Restaurants, especially seafood restaurants, should not smell like roadside public restrooms. In a hurry, we decided to order takeout and hoped the stench was a fluke. It was not. I ordered the shrimp basket with fried okra and coleslaw. My mother ordered the chicken po'boy. Both meals were inedible (even the dogs didn't want it). The shrimp were fried to oblivion. They were chewy and flavorless, except for the taste of old cooking oil and freezer burn. The okra was soggy and cold, and the coleslaw was hot, wilted, and completely flavorless. The chicken tasted old, like it had been sitting around for a while. The fries tasted as if they had been taken from the freezer and fried half-way. They were cold and grainy. We waited 15 minutes for this obviously not-fresh fare, while employees made a show of riding a mini bicycle around the parking lot, oblivious to the patrons inside. I will not ever eat at this restaurant again, and strongly urge others to stay away.
