well for people who work. On top of the neatness, efficiency, timeliness, and price, the people who own the place & work there are extremely friendly. I would give them 5 more stars if I could. read more

This was my first time doing a pick up/ delivery wash & fold and dry cleaning service. My main reason was to dry clean a faux fur blanket, which was completely ruined since it was put in the dryer. Extra heartbroken since this blanket is no longer being sold anywhere. This was probably my oversight since blankets aren't specifically listed in dry cleaning in the price list and there's no way to add specific instructions to each item in your order. Everything else was properly cleaned, neatly folded and returned in plastic bags within my reusable bags. Pick up was slightly early and delivery was slightly late, but the drivers were very courteous and the text message alert when they were on their way was really helpful. I was charged more than the listed price for two jackets to be dry cleaned and am missing a sock, which is a bummer. For over $110 for 1 load of laundry, two jackets to be dry cleaned and 3 blankets - this was probably my last time using a service like this unfortunately. read more

I've been using Soap Box for about a year with no issues save for a missing sock now and then. A few weeks ago I was delivered an order covered in lipstick stains. I reached out to customer service and got a call saying they'd refund my order and pick it up to re-wash all of the stained items. I wasn't refunded, but they did pick up the order to re-wash and sent some items to be dry cleaned for further stain removal. I was charged for what was supposed to be a free re-wash. I've contacted them now several times about refunds for these orders and reimbursement for the items the stains couldn't be removed from and getting a response is like pulling teeth from them. They'll call me back and assure me that I'll be refunded and everything will come back clean, but I'm currently down $100 and have permanently stained bedding and clothes with seemingly no recourse. Honestly, they deserve 1 star for this experience, but I'm adding another because I truly did have a great experience up to now. I'm working with my bank to have the dispute the last two charges and I guess I'll swallow the loss of my $450 bedding plus the ruined clothes. read more

This service was great at first but after a few times of using it they became very unreliable. I scheduled a laundry pick up and they didn't show up. I tried to contact them but the phone number is an answering service. After calling three times with no call back I texted them and sent along a photo of my confirmation email. They finally responded and said my order had been cancelled without any other explanation. They offered no other resolution to the problem other than to reschedule on the app but they had no availability for pick up within two days of my "cancelled" order. I couldn't wait another week for clean clothes. I recommend using a different service, they seem to be unable to accommodate all their business so they cancel orders with no warning or explanation. read more
