It is a hidden gem in the hub of Tralee town centre. It is primarily a pub, but during the day it does soup, sandwiches and a few main courses. The sandwiches are whopper. Made fresh everyday and will make you come back time and time again, especially the chicken tikka! Garry, the owner, is, without a doubt, one of the best hosts that I've ever seen in action. He never forgets a face, and although i only go to Tralee on holidays once or twice a year, he always remembers me! Not only is it a lovely place to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee during the day, at night it is a buzzing little spot, with live music at the weekends, it is always jointed with people! Murphy's is very much a locals' pub. It has to be. It's in the middle of nowhere in a small town on the coast of Ireland! It's a place to meet your neighbors, or in our case, the people who live in the town we were staying in for the weekend. The town of Brandon is a beautiful place, and the people you'll meet have probably lived there their entire lives, so everyone knows each other and is (as is typical) friendly as can be. You won't find anything special at Murphy's - except if you're there on a live music night. But you'll enjoy yourself, and if you're in Brandon you won't have many other options!
