While killing time waiting to get into our rental, our large group of 20 people looked around Trego for a place to grab a drink and a bite, and we went to The Still. It wasn't busy when we showed up, but we and a few other parties eventually filled up the place. The staff were so accommodating and didn't even bat an eye at our large group. Our bartender and server were both very friendly and attentive, we were served our drinks and our many apps and entrees flawlessly and everything was delicious. There was also a game room that kept the youngest of our group occupied, apologies for all the yells of delight from our gaggle of cousins! I ordered the jalapeño poppers and while they were good, the fry oil was a bit old so they were more brown than golden. It didn't stop me from eating them all though! I also had the steak melt - on Texas Toast - and it was incredible, really hit the spot. My husband had the bleu cheese burger and really enjoyed it. You had my husband at "bacon cheeseburger". We have been there many times and I found that their burgers are the best. They are juicy and full of flavor. The fries or tater tots are crispy and delicious! The people who work there are incredibly friendly and very welcoming. We visited with Nick who is one of the owners and he told us about how they put so much care into their food. They don't cut any corners yet the prices are very reasonable. Nestled amongst the trees, the cozy restaurant has a lovely outdoor patio where you can sit and enjoy the nature surrounding it. If you haven't tried it, go tonight! read more

Food was good if half of it wasn't cold when we got it! Around a 90 minute wait during a medium-to-slow business hour. Servers rarely visited tables, drinks were not refilled until we asked another who happened to swing by and she was very rude, passing the drink to our server so she didn't have to participate. Michelle was MOSTLY friendly when she DID come to our table, but she did not wait on us as I would have, having been a server at a ma n pop dive bar and restaurant as a teenager. We were so happy to have discovered this gem near Spooner, WI! We tried the Still burger, tots with seasoned sour cream and cheese curds and I can't recommend them enough! The burger was truly one of the best I've ever had and we come from MPLS where we have so many burger options! The service was friendly and fast and it's just a charming little spot with both indoor and outdoor seating! We will absolutely be back soon and will be bringing our family and friends! read more

Have no idea about the food quality because we never got our food, after 2.5 hours of waiting. The owner actually told us that because we had 6 people at our table, it was more complicated so they just kept putting other tables in front of ours. Once he was approached after 2.5 hours, he was extremely rude and was "offended" that we would even talk to him about the issue. The serving staff was great, but the owner doesn't know how to run a business. Would not recommended for anyone with a party of more than 2 people. Love supporting small businesses, but not ones who treat customers with disrespect when they are in the wrong. Especially when referring to other small businesses in the area as "shit-holes". read more

Never got food. Waste of a night after waiting for 2.5 hours on the Fourth of July weekend. Cannot believe when we went to talk to the owner, he told us that 2 top tables were easier and quicker to run out then our 6 person table. As someone who works at a restraunt this is not how that works and is quite frankly unacceptable. "Kitchen closes at 9", well this shouldn't be an issue since we got there at 7. Would not recommend if you're a party larger than two. Also, the one appetizer we did get, the mini tacos, are soggy. read more

Excellent addition to the area of Trego/Spooner. Restaurant and bar with burgers and sandwiches with outside seating. Most tables are tall tables but there are a few standard tables. The peanut butter burger OMG. Everyone in our party loved their food, we all got different burgers. Would come here again. Steak bites are a good appetizer to share. read more

We have dined (and drank) at the Still at least a dozen times. We were there last Saturday 7/17 and was pleasantly surprised at how well they handled the amount of customers with only a handful of people working. Our food took a little time, but when the staff is so attentative and aware of wait times, it makes it so much easier for everyone. They made sure we had a cold beverage at all times! We have been anxious to try this new place near our cabin. The remodeling they did here is amazing! I love the open seating and huge over head door to the outside space. My gin and tonic was served in a very small glass, but for $3.75 I couldn't complain. We ordered 2 burgers because we spoke to someone who had been here and highly recommended them. The cheeseburger comes with American and Swiss cheese. I asked the server if I could have pepper jack cheese and fried onions and if there would be an additional charge. She said no additional charge. There was a charge for the cheese and onions. Not a big deal, but the servers should know the correct answer. My biggest concern was the very salty hamburger. My husband and I both tasted excessive amounts of salt in our burgers. Almost like they accidentally spilled salt while making the patties. That was disappointing. Again, great atmosphere, nice servers and very fair prices. We will definitely try the food again. read more
