As a novice handgun owner, I am still learning about using my weapon and the basics of gun range etiquette. The staff in the office and on the range itself where incredibly welcoming and very gracious. A particular shout out needs to be given to the staff on range two on May 31 - Dillon, Devin, and John - who assisted me with my stance, my grip and my overall performance. It's been years since I took my last lesson and they helped me boost my confidence in a short period of time while making sure that I was safe. During my visit, I noticed how helpful they were to other groups of varying skill level with a variety of handguns and rifles. Although it is outside, I was comfortable under the shade during my range time I look forward to going back. read more

Firstly let me start by saying I can't stand when people make a racial issue out of a situation however I think this is warranted. I don't know the guys name that checked us in but I will forever remember his face. Im in my fifties and have gone to this range several times over the years. I've even shot matches there before. I can't really say I've ever had an experience like this ever in my life. I've lived here in California all my life and in the Auberry area for some time now. Can't say I've ever had someone say something as ridiculous as your staff did that day. What's worse is there were other customers in the range house that laughed after the comments were made. Another staff member reacted by calling out his partners name to get his attention and shook his head at him indicating stop, to let him know what he was saying was inappropriate as the other customers and your staff member continued to laugh. What's worse is, he didn't make the comments towards me. He made them towards my wife. Also what he didn't know was I was with an off duty CHP Officer who witnessed this. I'm also retired law enforcement. My wife had forgotten her drivers license, so he told us that she couldn't even be on the property if she didn't have an ID. I know for a fact I've had my minor children there before without an ID. As she was walking out he loudly asked her if she had a passport. He added that if she's going to be driving that now she'll be driving without a license. Other customers present began to laugh and in turn your staff began to laugh. While this may seem insignificant to some, it upset my wife even though she's lived here her entire life, given everything that is happening in the U.S. right now which we both support. It upset her so much that when she did return with her ID she made it a point to mention it to the other range staff to which they replied, don't worry about that guy. She also no longer wanted to shoot but had to return as we were in the same car. Again I can't stand making a racial issue out of something but I cannot sit by and let your staffs ignorance go unchecked. In the unlikely event I ever go back to your range, I hope I don't see that idiots face again. I also hope that this is not indicative of the rest of your staff. read more

I've been here a few time. My fiance and I would go with a few friends to get some rounds it. This is the only outdoor range I've been to so I can't really compare it to any other but this place is amazing. The workers are nice and the prices are reasonable. There are many stations to choose from, there were a few tables that needed maintenance but glad we went early on a Tuesday and there was no one around so there was so many stations open, we had a whole row to ourselves. They also have a designated station where you can shot a shot gun with flying discs. Before you get on the stations you have to check in at the office, signs some waivers and pay the fees and you can also choose your targets. They now give these lime green "range card" that you can present each time you go so you won't have to keep signing the agreement (unless it's expired or you need to change something). This is for the CCPL USPSA competition matches held at Fresno Rifle and Pistol Club. 5-stars! Complete awesomeness. We travel all the way to Clovis / Fresno area for their USPSA club matches because it is that good. Forget the parking down the hill where we have to lug out heavy gear up the incline. The stages that they create here really has good flow (!) that still challenges your practical shooting skills. The match runs so smoothly that we finish early and be in time for early dinner back in the Bay. What really sets this club apart is their heart warming hospitality. There are a lot of shooters that come to the match and yet the match directors always ask us how our drive is from the Bay Area. And the hospitality extends down to the local shooters. They are always friendly and such a great experience to be in the squad with. Their big matches are epic as well, with a great prize table most major matches would be jealous off. Their major matches include the cowboy bays at the bottom of the range and running and gunning though those props are such a delight. If you have a change to play USPSA at CCPL (Fresno), I highly suggest you try it. read more

Review for people who use yelp. Location is in a cool uphill location arriving into check in was a breeze, got my 5.56 ammo checked for steel casings I paid 28x2 for myself and bro. Also rented ear protection for 5 bucks and got 2 paper targets. The steel target location where I shot my 9mm was pretty cool but if you don't like shooting with people you won't like this place because every 2 spots there is a shooter shooting. The Riffle range was interesting everyone walks up and can set up there targets while the range officer tells out range is COLD and makes sure all guns are unloaded. I had originally planned to bring my steel targets but I was already pretty loaded coming out from Los Angeles. There is no private bays for non members I ain't sure what the other locations that members have include. I liked that range officers don't touch your guns they do let you double tap but that's it no one got yelled at while I was there. What I did like was you have unlimited time to shoot I shot an easy 500 rounds of 9mm at the steel target area. The riffle range would be stopped every 20m when a new shooter arrived....Overall it's a cool spot if you're in the 559 area hope this helps. read more

Went up here with family for practice shooting . It is a nice area for this type of activity . Had options for different targets. Bathrooms need better care. The staff not soo friendly. Especially Sargent lady. You get yelled at for a rule you broke that u didn't even know about . I think rules should be stated before heading out to the site where there is less noise and can hear to understand the rules. Or at least ensure the rules are read and understood. That sergeant lady repeated her several times and came up to my husbands face and repeated herself again. Who wants to get lectured at in front of others. This type of stuff shouldn't happen. It s rude and demeaning. But if this is what you are looking for in a business then you hit it on the mark. Again rules that are most important regarding the range should be stated before you actually go out to the targets. We will be going out there again but not anytime soon Hopefully we don't have a run in with Sargent Lady again read more

I don't know how this place is rated so well. The lady and the man that work there are not helpful in anyway shape or form. Yesterday we tried to go and arrived at exactly 4 and they said they were closed. Technically their website and everything else says they close at five you would think they could give us just a chance to shoot for a few minutes. My kid is 15 and just had one box of 22s. It wouldn't of taken 15 minutes. So we leave yesterday because what are you going to do yell and scream. We go back today and the lady there is basically as rude as it gets and wouldn't help us sign in and then she wants us to pay $30 to shoot a couple boxes of rounds now Just seems really expensive and over priced. I wouldn't mind paying it, but the customer service is terrible! I highly recommend the range where they're friendly to spend your money! read more

It's not always how an experience starts rather how it concludes is more telling. Judy reached out to me and offered her apologies as well as offering to repair my AR. It was perfect as we were planning to be in town for Thanksgiving. Showed up at the range checked in and met with Joey and he took it from there. He repaired my AR and pretty much showed me step by step and explained the process so that I would be able to perform such a repair down the line. Literally took him minutes to get it all back together and I was able to shoot that same day. HUGE THANK YOU to Joey and Judy for fixing my fire arm. Very much appreciated!!! read more

First time going here, I had just purchased a new shotgun & wanted to run some shells through it. It was easy to find & was a 20 min drive from town. The guys at the Range house were friendly, helpful & got me all set in a few minutes. (2 quick notes, they don't sell any ammo, so bring your own, & if it's your first time you'll have to fill out a waiver). There are several range areas, most are for members as this is a gun club, but the range for guests were just fine. There are 2 lanes for shotgun range & 10-15 at the pistol range. The folks running things are friendly, personable, & helpful, they even helped me with a small hiccup with my shotgun, even though it was my own mistake & didn't make me feel like an idiot about it. I highly recommend this outdoor range & will be back again. read more

I love this place although I had been here just a few times. I prefer the outdoor shooting range versus the Indoors. We practiced shooting a 9mm. Other people were practicing with rifles, one guy an AR-15. Another guy was there with his 10 year old son, teaching him gun safety. I was impressed. This place has really become a joke. The younger guys who work in the range house are garbage, zero people skills and respect. The prices keep going up and there are so many ridiculous rules you "have" to follow. It sure seems like FRPC is all about safety while you are in the range house but once you get on the range it's a free for all. I have been a member here before, but I am no longer going back here. You don't have many choices when it comes to rifles in this area so you'll probably end up here anyway. Prices aren't bad but I wish the general admission fee was just a a tad lower. Bring your own items. No guns/no ammo offered here. Ammo rules are strict which is a little bit of a bummer for people who respect their weapons but we all know their are plenty of idiots with weapons, and the rules are there because some idiot had to mess it up for everyone. (no metal ammo allowed either) Staff is friendly and will help you out with your questions. Even had one guy break down the rifle for me to find an issue. There's usually a cat in the main entrance which has nothing to do with weapons but is rather enjoyable. Honestly have never been at a real busy time. Maybe I just go at off hours but they place is spaced out very well. Have some nice shotgun areas too. Overall not a bad place at all, could step up In a couple areas but we all know the gun industry in California isn't exactly boomin. read more
