Some many delicious bakery choices, made fresh daily.

This ain't no grocery store, it's The Store (not to be confused with the level of pompousness that Ohio school whose mascot is a nut has calling itself "Thee"). The Store is a local neighborhood treasure much akin to a bodega that you'd find in a large urban city, and it's so much more than a grocery store. Of course they offer fresh produce and a variety of prepackaged national brand food items, but what sets The Store apart is its fresh daily prepared food items. From the salad bar, warm food bar, fresh baked goods, soda fountain and the dozens of take-and-bake food choices, this place is just different ... and so delicious. (And you've gotta try the house made restaurant style chips and salsa!!!) Hopefully my pics give you a glimpse into what's in store at The Store, but get in there and check it out for yourself. Oh, and this isn't a massive big-box store with a ginormous regional distribution center out in the middle of the desert somewhere; this is a family kitchen kinda place so don't come here thinking you'll get penny pinching bulk item prices. Freshly prepared foods take time and many hands so expect to pay a little more for the quality you're getting.

I Came here for sushi while waiting for the movie to start. I was expecting the price is dramatically higher than a regular grocery store. However, their prices are so reasonable that I can't believe it. Great location and a variety of choices. The store is clean and the food is fresh.

I happened to be at the SLC Farmers market prior to The Store's actual grand opening, but on the first official day they were open, and as a fan of the original, it only made sense to stop by and check it out! If you are unfamiliar, they are a local grocery store, with a particular focus on local, specialty, and prepared foods, and even some home goods and gift items. As soon as I walked in, I was cheerily greeted by two employees, and as I turned the corner, another eagerly offered me a complimentary bath bomb from The Soap Lady! Aw! Everyone was so nice and excited for the opening, and I could feel it radiate through the store as I shopped. As far as selection goes, this location is just like the first. It does seem smaller, I think, at least it felt like they'd packed it VERY full. I was pleased to see wonderful Jacobsen salt and seasonings, a decent, if small, selection of fresh produce, loads of prepared foods, some cute bath and body stuff and candles, and lots more! One of the best parts of The Store is their support of local businesses, and they sell so many great area goodies, including Publik coffee and granola, V and Rebecca's Chocolates, Banbury Cross Donuts, Cakes de Fleur, June Pies, Leatherby's Ice Cream, Petra's Backstubchen, Amano Chocolate....okay, clearly I'm only noticing the sweet stuff, but suffice it to say they are killing it with the local game. Lastly, they had these amazing and hilarious Utah specific re-usable shopping bags (Green Jello! Funeral Potatoes!), and they were so spot on! They'd make any Utahn laugh, and would be a great souvenir or gift for the Utah lover in your life. Checkout was quick, and they had several registers, so it should always be that way. The storefront is very attractive and regal, and I think all this new life being breathed into The Gateway is so great!

The MOST conveniently placed grocery store. You're in the middle of the mall and don't want to spend $30 bucks for a meal at a restaurant? DONT WORRY! Go to the store for a grocery shopping experience that includes tons of local products! The workers were very kind and I know to never trust gas station sushi, but the fresh sushi here you can TRUST!

Shame on The Store. Kudos for having a sign that clearly states you must wear a mask... Upon entry seeing half the patrons not wearing masks, and when I expressed concern to the 20 something cashier, the response from her was, "well you can say something if you want". Um.... NO.

Small but packed full of one of every item. Saved our day when we needed a dog leash of all things. Thank you for the convenience.

I have to reach out to the manager who gave me his card while we were doing an event at the gateway.

My mouth is watering as I write this overdue review. Caputo's was a must-stop for us on our way out…read moreof SLC, and I really wish we had something small and family-run like this in CA. The closest store I can think of that has such a wide selection of meats and cheeses is Eataly, but that is huge (and a chain) compared to Caputo's. Originally, I found Caputo's while looking for sandwich shops, but was very very happy when I found out they also offered charcuterie meats. We didn't end up getting any cheese bc of the drive, but did choose some fancy meats to bring home (black truffle salame & cabacero iberico), which were so delicious. As for the sandwiches, I went with The Caputo while my husband went with the Old School (alas I forgot to take a photo before he devoured it). The staff were efficient and our sandwiches were ready pretty quickly, even with a small lunch rush line. When I say The Caputo was one of the best Italian sandwiches I've ever had, I mean it. The veggies were delightfully fresh, the meats were aplenty, and the olive oil + balsamic was perfect without making the bread soggy. My husband also raved about his sandwich might I add. The staff were friendly, and there is a small seating area should you wish to enjoy your sandwiches next door. We also browsed around the market area and picked up some truffles and pasta flour so I could try my hand at making homemade pasta. There was so much to look at, it was like a treasure trove, but we had to be conscious of what we truly wanted to bring home vs what caught our eyes in the moment. Caputo's will definitely be one of our first stops the next time we visit SLC!

Ever since Tony died this Deli sandwich shop has been on the decline. I doubt I will ever come…read morehere again. The sandwiches are smaller, more expensive , less variety and the service was SLOW. It was 11:30 am and no lines, about 10 patrons in the whole place. Shocked to see no heavy inch traffic . I had a serving of tuna salad ($9) which was ok and $5 cheaper than a sandwich ($13). Hubby had half a Caputo Sandwich. Fountain drinks were $6!!!! There are no deli salads anymore in the sandwich shop nor in the grocery store section. All the grocery has is imported jars , hard pasta and meats. There is no longer any amazing smells of bread and spices like I've experienced in other I Italian delis and shops in many other cities. If you go there now instead of like in the "old days", which weren't so long ago. you might think it's ok but not anymore in my opinion. Tony used to be behind the counter running the show, fast service lots of people. It sucks now

Slightly disappointed with my visit here, but I had admittedly high expectations. It's tiny, and a…read morebit dark inside. They don't have a deli, no fresh food, and only a baby little freezer case. They did offer a few refrigerated cakes, a vast variety of Milka chocolate bars, one prepackaged halva, and a candy I have searched for for years called KiKi that is like a way better starburst. So they've got the sweets selection on lockdown, especially considering the space available. With that said, I missed the ubiquitous bulk chocolates most Eastern European markets offer. Additionally, they had many pickles, honey, jam, and other sweet spreads, some baking supplies, and a lot of drinks. Also a myriad of foreign magazines. Instead of a grocery, it reminded me more of a convenience store. I nearly left empty handed, but couldn't resist some beans labeled grah źućko (I have a weird soft spot for unusual dried beans, and can't say no whenever I find 'em!). From what I can tell, grah means bean, so zucko must be the variety, but I couldn't find any information about it online. Anyways, I took them home and cobbled together a sort of ham and bean soup situation, and they turned out great-with a firm exterior but tender insides, even with minimal pre-soaking. So that tells me they are very fresh. Hurrah! Prices are quite reasonable, and while service was brusque, I think that was due more to a language barrier than anything else. It's located right off Redwood Road, so easy to find (remember it's teeny-just look for the shop on the Southern corner of the shopping center). Parking spaces were plentiful. If this were the closest option I'd probably frequent it once a month or so, but as I live closer to Salt Lake, and there are several larger stores nearer, I will likely not return. Except maybe to get more KiKi candy!
