I first tried this spot, in May of this year. I am just reviewing it now because I have been late with my posts and have been here several times already. I enjoy all the times I have been here. The meals I have tried are the French Onion Burger, the Asian salad, the chili dog, and their stand chips and guac. I've had the french onion burger a couple times and it is SOOO good. It comes with a french onion soup to dip the burger in. I love their stand chips and guac. They give you a good amount of guac and its yum. Make sure to get some of their complimentary pickles by the register. Staff is always busy walking around and clearing tables because it can get pretty busy here. They have a nice outdoor patio with a bunch of tables to accommodate bigger parties. It is located in the Jack in the Box shopping center in Santee. Good amount of parking but can get pretty busy. Highly recommend this place. Go ahead and try it!! read more

My whole family loves this place so it's an easy choice when we're deciding where to eat dinner. My son says the ABC burger is his favorite burger on Earth. I love earning points on the app for coupons and free food. I like the French Onion Soup burger a lot but also like having other choices like the salmon bowl or Thai chicken sandwich when I'm in the mood for something different. I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. Situated in a business plaza on Mission Gorge in Santee, one can't help but notice the formidable store front, making its presence known with stylish smooth stucco and decorative rock, welcoming burger seekers to enter through the glass doors and give it a go. Upon entering I'm hit initially with how clean, airy, bright, and open the place is. Enter the door on the left and funnel your way to the order counter, easy to read menus tower above making the selection process easy. I ordered the Stand Burger - shredded lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onions, and burger sauce on a fresh Brioche bun. I paired it with fries and was impressed with selection of sauces available to have with fries. I chose Jalapeño onion and spicy honey mustard, both had great flavor. I ordered the meat "medium" and proceeded to find a place to sit and enjoy my lunch. Lots of seating, choice of booths, hi tops, or patio seating outside. Overall, excellent! I resolve to come back soon and have been thinking a lot about the Jalapeño bacon burger and a cold beer to go with it. I stopped in The Stand for an early dinner and ordered the Chimichurri Steak Salad for $15.99 plus tax. I ordered the steak to be temped at medium rare to medium. Unfortunately, after I ordered at the counter and sat down, the young lady from the counter came to me and told be that the steak could not be cooked to my desired temperature because their steak comes precooked on a package. As you can imagine, I was like "what?" I will admit, I was very disappointed that a eatery like "The Stand" does not prepare their steak to order. At any rate, since I already ordered and paid, I decided to give it a go. The salad came with marinated grilled steak, kale with a spring mix, thin green apple sticks, a touch of mint, sliced cucumber, corn salsa, cherry tomatoes, crispy quinoa, and topped with a chimichurri sauce over the steak and charred corn vinaigrette over the salad. The salad was nicely presented and the salad ingredients were fresh. There wasn't much of the charred corn in the salad, which was too bad because it was my favorite part of the salad. The dressing pretty good, but did have a sour note towards the end. The steak was okay. Cooking it twice, definitely gave it a little chewiness and the fact that it was not sliced across the grain. It's flavor was good, but I definitely would of preferred it at the very least, at a medium temperature. The young lady "Emilee" was very nice. The Stand offers a very good amount of inside and outside seating. They offer craft beers and wine. read more

I accidentally ordered the wrong salad when placing my online order. I didn't realize until I arrived that I had ordered a Southwest chicken instead of a Chinese chicken salad. I let the team know and the manager Ray had a Chinese chicken salad made for me on the spot. We have never been disappointed by the food or service at the Santee location. We've stopped by three times. Food was good. Last trip in, cashier could not effectively describe or recommend a beer. She shrugged when we asked for a dark beer like Guinness. Alright, I ate my words. I laughed at why a hamburger place would open across the street from a popular chain called In N Out. Well I was wrong. The Stand couldn't be more different. I rolled up here yesterday and perused the menu which offers a variety of options: hamburgers, sandwiches, bowls with a protein and a rice or carb, hot dogs, chili and even a Thai tea shake. This is a high end, fast casual restaurant with plenty of seating indoors and a large covered patio outside. You can order when you arrive or order through the app and pick up. There's a separate area for pick ups so you don't have to wait in the regular line. Your typical fast food experience is elevated here. After ordering and grabbing your free pickles ( next to the counter) leave your number on the table and a friendly server will bring it to you. At the register you will order all your food, including which sauces you want. Those will come out in a small plastic container. I tried the stand sauce, ketchup and Meyer lemon aioli. So delish. For our food, I tried the tuna on a brioche bun. It typically comes with a pretzel bun, but I tend to avoid those because I'm worried they'll be too thick and hard to eat? I guess I'll never know because I always alternate the bread option. The tuna was extra creamy with a lot of mayo. The arugula and red onion offset the creaminess of the tuna. Add in the sweetness of the brioche. That was a yummy tuna. I had this with a side of their regular fries. Which are the thicker kind, that are really crispy but a little soggy on the inside. My favorite kind. We also got the French onion soup. Which I totally thought was a soup in the wrong part of the menu. But nah, it's called French onion soup the sandwich because they serve it with au jous. These were delicious comfort foods. Sandwiches and burgers range anywhere from $12 and up. So it's definitely a higher price point than your typical burger across the street. I am very excited to try their chili and the havarti hamburger which will be full of mushrooms. My mom gave us a coupon for a bogo entree at the stand, so we came to try it we walked in, we stood in line for only a moment before being helped. I ordered the Havarti shropm burger, but substituted the jalapeño scallion aioli with stand burger sauce and got a side of sweet potato fries. My husband ordered the French onion soup burger and fire fries. We sat at a table on their patio. There was some music playing over the speakers and a couple tv's with sports on. The food was pretty good and fresh, except my sweet potato fries were kind of floppy. We would definitely come back again and try something else. Came in for school fundraiser. Order from the counter and food is delivered to you. Place is nice and spacious and food comes out pretty quick. We got the onion burger, havati and kids meal and it was all yummy. You can also have as much dill pickle slices from the counter. They cook the burger to your liking so that's a plus. I stumbled upon this restaurant in Newport Beach and was stoked to find out that they have one in Santee! All in all, we love this restaurant because it has something to offer for everybody in our family from hamburgers to salads to hotdog, all of the above! And the food is top-tier. I got the egg burger, which isn't my favorite other restaurants, and it measured up! My kids love both the hot dogs, and the burgers. This was my first time here. This is a newly open location. Now this is a great place to hang out with family and friends. As well as watch a good sports game. The noise a hair loud, but you really don't notice it. The ambiance is a casual sports restaurant. Very clean and filled with polite staff. Both server Mike, and behind the counter Jacie was so polite and on the ball. Jacie took the time to explain the menu and help with new membership. Yes I said membership. You can collect rewards point, and use them to discount and free items. I highly recommend joining. The food is prepare great. The Chimichurri Steak Salad was outstanding. A little heavy on the citrus side for me. But filled with flavor. The kids Teriyaki is a nice small portion for a child. Juice chicken, with a sweet sauce. The Miso Salmon Bowl, had a nice flavorful Salmon. That is what made the bowl. Now if you don't have sugar issues. I recommend the shakes. These are a nice sweet treat. You cannot go wrong with any choice. Last, if you like spices sauce. Get the Jalapeño Sauce. It's great with steak. I definitely will come back. read more

The Stand is a family friendly burger restaurant which caters to the local community by offering American classics with its own twist. You'll find the space to be ample which is good because it draws a good amount of people around dinner on the weekends, especially when there's a padres game going. There are giant TVs on the walls so everyone can enjoy something with their meal. The staff were all friendly and very polite. They have plenty of people delivering food and helping anyone who needs something. The food came out quick and was delivered without issue. The food was ok. The burgers have some amazing toppings and combinations but the patties themselves were very underwhelming. The fries were ok but nothing too special and make sure if you get fries to ask for several of the sauces they offer because you only get a very small container of sauce ( even ketchup) in each little cup with no table ketchup to be found. The best part of the meal was by far the cookies n cream shake. That was a perfectly made shake with lots of cookies. So if you're in Santee and feeling like a good specialty shake maybe try out the Stand, if you're wanting a good burger, you're better off going across the street to In-N-Out. read more

Another visit to the stand. We have gone back a number of times and had a great experience each time. Tonight we each had salads. One was the kale and quinoa crunch with chicken and the other was the steak chimichurri. They were both delicious. We've also tried the green beans and absolutely love them. Service is great. Grilled cheese is one of my favorite foods, so I'll admit I'm a bit biased--but this one was genuinely well made. The short rib was tender and flavorful, and the sandwich was perfectly grilled and balanced. Service really stood out. Everyone was very hospitable, and the people in front of me were extremely kind and even let me order first while they decided. I ordered takeout, but they still hand-delivered my food to my table, which was a nice touch. Drinks are self-serve, the bathroom code is conveniently printed on the receipt, and parking was easy. Popular chain comes to Santee, which is definitely a nice change of pace from other options in the area. Despite just opening, they've been on top of their service. So far I've been twice to this location. First time I ordered the jalapeño bacon burger, which had just the right amount of spice. I'd recommend adding a second patty if you're a big eater. On my second visit, I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich, which was good, but a little on the smaller side. All the entrees are served individually so you'll need to order sides along with it. For the craft beer enjoyers, they have a good selection of house beers and additional options. Plenty of sitting inside and out, but you'll need to plan accordingly for larger groups.
