The food and drinks were perfect. I had a half and half tea and my wife tried the latte. Both were excellent. I ordered the Italian sandwich. It was perfect on a ciabatta bun and heated to perfection. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the ham and cheese with chips and pickle spear. Both sandwiches were prepared well and garnished to perfection. Definitely a great place to stop when in Fort Payne.

Very cute coffee shop that serves small bites and pastries. Was really surprised by how amazing the ambiance inside is. You would never know from the outside that it would be so cute inside. Good selection to choose from, and they have alternative milk options. Prices are very fair. The barista was so friendly!

I knew when we pulled up that I was about to fall in love with this place! The atmosphere was amazing total vibe. I ordered the loaded avocado toast which was amazing. The brown sugar cinnamon poptart latte was pretty good, but I like mine a bit sweeter and creamier. My husband enjoyed the breakfast bagel with bacon and a banana smoothie which was pretty yummy!

We always stop here when in Fort Payne or traveling through. It's not far off the highway and well worth the detour. The best coffee in town! And a unique atmosphere. Great and friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

What a great little sandwich and coffee shop (plus so much more!) in Fort Payne, Alabama. How fortunate (or divine intervention) it was when the Sweeney's took a wrong turn on their way to DeSota Falls in 2013. 'The Spot' was born capitalizing on a vision and the faith to see it through. Hardwood floor and local art adorn the inside. Patrons can choose to sit at the soda bar, booths, tables, window seating, couches or plush armchairs while eating various choices of salads, soups, paninis, wraps, coffees, teas, frappes and shakes. A comfortable and safe hang out for the local teens but spacious and eclectic enough for all ages to enjoy. A definite thumbs up! Maybe the Sweeney's could visit Amicalola Falls and take a wrong turn to downtown Ellijay Ga!

What a gem! Stop in here on your way to Little River Falls and grab a beverage or yummy sandwich. Servers were friendly. I stayed a bit and enjoyed a Honeybee Latte and the ambiance.

Just plain!! Nothing exciting about this place. Got a BLT and it's just the ready cook Oscar Mayer bacon. They don't heat it.

And for the final one being food, honestly, McDonalds is McDonalds, the food is usually going to taste the same, but I feel like they do a great job, I think most would disagree but I think they do a great job so I'll be giving them a 4/5 Service: 4/5 Food: 4/5 Grade: 8/10 Overall, my advice for anyone eating at McDonalds, I recommend eating when the time's aren't so busy, this includes the early Afternoons, Fridays, Saturday & Sundays, that way you can get your foods fresh, otherwise, McDonalds might get your orders wrong or you may not enjoy the foods here during Busy Hours.

The ambiance is your typical Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. Our server was friendly and professional. I ordered the catfish and for my two sides, I went with hash brown casserole and turnip greens. Overall, my meal was good enough, though I was disappointed with the turnip greens. My client had the country fried steak and seemed to enjoy his meal. I also always enjoy walking around the store part of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and more often than not, I will walk out buying a few items. I would recommend checking out the specialty sodas that the store has. You will more than likely find something that will interest you. While I normally recommend seeking out a mom-and-pop local place, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is pretty consistent and the meal is decent enough. I will give it four stars overall.

Apparently the chicken was cooked the day before it was so dry, on side gravy was cold and thick they dabbed it on top and it was so thick it just laid there would not run off. So they decided let's put that gravy on top of these cold lumpy potatoes.. the green beans were good, the slaw was good, but to ruin the whole meal with cold dry chicken, lumpy cold potatoes and a gravy that I have no words for was a bad decision on their part. The biscuit was decent and the cornbread was OK. Service was fast. Totally disappointing meal. You can improve by going back to servicing a good hot freshly cooked meal. That meal wasn't cheap either! Disappointed and it's a shame because I don't give people a second chance when I spend good hard earned money on a bad meal.

Picture a place that transports you into Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. That tables are all themed according to different characters. The waitress dressed like Alice. A small store - the Rabbit Hole - where you can shop while you wait. This shop has all sorts of merchandise that is Wonderland themed (as well as some huge, excellent cake cookies). Welcome to the Hatter Cafe. This is one of two spots you see recommended for Mentone, Alabama, which is on my route from Nashville to Rome, Georgia. The drive up to the place takes up up a road with some beautiful scenery. You pass through the town of Mentone and the Hatter Cafe is on the right. This is also a bed & breakfast for those wishing to visit nearby Desoto State Park, and its falls, or Cloudlands, which is a bit further. I have included pix of the BnB. Only 2 rooms, but each has a hot tub. The menu is limited and focused, although there are ample choices for even the choosiest of guests. Not surpringly, they have an ample selection of teas (and coffee for the non-tea lover). We sat at the Humpty Dumpty table and decided on the Ribeye with both Mushroom Gravy (mine) and Peppercorn Sauce (hers). Meal starts with a salad made from local produce, which was clear from the freshness of the tomatoes. Off to a great start. Then the steak. The sauces are on the side, so you can opt in or out (in other words, don't be afraid to order one). Of the two sauces, I thought I would like the mushroom gravy more, but the peppercorn was phenomenal. Veggies also local and prepared to perfection. This is one I would gladly return to in the future and may even book a room the next time. Thanks to the staff for allowing us to preview the rooms.
