Grade: A Atmosphere- Located in a strip mall, What you see with MEC is what you get. The store is well lit, reasonably clean with wide rows that are well stocked. The only major drawback is a strong musty smell that permeates throughout. This could probably be remedied with a good dehumidifier and carpet cleaning. Grade: C- Knowledge/Customer Service- while not as knowledgeable as other stores in the area, MEC is one of the more professional and friendly. Each staff member has been genuinely courteous, helpful and willing to go way out of their way to get what I need. One instance, the gentleman called a competitor to help find the book I wanted. MEC is also the best comic store in terms of price. It is the only comic store in the tri state area that offered a 10% discount for purchasing 5 or more books. Grade: A- Quality/Selection- MEC has a moderate to large selection of mainstream and adult comics. But if you are looking for Indy titles, this is your place. This section alone is larger than all new titles combined at their regional competitors. A small selection of games, toys and cards are also available. If you are looking for back issues however, I would try elsewhere. they have very little past 1990 and most is not in collector condition. On a side note, I would like to see a better display method for Marvel and DC comics near the front. Most comics in that space, on the other side of the counter are damaged along the spines due to over packing the comics into the media cases. I am very disappointed in the service I received from Lenoir.  I am 81 years old and I have…read morepurchased several items from Lenoir over the years.  I purchased a sofa that was delivered during the height of the Pandemic.  The delivery drivers were not educated on the product and did not know how to bring the sofa through a standard size front door.  A panel should have been removed to allow the sofa to fit through the door.  Instead of removing the panel, they jammed the sofa through my door and damaged my door and tore the fabric on the sofa.  Lenoir initially indicated they would fix the problem (although at first that made light of the problem and acted like it was nothing).  After almost 9 months of complaining by me, they had the manufacturer send me material that may match the sofa.  However, Lenoir is not sending someone to repair the sofa with the fabric.  It is very disappointing that (i) they use delivery agents that are not educated on the product causing damage to my home and the product and (ii) they refuse to make thing right with a longstanding customer.

I was referred to this business and here is my experience. I…read moreneeded a 20 foot hydraulic hose for my piece of farm equipment with a flat face coupler on each end. Having checked two online suppliers, who were quoting about $85 dollars to my door for the hose and the couplers. I thought a local business would be somewhere in the ballpark maybe slightly higher. The counter person never mentioned a price he just went to the back and made up the hose and brought it to the counter in less than 10 minutes. Out the door at Greeneville Hose for the same hose was $234.00. When he rang it up I was shocked. Over double the price. Yes I did get it that day instead of the next day delivery but I also had to drive a 40 mile round trip in to Greeneville to get the hose. I have learned my lesson on not asking the price up front. Had I been told the price upfront I would of exited the building. Two weeks later I needed one more coupler. I thought I would give them another chance to sale me something at a reasonable price. A set of two couplers is 40.00 shipped next day from amazon. I called Greeneville hose thinking if I shared with them that I just purchased from them recently and only needed one coupler that they could literally take it off the shelf and hand it to me (easy right?) and I might like the price. $97 dollars not out the door!!!!. I could not understand why the 20 foot hose I bought before included the couplers at $234 dollars. At this point I was thinking was I getting the hose almost for free but being gouged on the fittings based on the this new quote for one coupler? I said thanks for the info and ended the phone call. My conclusion. You are going to pay double or possibly triple for hydraulic hoses and fittings buying from Greeneville Hose and Supply. I am all for local businesses but double or triple the price for the same thing and not having to get into my car to go get it. Come on. I work hard for my money and don't like being gouged.
