My husband bought me a gift certificate for my birthday, a wonderful present. I had been there twice before, one massage and one facial. Massage was great the facial sucked. 1st off the gift certificate irritated me. It read sig. mani, pedi, and 2 more + hot stone. Really? It didnt even tell me what I was getting then when I looked online there is no mani or pedi named what they wrote so I was unsure of what to ask for when I called in but the girl on the phone said it was in there system so she booked the right service for me. I went in three visits. The facial was awesome, the best I ever had however the girl told me she would only be there another week and I wont write what she told me. I found it very strange she asked me for my stylists number when in fact they are a salon. She said no way in hell would she get her hair done there. My hot stone massage was ok, nothing special, and there was really no massaging just the stones on me. My mani and pedi was the worst expierence ever. The girl didnt take off my old polish, texted on her phone, answered and had a conversation twice while painting my toes. I didn't get any scrubbing or lotion, just a wash and she rubbed on some sea salt then washed it off about 1 min later. Then she had a visitor whom she spent about 15 mins talking to while I sat there. She put the wrong color on my toes and i told her and the response was "well you almost can't tell and I like this one better". The polish was everywhere on my toes and Im not kidding. I got french shellac on my nails. She had me put my nails in the machine only twice each hand..um every other time I do it at least four times. She didnt spray my nails and wipe them down when she was done to make sure they were good and they were so bubbled it was not even funny. One nail was completely peeled off before I walked out the door. A girl from the salon came up and told the girl doing my nails how the hair scale in the backroom was broken so she couldnt get the mix balanced right and she hoped it wouldnt mess up the ladys hair too bad. My girl laughed and told her it didnt matter and told her to tell her it was the new style. I was appalled they found that funny. I had my eyebrows waxed and she didnt use tweezers or clean them up at all. She didnt even offer a mirror or ask if they were ok. I looked in the mirror in the front and they were so bad. Even the lady at the front desk asked me if she wanted me to have her come back to fix them. At that point I just wanted out of there. It took 1hr and 20 mins for all 3 services which included all of the phone time and chatting with the stylist. I had to pluck my eyebrows right when I got home. The lady at the front desk was the nicest ever, that is the only good thing I can say. In fact who ever booked my services on the phone booked the wrong thing from what was on my certificate, which I didnt know because I didn't know what "2 more" was and they never bothered to tell me. She didnt charge for the little extra because she also seemed upset. The girl doing my stuff asked her twice to go to the back to get her stuff from her purse in a very rude manner. When I got home my husband was so upset because he spent quite a bit of money for such horrible services. I actually went to mesilla valley mall and got my toes and nails redone that day. The lady doing my toes told me I shouldn't wait so long in between pedicures???? read more

I was gifted a day at the Spa Downtown. I called and made my appointment for a full set of nails and a pedicure. This was my first time getting the 'Coffin' Style nails so I was extremely clear on what exactly I wanted. The individual on the phone stated it was no problem, come on in and we will get you set up. I arrived about 10 minutes early for my appointment and was greeted by the GREAT staff who immediately asked if i wanted something to drink ect. Wonderful atmosphere, very relaxing and very nice people. My pedicure was great and relaxing. When he started to do my manicure every nail started popping off. This went on for about 20 minutes as He gave the excuse that they ordered the wrong supplies for him. This evolved into him BLAMING ME for him not having the right glue. He gave the explanation that I SHOULD HAVE informed him that I was getting a full set so that he could have made sure he had all the right supplies (mind you I advised them of this upon making the appointment a week earlier). I was there for approximately four and a half hours and ended up getting a basic manicure instead of what I scheduled and asked for. He charged me almost $150 and had the nerve to ask if I was going to leave him a tip. I've never been back which is unfortunate because it was a lovely atmosphere. We used to frequent the Spa downtown for individual and couples massage and we always previously had great experiences. Until today, 10/1/16, I booked a birthday massage for my husband and it was a horrendous experience from the start! The therapist asked him what he type of massage he wanted and I'd already told chosen it and prepaid! The therapist was sorely lacking personal skills and she was inexperienced in massage to say the least. She didn't perform a deep tissue or any form of massage at all and used hot stones he didn't want nor did he ask for! When he got ready to leave he was not offered water and as he left there was not one staff person in sight! This is absolutely unacceptable! And I'm calling my cc company as well! read more

This was the best salon I've been to since moving to Las Cruces. They were so nice, they had coffee and mimosas and the whole facility was really well decorated and designed. I got the Keratin treatment for my hair and Dakotah did a fantastic job. All the staff members are extremely friendly and knowledgable about what they're doing. I absolutely love going to the Spa. They are always so welcoming and friendly. I've been going to Dakotah for my last few haircuts and have always left super happy. She listens to exactly what you want. Plus she makes it super fun with her friendly and outgoing personality. I went today to get my acrylic nails taken off, and to get a manicure. The girl did not take off my nails and tried to thin the acrylic and blend it with my real nail, which I do not understand as I specifically asked her to take them off. She then painted them, and it was awful. I'm not sure if she didn't know what she was doing, as she admitted she had only ever taken gel nails off, or if she just didn't want to take them off. I was there for almost 2 hours and paid 47 dollars with tip. They were so awful, but I didn't want to hurt her feelings as she was so sweet and I love going there, all of their other services are AMAZING, and the owner is so sweet. I really thought about not writing this review, and I didn't say anything in the first place, because I didn't want to make a scene or hurt the girls feelings, but I don't want anyone making the same mistake as I did. They were so bad, I had to go somewhere else to do what I asked for in the first place as soon as I left the spa. The second place did the job for 20 dollars, and I tipped them 20 for doing it right. So all in all I was out almost 90 dollars today, when I should have only paid around 20-40 if it was done right in the first place. I am so upset, and disappointed, as all services from the spa downtown have been amazing, I just did not understand why someone would try to thin the nail out... Honestly, I had an amazing experience here. I booked myself a hot stone massage for my birthday at 3:30 pm. I was held late at work and arrived to the spa 30 minutes late. Despite this, I was treated with so much graciousness! The lady I talked to was very calm, understanding, and accommodating. I have long hair and a full beard, and I got conditions on when I cut, wash, and who I let play with my hair. Edward heard all of my concerns, and made me feel at home. I started growing my hair out in 2015, until this past year I hadn't let anyone put scissors to my hair. I was nervous, and I wanted to find someone who would keep to my ritual of only cutting on the full moon. Edward did that. He not only cut my hair. He helped me style it, and learn how to do more than just the "man-bun" with my hair. I can't think of anyone else I would go to He now styles not only my hair, but the beard too. You don't just get a stylist with Edward, you get a trained barber, and someone who cares. Edward made me feel at home at The SPA Downtown, I love this business and wish them continued success. They have been our chosen stylists and have worked on both me and my husband for our work with Look Who''s Dancing Las Cruces. They have a heart for community, and they are located in the neatest location in our historic downtown mall. I can't wait for the next full moon when I'll go in to see them again. ;-) read more

I have been visiting The Spa Downtown for over a year now using there waxing services--Kristy is amazing--she does an amazing Brazilian waxes; however, yesterday was my first time trying out there salon services, and Carleigh was a hair genius! I had gone to another salon and had colored my hair black with mermaid green highlights months ago, as you can imagine, the color fade process was a hideous sight to see, so I decided since I am about to start a new chapter in my life, I needed a new hair do, and called The Spa Downtown. I talked to Carleigh that I really liked reds but hated taking cold showers as well as how short the life span was of the colors, and was told they have a new line that you don't have to take a cold shower-Yay, and so we got rid of the black and green, cut my hair to a healthier length and the color came out phenomenally. Carleigh listened to my needs and made suggestions and in the end, I came out looking gorgeous. I have been in the process of moving for a couple months and let my stuff go a little. I stumbled upon this place online and after reading reviews I thought I would give it a shot-it's only hair, right?! Well, I am very attached to my hair so.... I went day one to get a brow wax. A lovely lady greeted me at the door and Amanda did a fabulous job! Then, after that went well, I scheduled a cut and color with Ginger, who squeezed me in no questions asked. She did an amazing job!! My color is perfect and my cut is exactly what I asked for. Then, on a whim the following day I thought, "Maybe I should try and get my nails done today". I called and BAM I got in that day-lucky. I guess the stars aligned. Three days in a row and they were still kind and happy to see me.
