When…read moresomeone finally called me back, she seemed really bored and disinterested, and didn't even apologize for how long it took to get in touch. That was already a red flag for me--if it's this hard to reach someone before you even live there, I can only imagine how frustrating it would be once you're a tenant. She also said they're "really strict" about income verification and that even with solid savings, I'd still need a cosigner. That doesn't make much sense to me and seems pretty limiting, especially for people who can clearly afford the rent. Overall, the interaction just left a bad taste in my mouth.

One night my roommate and I were walking down the staircase to go to dinner and an older man and woman approached us on the staircase, screaming at us and getting in our faces. Luckily, I recorded this encounter in its entirety (I highly recommend you record all encounters because staff will not be inclined to believe anything you say). The next day, management called us accusing us of "verbally" ASSAULTING the people in the staircase, and it wasn't until I presented video evidence that the opposite took place, and following that event we did not even receive an apology for such a gross misunderstanding. Our AC went out weeks ago and I talked to Jeff but he never got anyone to come and fix it, and somehow our power bill went up that month despite air conditioning not even being in use. Our lease is up in a few days so it's not worth it to go and ask again, but they are aware we have been living without AC for weeks now. A homeless man snuck into the private parking garage, checked and robbed every car he could (INCLUDING MY OWN), and I am stuck having to pay for it. In the fine print before you move in you will be charged $1000+ and you will be led to believe this is a security deposit you will get back, but in reality those are just more secret fees and the security deposit you get back is a maximum of $350. Nowhere in the lease agreement does it say to deep clean your apartment before you move out, but I did anyways to ensure my deposit (of what I thought was going to be $1000) and I still only got half ($125) back. I should have known an apartment in sugarhouse far cheaper than the others around it was too good to be true. LIVE ANYWHERE ELSE YOU CAN! STAFF AND FELLOW RESIDENTS DO NOT TREAT YOU WITH EVEN ONE SHRED OF RESPECT!

I'm really grateful for the front desk staff. They've been really great but we're in a low-income property so everything's limited. My apartment is beautiful. I will stand by that. It is so clean because I love to clean. So if you move here and you want a nice apartment you just make a nice apartment and take care of it. It's beautiful. The views are incredible. I did do a second review. I had some smoke coming into my apartment drug smoke and I contacted the police and and they're handling it so I apologize for that because I can't take it off and I hope it doesn't affect me in any way but I was just so Disturbed. I just opened both my windows and turn on the fan and it's fine so it's a beautiful place to live and hopefully the bad people will leave and all of us good people will move in. So I'm going to go ahead and give it a good review again because it's a. I have a beautiful apartment and and that's all that matters. Thank you

I suggest moving somewhere else for the price that has a heated pool, and doesn't ban wreaths or feeding the birds, or random things from your balcony that are intended for balconies. My family has been subjected to five crimes while living here. 1. Our car was broken into in the garage. The camera footage was so poor that the manager couldn't even find it. The thief was not apprehended by the police with credit card receipts and camera footage. 2. Packages stolen from the mailroom. 3. Bitten by a large dog in the mailroom. 4. Chased by homeless right outside of the apartment. 5. Someone left a nasty sex toy on my balcony. This is an unfriendly, unsafe place to live, with poor security. There are a lot newer, nicer competitors in the area. Not to mention the ongoing construction on 21st.

It has been 45 days since she moved out, and still no refund. Their extra charges, in addition to the rent, are excessive. DO NOT RENT AT THIS DUMP! You will regret it. THIS PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE. The Charli is a DANGER,…read moregas leaks, loud partying neighbors, aggressive dog breeds, RANK sewer and trash smells. There so much wrong about the building and management and how lazy they run this joint. Let's start with the bait and switch practices. You're told rent is $xx.xx amount but will find they tack 400 to $500 more a month when you get your first rent statement. They tell you you get a concession but your bill is so absolutely confusing to the point that you just pay it so you don't have to deal with it anymore. Let's talk about the glacier pace they move at once they screw you out of your money... it takes days, nearly a full week to get things fixed. This place leaks every time it rains. Bust out the towels and prepare for a stress nightmare any time there's rain. Up at 3am sopping up water. Report it to management and you get a guy out a WHOPPING WHOLE WEEK later that says they can't find the leak. They pretend to do something and sure enough, when it rains again, your apartment and your stuff gets flooded out. Great work guys. Let's talk about the trash fees. They have garbage pick up Monday thru Friday, or so they say. You pay a fee for this every month. It takes them 4 days to pick up trash. So all your neighbors put out smelly trash in the hall ways and since they say they pick up once a day but really pick up once a week, the whole complex smells like garbage and you get to look at your neighbors rotting trash, CONSTANTLY. Your utility bills go to them first so they can re bill you and add a bunch of BS fees. Some of us have had gas leaks that resulted in having to call paramedics after reporting a gas smell and management doing nothing about it. No breed restrictions. Seen some aggressive pit bulls, there's no gym or amenities, like, what are we paying $2K+ for? Nightmare. Your lease here will be a prison sentence of anxiety. DO NOT RENT HERE!
