Took my son out to have his very first cheesesteak this morning. The place is very clean and looks awesome. Multiple TVs where you can watch The World Cup, and the food was awesome. The owner could not have been nicer to a father and son just splitting a cheesesteak. He gave recommendations for our next visit and my son already asked me when we can go back. Cali Stack has become our favorite hidden gem burger spot in East County. We discovered it on a whim one day when we didn't feel like sitting in a 40 minute drive-thru line, and we're glad we did. My friends and I golf quite regularly in Lakeside. And we are always looking for a great place to eat afterwards. This place has become our new favorite. The food is fresh and delicious. The service is great... Everyone is very helpful. Inside it's very pleasant and it has lots of TVs for sports, etc. We have really enjoyed the burgers, fries, and the wings are incredibly good. We judge most places by their onion rings. These are some of the best onion rings we've had throughout the entire county. They have a large menu with lots of options. I took a couple of the cheesesteaks home for my sister and husband... And they loved them. They also have shakes, ice cream and a display case filled with these fabulous looking brownies. Can't say how good they are... Because I've been able to hold off up until now. But I'm pretty sure next time some of those brownies are coming home with me. They have beer and wine. And lots of other beverage options. They seem to have quite a number of local beers on tap. The owner said that he's starting a happy hour soon... It will be 20% off of everything from 2 to 6 PM. The person who took my order was sweet and got everything right but when I went to pick up my order it felt awkward. I ordered the grilled chicken teriyaki sandwich with no lettuce and no onion, my husband ordered the Mac n cheese chicken sandwich and we got an order of chili cheese tater tots to share. We arrived to pick up the order but we could not see a sign for curbside pickup, so my husband got out and went into the restaurant to grab the order. Our food was hot and fresh and nicely packed, although they did not give us any napkins. My grilled chicken teriyaki sandwich was delicious and I would definitely order it again. My husband's Mac n cheese fried chicken sandwich was underwhelming. My husband said that it looked like a frozen chicken patty like you'd get at jack in the box and there was barely any Mac n cheese on the sandwich. My husband said he would not order that sandwich again but he would try something else next time. We both liked the chilli cheese tater tots.
