I wish they would have had the opportunity to stay at this lodge. Beautiful grounds, huge room with deck overlooking the grounds and the lake. The room showed an attention to detail that I've not seen before and we have travelled. Bathroom was large and new and stocked with high end products. Staff were outstanding. The general manager greeted us, showed us around, and made sure we we felt at home. Breakfast was included and it didn't disappoint. Would encourage the inclusion of Paso Robles wines on their wine list (they are Nor Cal centric). Other than that, wouldn't change a thing. While in town, be sure to drop by the historic railroad depot. It's a great piece of American/Canadian history. We will be back!

Our attempt at polite conversation was shot down with chilly responses and an overall irritated demeanor. The room was odd as there was a refrigerator located by the toilet and a coffee machine adjacent. Unsanitary. There is a spooky energy as we never saw Beverly again and felt like she abandoned the place after begrudgingly meeting us for check in. No dining on the premises on the Wednesday we checked in, no food delivery allowed, and no warning to book the on premises dining in advance. According to another Yelp reviewer, the dining was not worth it to begin with. I wish we had checked Yelp before booking. Beverly ruined our stay.

There are two full sized beds in the bedroom part. The linens are nice, the decor is acceptable. It has a full size refrigerator, stove top burners, a toaster, dishes, pad, pans and flatware... the bathroom is also bed with the things you'd need... But there is a pervasive odor, very strong perfumed smell that made it impossible for my travel partner to breathe. She had to stay in the car over night. The odor seemed to be masking something and every room had their windows open, presumably for the same reason.

There were two restaurants nearby, a grocery store for resupply, and an alcohol store. For a farther walk you can find a library and a gas station with additional food options. Is a hostel an option? Yes! This morel also has a hostel with hiker boxes and a friendly dog that runs around. There is also a kayak that you can take out for free and kayak on the river behind the motel that leads to a bigger lake. Shower? Yes! Shower with towels included with actual shampoo, conditioner and body wash. You are given one toilet paper roll at a time. Beds? Yes two beds that were comfortable and for $15 extra we were allowed to have a fifth person in the room. WiFi was great and the tv had plenty to watch. Unfortunately no laundry options for hikers nor is there a laundromat in town. That was the only thing it was missing. Kitchen in the hostel.

The cottage was immaculate and was very comfortable. The owners were wonderful as well as other guests we met. Joe, one of the owners showed me the pet walking area and it was very clean and well kept. Each cottage has either a gas or charcoal grill to use. Depending on which cottage you stay in, you have either propane or a wood pellet stove for heat if needed. If you kayak or canoe, access to Moosehead Lake is just feet from your cottage. Both Misty and Joe made our dog Hank feel loved. FYI The cottage was well equipped with dishes, mugs, utensils, and kitchen gear.

I was stoked to find a place that was available for a holiday weekend and wasn't super overpriced. I outreached the owner via their contact button and got a quick response and booked the site. When we arrived we were shocked that our site was not cleared (full of weeds, tall grass and even some trash. We were on a site that was right on top of another site with an ugly old camper on it (looked haunted and abandoned). The site was the dumpiest camp site I've stayed on, and I've stayed on thousands of campsites. I feel bad writing a harsh review because the owner seemed to be super friendly. There was one bathhouse which were the only facilities in the campground. I didn't use the showers because those and the bathrooms seemed grungy. It's a great location and pretty easy to locate but I would recommend them cleaning up the sites and maybe updating a few things. The sites were too close together for my taste and again, the trash on our site was really off putting. I wouldn't go back.

For an RV & tent site it was not overcrowded. Pond for swimming and plenty of places for kids to run around. Kingfield also has a very nice grocery store about 3 miles away and a burrito stand that puts Chipolte to shame. The gaming and laundry area does have a 1970s feel and everything seems old and tired, but after 2 weeks of campsites this was one of the best because of so many things to do.
