Our group of 8 had a great experience at The Spot. It was many of our group's first time shooting and Austin made sure we were given an awesome experience. The great customer service started before we even got there. We emailed ahead of time to ask about availability and Austin replied that they already had a group coming in at our desired time, but informed us of alternative times and even offered a discount if we decided to book another weekend. We opted to book at the alternative time he had provided. At $25/person for 2 hours, it was an amazing value! He was so helpful in demonstrating and guiding us in a friendly and non judgemental way. Steve was able to change out two sets of limbs on two bows, make all appropriate adjustments, paper tune, time rests and serve in peeps in a single day. Dropped off bows at 10:00 am and picked them up both up at 4:00. The workmanship was outstanding and both bows were timed perfectly. I had first taken an introductory class and bought my own bow and arrows 10 years ago, then completely stopped practicing. I recently picked it up again 3 months ago and had only gone 3 times before visiting The Spot with a friend who also had not gone shooting in almost 20 years. Austin was very kind, understanding, and encouraging. He helped me relearn how to put the limbs on my recurve bow on, string my bow and gave me some basic tips for shooting. He let me borrow some arrows that he thought would be a better fit for my arrow than the ones I had brought in. He helped both of us start shooting again from 5 yards, then 10, then 20. Austin even took some photos of us shooting together with some cool angles He was very busy as he was the only person working when we went in, and helped several others, but came back again and again to check on us. He also did some shooting in the lane next to us, so it was cool to interact with him. He welcomed us to come back and encouraged us to get the word out to other new shooters. Thanks, Austin! My husband and I came to shoot for the first time here and we left extremely happy with our experience. This was my first time shooting a bow & Austin took the time to help me and make sure that I felt confident before leaving me to do my own thing. Which even then, he would come by and are sure I was okay or give me tips to better my skill. Not only did he help me, he helped my husband by providing him with advice and tuning for no charge nor without being asked. He is extremely helpful, kind, and put in effort not only with us but with everyone else on the line. Everybody there was happy to be there and was friendly with each other. You can tell a lot of people come in and spend alot of time with each other here. It did not feel like just an archery shop with a range of selection, it felt like a community that values the sport and one another. Enjoyed some archery and really appreciated the staff who showed us how to arch. He was very thorough and even though I've shot before he gave a good reminder tutorial. The negative was that we were two people practicing on separate targets but one target was taken away to give to someone else who came later. This change threw us off track and we wished they had more close targets. We ended up leaving early because of that but still paid full price. I feel they should offer different price ranges for different amounts of time spent. read more

I've been to a lot of archery shops in my day and I can't really say that I've been to any better than the Spot. The staff are smart and know what they are doing. They also are extremely accommodating and have taken care of my archery needs while I waited. Their shooting range is top notch. Well lit. Lots of lanes. Plenty of room to watch. Sold me what they had not what I needed.Calls for service were vague and unconvincing.

Last saturday I went into the shop to try out a few bows and get a new bow setup. Brian greeted me as soon as I walked in and got.me set up on two different bows I was interested in. He immediately set them to my draw length and weight and gave me some info on each bow and how they differ from each other. I ended up choosing the Prime Logic CT5 and he set the whole thing up for me and made sure it was perfectly tuned for me. Timed my new AAE Pro drop away and helped get my 20yd pin dialed perfect. Could not be more happy with the customer service I recieved and their knowledge on all things archery. You leave there feeling like they are friends. I will absolutley be going back. I've been to the other big name archery shop in clovis and was not impressed at all. So save your time and money and go to the Spot and see Brian. Fantastic job gents. read more

The Spot Archery in Fresno accommodated my daughter's birthday party with no reservations or prior warning. They went as far as opening the range outside of their normal business hours, with one-hour notice because Impact Archery in Clovis canceled our scheduled and paid-for birthday party without telling us. Needless to say, we will not be going back to Impact Archery for any reason. We will take all of our business to The Spot Archery in Fresno from now on, they have everything we might need for archery and they foster a very nice family friendly environment. read more

I saw this place on Yelp when looking for cool things to do with my friends who were visiting Fresno for the first time. First impressions were that it was a little intimidating, people tending to their own equipment and working with other experienced shooters. Sure enough, it was just all in the head and we were set up with a fantastic instructor who happened to just walk in as we arrived. The lesson was very worthwhile and we ended up staying for a decent amount of time after he finished. The only bad part was that we had to leave. Incredibly fun, would go here again. read more

I came to the store to buy my first Mathews bow . Knew exactly what I wanted, but was still new as a Mathews bow shooter . Didn't quite understand how mods work . While explaining to the workers about my draw-length. He didn't believe me when I told him my draw-length was at 26 and had to measure me . I then went ahead and shot one of the V3 27 and he set it for me at a 25.5 draw . Despite all of this I was sold a bow with a shorter draw length and had many trouble trying to sight in and shoot my bow . I then had to buy a different kind of mods just for the right draw length . I then also just bought some new mods and called the day before I picked it up about it . I was told that they were in and I even specifically pointed out the poundage of the mods and the draw length . I ended up getting the wrong poundage . Having a bad experience at this bow shop . I love in Merced and have to make an hour drive just to pick these up and I'm really disappointed . I had to buy difference mods just to get my draw length correct . Should of been done the first time . Bought another mods for hunting and I despite the papers and specifications I was given the wrong mods . read more

Great bunch of guys. I called a nearby archery shop to see if they were able to put on a rest for my nephew's bow a few days before archery season and they said " we wouldn't be able to get it done until a couple of weeks, we're all booked". Called up Spot Archery and they said, "come down well put it on." We went in and the guys were very accommodating helped out my nephew and even stayed pass closing to cut a dozen arrows for him. I have been a bow hunter for over 20 years. In that time traveling all over North America I have probably been in 100 archery shops and sporting goods stores with archery departments. The Spot in Fresno is the most well put together and complete I have seen. The range of equipment accommodate the firsttimer, weekend warrior and the dedicated archer, target archer or big game hunter. Most importantly the people are fantastic. Buying archery equipment is not like most things you want to find for cheap off the rack somewhere. It's an investment and you want to make sure you will have the support there moving forward for whatever reason. Steve and Bryan are friendly, extremely knowledgeable and have been involved in the local archery community for over 25 years. I can not recommend The Spot more. read more

Awesome! This place is great! We had a really nice experience at the Spot Archery. I just wanted to take my kids so that they can try something new and we were really pleasantly surprised at how fun archery can be. Kids (11 & 14) really enjoyed. It's reasonably priced ($20/person) and the manager/owner didn't give us a time limit - we ended up staying about 1-2 hours. Manager/owner was very nice and helpful, we will def be back :) read more

This is my second review of Spot Archery. If you are at all interested in archery this is the place to go and these are the people to see. I went back to them because after I purchased my first bow last year, my shoulder was becoming painful (from an old injury) from shooting and I wanted to talk to them about what to do. They said they could change the limbs to a lighter pull, or, I could buy a bow with a lighter pull. I decided on the latter and not only did they try to sell me their least expensive package bow set-up first, they set up two bow packages for my dimensions and let me shoot both bows as long as I wanted on their range. I picked the package I wanted and they completely set up the bow and tuned it for me - no charge! AND, while I was shooting their bows, they went over my original bow and found some minor things that needed to be fixed and did it. They could have sold me new strings (about a $200.00 option) but said the repair would last at least another several months with normal usage. Their prices are fair and competitive, but their service is on a level that all business should strive to attain. I can't speak highly enough about Steve and Brian. GREAT people, great business model, and a great place to go for archery supplies. read more
