Very nice inside! They play mellow music. When you check in they take you to the waiting area. They offer you water or champagne and fig bars! The wait was not long at all. I was then taken to my room and was given a heated neck pillow. I just got a regular pedicure. Mind you I went snowboarding the next day and all my polish was still intact. This location was on the resort and conveniently place to my stay. The spa was neat and clean. He was totally relaxed. After and during..... Matthew: this guy has was not into it. Zero introduction , zero personality. The massage felt like a oily rub down that you would do on yourself after a shower. Zero pressure, (I had the signature full body massage as a birthday gift) felt like he didn't want to touch me. Didn't massage my hands, the foot, thighs, neck, he did do pressure points but no pressure so to explain he just touched area of the pressure point and held his hand there. At one point he used the heel of his palm to touch and hold. His fingers and rest of his hand went limp. I feel no difference from when I walked in and when I left. I had a wonderful experience at the Spa today. I made an appointment for the Best of Both Worlds service (half massage/half facial (no extractions) massage) plus a 15 minute reflexology add on. Angela, my therapist, was very thorough & knowledgeable, and I left the service feeling relaxed and pampered. She even sent me home with the head wrap she used for my facial. The front desk staff were all very friendly, helpful, and professional. The prices seem a bit higher than I'm accustomed to paying, but the service quality is well worth it. I cannot speak to the quality of their other services since I haven't tried them, but I highly recommend their massage & facial services! I am interested in their spa packages & nail services, so I will be back at the Spa on my next trip to Massanutten. read more

I've gotten many massages. And the Massanutten signature massage is wonderful! I wish the 60 minuets started once the messaging begins but it would appear it begins as soon as you enter the room, so you still have to get undressed and on the table and wait for the therapist to come back in. Feel like I lost some relaxation time, but the actual massage was amazing, very relaxed and refreshed! My pedicure was also amazing! Great colors to choose from and so many options on what to get. First of all, I want to say that the services are totally 5 star. Every employee is super friendly and super conscientious! I've had two massages here this week and both Josef and Alissa were superb. I would recommend either of them. My three star review has more to do with Massanutten's Covid policy. They require masks if you are not vaccinated and you don't have to wear one if you are. That policy is for guests and employees. It's a sound policy. However, I booked a facial and given that it is such a close up encounter, I assumed that my service provider was vaccinated. She was not and I stated that I was not comfortable. So we stopped and moved on to the pedicure I had booked, which was much more socially distanced. She did an awesome job! So where is the complaint? The Spa still charged me a cancellation fee instead of offering to find another service provider or apply my money to a different service. They were so concerned that I had unnecessarily taken a slot that someone else could have had "because we do have a waitlist." It reeks of money grubbing and had I known I had to request a vaccinated employee, I would have. The manager actually told me that most people who are that concerned ask - so of course I was to blame. Once again - the services are five Star and I usually get 4 or 5 massages the week I am here and it's totally part of my bliss. But one might expect a resort that has high guest turnover ( weekly) and the emergence of the Delta variant, letting guests know it's their responsibility to pre- check about their service provider's vaccination status would be something they put on their website. read more

Out of everything in the park my lady really wanted to do a couples massage. I wasn't to enthused at first, but it actually turned out to be quite relaxing. We both ended up getting the Signature Massage, which is a combination of Deep Tissue/Swedish massage. It was 95.00 per person for an hour. The staff is very professional and upon arrival even offered us our choice of cucumber water, spring water, or wine. I of course chose the latter (Pink Moscato). Visited the spa today.... I had the signature massage. (1 hour, $85 - $100 after tip) It was very nice. It was not "amazing", but very relaxing & enjoyable. I would have rated today's visit a 3 star visit, but since I have been before, and it was a 5 star experience then, I decided to average those experiences. The spa is a separate building now - in the old days it was tucked into the basement of another building. It's very upscale and very nice. I was sad I couldn't get a convenient appt at the nail salon. As long as I got my massage, who cares? I can get a mani/pedi elsewhere. PS - make your appt in advance! read more

I had had a couple of massages years ago when I was here, and they were excellent. I was expecting the same, but was sorely disappointed. My massage therapist was Sherry. She's your gal if you want a vigorous rub-down, akin to what one might do to a horse. I asked her for a deep tissue massage and asked her to focus on my lower back; she said she'd like to work on my glutes as well, as back problems are often linked to tightness there. I said fine, but she barely touched my lower back OR my glutes. This was hands-down the worst massage I have ever received. Sherry clearly did not know how to do deep tissue massage. She did a lot of rubbing and at one point shook me as if she were making a martini. I was going to ask her to go deeper, but was honestly afraid she might do more damage than good. So I leave $95 poorer (which is how much I pay for an EXCELLENT deep tissue massage in Northern VA -- I don't I expect to pay that here!) and sorely disappointed. I'll not be getting a massage here in the future. That said, the staff were super friendly and the rooms clean. Other services, I would hope, may be better. read more

With the signature package, she gave me a foot rub as well a mask for my eyes to continue to relax. She was extremely professional and made me feel very comfortable. This is a classic example of you get what you pay for! While I found this spa to be inexpensive - the services rendered matched. The facial and massage took 2 1/2hours but so too did the mani/pedi. Well actually I didn't get a pedi becuase I was born without 3 toenails and while 2 grew small patches and one did not the nail tech wouldn't give me a pedi. So from 2:30 til 4:00 pm I received a maniure - that's right 1 1/2 hours for a manicure. She didnt do a very good job either.
