I went to Sparrow Salon for the first time during snow days in January. I booked online, which was so easy and convenient. I could pick my stylist and look at my options for services. I went with partial highlights with Loran and was very pleased with her expertise. The highlight color was perfect. I loved the vibe at Sparrow. I was offered a hot tea or coffee on arrival, and that was an unexpected treat on such a cold day. I had a hot peach tea with honey that hit the spot. I first met Lyndse Hall when I made a visit to a salon for a free bang trim in 2014. I actually had the bang trim from another great stylist, but switched to that salon after my first bang trim. I would watch Lyndse cutting and styling other folks' hair and decided to make an appointment with her. One day I saw a random woman at the mall and asked her where she got her awesome haircut, and she mentioned Lyndse's name. I told the woman I had just started using that salon. Lyndse is a very skilled hairstylist. She gives great head massages, and you can always tell after she washes your hair, your hair is squeaky clean. Once you sit in the chair, Lyndse will always ask how much to cut before she starts to cut your hair. She then starts the cutting process, making sure hair is even on both sides, and she really pays attention to what she is doing during the entire cutting process. Lyndse then performs her magic with a round brush and gives a very smooth and polished blowout. As I have embraced my salt and pepper hair, I do not use hair dye, and Lyndse is very on board with that. She always says she likes the color of my natural hair, and that makes it an easy decision to stay with the grey! Lyndse is one of a few people in Nashville who knows how to "point cut" my bangs the way I like them. The salon is just a few miles down the road from where I live. It's a very quiet atmosphere, and the other stylists, Shannon and Tina, are also great hairstylists and very knowledgeable and personable. I always end up looking way better than when I arrived, and isn't that the end game for every person who has a haircut! I always get compliments on my hair after I leave the salon. I went to Whisper Creek this week, for the first time, with my sister and brother-in-law. Both of us girls had luxurious facials with Kathy, the owner. It was totally relaxing and felt absolutely wonderful! Kathy was just so pleasant to talk to and I enjoyed every moment of my facial. Not to mention, my skin was GLOWING when I left! My brother-in-law had a 90 minute massage, while we had 60 minute massages with Tawni. Once again, sheer professionalism. She really enjoys her craft and what she does and it shows! I spent my birthday at Whisper Creek Day Spa and it was Wonderful! I didn't want to leave. I began with a Hot Stone massage with Angela Williams and it was so relaxing. She has deep pressure, but she can adjust to your comfort level if you ask. She really found all the knots and worked them out!! Then I had lunch followed by a Facial with Microdermabrasion with Mandy Vanderford. It was very relaxing, especially for Microdermabrasion! This place is AWFUL. DO NOT GO HERE. The owner (Kathy) is impossible to reason with and blames the customer for her employee's shortcomings. My husband booked me a 90 minute Swedish massage and a gel mani/pedi package. I went and my nails peeled the very next day. She didn't push back or cut my cuticles off. They were filed unevenly. I get my nails done all the time and these were the worst I've ever experienced. I came in with gel from a previous nail appt on my toes and was made to feel like fool for not telling them ahead of time (which I was never instructed or asked to do) so the girl was frustrated that she had to soak them off. This process ran well into my massage that was scheduled after my pedicure. They told me I could either have an hour massage and then try to schedule another time to come in for the rest (I have a new baby, so getting time away is incredibly hard) or I could just reschedule altogether. All because I had gel on my toes that she needed to soak off. I left the salon crying because I wanted just ONE morning (this was my Mother's Day gift I finally found time to use) away to myself. It ended horribly. My husband and I had to go ROUND AND ROUND with the owner, listening to her rant about how it was all my fault...that I was the problem. She argued with us for about 30 minutes over the phone and never tried to listen to what we were saying. This place is FAR from professional and luxurious. I recommend the Woodhouse Day Spa 100 times over in Franklin. DO NOT COME HERE. You will be vastly disappointed. read more
