First time visiting SLC and did some grocery shopping for my room here. The location was close to my hotel and had everything I was looking for. My favorite item being sold here is the watermelon center. The best part of a ripe, juicy watermelon pre-cut and ready to eat. The employees were more than helpful in aiding me to find what I needed. The gentleman at the self-checkout also greeted me and asked me if I found everything I needed. Few other items I was able to purchase here were Fiji water, coconut water, gatorade, orange juice with pulp, strawberry jello, rice pudding, digestion/immunity shots (Suja brand), plastic eating utensils, chocolate, and Sargento triscuit/cheese snack containers. Shopping for such items helps me get through my travels with ease. I'm grateful that Walmart can be so convenient in that way. read more

I have had problems in the past where the reader wouldn't read my card. It always took a couple tries. I went in the other night and was going to pay. It wouldn't read my card. I tried for 5 minutes to get it to work and read my card. I even tried to notify an employee and they went back to another employee and kept talking with them. I continued to try for another five minutes trying to insert and swipe. I had more than enough money in my account and there isn't any wear on my card that would prevent it. It did this when my card when brand new too. I have never had this problem at other stores. I ended up having to ask someone in line to pay for me and I would pay them back for the groceries. You guys need to either get tap to pay or update your card readers. I have talked to others and multiple people mention having the same problem with the card readers. read more

This is the Walmart we normally go to here in SLC, as we lived off 1300 S for many years. It has gotten better over the years. I have been impressed with Walmart stepping up their game and quality in clothing and other products, especially in the last few years. I only visit here on rare occasion because it is never been anything but a sloppy experience. Sometimes convenience becomes important because you're in a hurry or something and that is about the only set of circumstances in which I could recommend this place. It looks like a bomb went off. It's just a big mess. It is very difficult for me to find somebody there who speaks my language. I'm all for a multilingual staff, ( I really am) but somebody needs to speak the native language proficiently so that you can ask the most basic questions. The staff doesn't know anything about their store and this puts them in a really difficult position where they're not given the tools to be successful at what they do and so they get this kind of review. There have been many times I've been in Walmart and felt like I would hate to be in the situation they are and so, while you're there, exercise some kindness and patience, despite the fact of the experience can lean on the side of infuriating . I don't think it's the employees fault. One last thing! what modern shopping outlet does not allow for electronic payments? I mean really grow up and modernize! read more

I have been waiting 4 days for my prescription at the pharmacy I have been going through withdrawals cause I haven't had it o called again. Today to get it filled and the girl in the pharmacy talked to me like I was her worst enemy all she did was talk down to me. They just lost a customer because next month I'm haveing it sent to a different pharmacy I don't recommend this place to anyone there is no reason to talk to a customer that brings them alot of money. This Walmart is close to downtown Salt Lake, and is in a somewhat gritty part of town. Store didn't feel particularly clean, and parking garage felt somewhat unsafe, and confusing where to enter. Staff were OK, however, hard to find if you needed something. Other Walmarts in the metro had a better selection and better service. read more

Outside of the business, this Walmart is HUGE and I've never had a problem with them being low on stock. Actually, this is the only location that regularly has the organic meat I like. I will choose this location everytime! They also have extra rooftop parking and an escalator! read more

As a visitor from California in town for a conference, I had the chance for a visit to this Walmart to pick up a few quick things. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at well this store is run and maintained. The shelves were fully stocked. The overall appearance was very clean and well kept. No overflowing trash cans inside or out. When I was in the parking lot, I saw multiple employees collecting trash and shopping carts. I even witnessed an employee helping an elderly couple place their items in their car when he saw they were having trouble. Speaking of employees, because I was a out of town visitor, I needed help finding a couple of things. Without fail, each time I asked about an item, the employee i asked told me the aisle number and even the exact shelf. When I followed the directions, guess what? I found my items in no time at all. Sad to say, you don't see this kind of service at the overwhelming majority of California stores. The store manager at this location should be extremely proud of his/her crew. And in my humble opinion, lots of other Walmart store managers could learn a lesson or two from this location. Just my two cents for what it's worth. read more

Not sure what the lady at the front door/self checkouts name was today manager is Samantha. I was there around 11, She wouldn't give me her name and covered her tag as I was walking out but after she accused me of stealing and rummaging through my 1 bag a 1000 times, not listening to anything that I had to say to her she just kept literally talking above me the whole time and to top it off after she was done she just left my stuff sitting out not putting it back in the bag and even dropped the white T-shirt I had on the floor leaving and walking away after she took everything out of the bag herself four different just to be sure the prices were right 4 times and then left. Every time I go to this Walmart it's something with them 2 weeks ago they lost my pictures I had made and still charged me for it I'm still disputing the whole ordeal. But for her to accuse me of stealing was when I had had it I'll never be going back to Walmart again I'll stick to online purchasing if I have to. There are about 40 self-service check-out stations and exactly one clerk manning a register. There's a long line to be checked out by a clerk; meanwhile almost all the self-service stations are available. That's because the self-service touchscreens are non-functional. I asked a service person to report to her manager that the self-service touchscreens are non-functional, and she refused to do so. She said I don't know how to use a touch screen, even though I've been using touch screens everyday since they were invented, including the self-service touch screens at other stores. It's only the Walmart touch screens that are non-functional. Anyways, it's almost impossible to buy anything at this Walmart location because they have almost no one manning the registers and the self-service stations are broken. read more

CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE IS GARBAGE. I have a major bone to pick with this location, and it just happened TODAY. I get that with COVID special precautions and measures need to be taken. I will GLADLY oblige and do what I'm told to do my part. I ALSO empathize with essential workers, as they have a large role to play. With that said, excellent customer service due to the above should NOT be lacking. Especially over something basic and simple like a SHOPPING CART. Shopping carts on both entrances were nowhere to be found. I did the next thing and asked for help. I was told by the man at the door that the carts are SUPPOSED to be there, to check the other entrance. When I explained that I had already done that, he reiterated where they were SUPPOSED to be. When I asked where I could get a cart, he told me to go outside and get my own cart. It wasn't his job to do that. I walked away, and asked SOMEONE ELSE where the shopping carts were. Same answer. She told me where they were supposed to be. It took me asking two more crew members, before a manager got involved and TEN MINUTES after I arrived before I was given a shopping cart. If customers are expected to obey policies and be extra understanding during this time, I expect the same from staff. We are dealing with an unprecedented amount of stress and turmoil. Why ruin an innocent Walmart essentials shopping trip (a rare occurrence for this anxious depressed soul of mine) just because you hate your job???? The correct answer would have been to tell me they didn't know, and help me get the answer/cart. Not give me an attitude and treat me like absolute crap. read more

Wow - As a Canadian visiting the United States, this Walmart is REALLY different from what we have back home. First off, there is a parking garage and an escalator, say what? I actually missed it the first time as I wasn't expecting a Walmart to look like this. Secondly, it's 24 hours?!? Can I get a hallelujah? The most chaotic and hopelessly inefficient Walmart.... ironically located on Hope Ave. I don't come here all that often, and when I do it's usually to pick up a couple things that: 1. I know exactly which aisle to find and 2. how much they go for. Whenever I break these two simple rules, I end up wasting a lot of my time and often leave empty-handed of what I came here to find. I don't even ask store employees for help and if you have ever tried that here you'd understand why. Back in the days they had those price checkers that made price-checking mislocated products somewhat easier but they took that away too. Surely they don't really care about your shopping experience or at the slightest want to try to improve it. Their deli workers are the worst people I've dealt with, not friendly or helpful and borderline rude just putting in the minimum effort. They couldn't tell us how much a pound of something is until we tell them the quantity so they can put it on the scale and find out the price... what? To be fair, I can't blame them entirely since they don't get adequately compensated for their time but why would these people want to work in customer service? Walmart is subpar in general but this location is beyond hopeless read more

Meth Heads congregate here on a daily basis, at all hours, so if you bring the kids down to see some Meth Heads in their natural state, this location will surely not disappoint. You can get a checklist at the entrance so you can check off each type as you progress, Meth Monsters, Tweaker Bees, Cluckers, etc... Because the store is so methy, you'll have a rather unpleasant experience regardless of the reason for your visit. Is the experience worth the savings? I came here for Deli to take lunch break, I asked for half pound potato wedge, however, the woman pick up with her own hands! She put too much...over one pound. This is my second times! I already report to manager and seen the issue isn't resolved. Now today, I see different woman work at deli, good...now I see potato wedge almost empty and it too dark due to dry...I did ask for fresh one and she immediate said, "No, we don't. Until pan is EMPTY," what the heck? I'm NOT going to eat dry one! I am leave and walk off. Second, when I'm leave Walmart with my chip (already paid) and the lady immediate yell at me, "HALT!!" Not going to lie you may or may not feel unsafe at this Walmart especially depending on what time of day you go. They have a parking garbage and elevators and entrances to the Walmart inside it, but it's not known as being the safest locations in the salt lake area. I have had to run around here a couple different times and there's always interesting characters wandering around this location so if you're a woman in general, or a woman with children, try to not go it alone to this specific location to guarantee maximum security and comfort while shopping! read more

I placed the order for a second time and again the same issue. I spoke to 5 Walmart representative today for online orders as well and no one could figure out where my order is. I came here for a pickup order for a vinyl record I ordered online. Decided to go to the store and pick it up manually and cancel my order instead as it was same day pickup, unfortunately no one could assist. They said they didn't sell vinyl records, but when I filter it online, the album I wanted in vinyl was stated to be in that store in stock, and available for same day pickup, and in vinyl. I went to customer service and they couldn't help me either. So whatever, that's fine. I realize that I'm a bit impatient, so I decided just to wait for an email notification that my item was ready by the end of the day. However, the album would not be ready that day, the following day, or the next several days. I then got a notification that my order was finally in, so I came in to pickup my order. I waited over 50 minutes. At 25 minutes I went to complain to Customer Service, and a customer service specialist got on the radio with someone who told him "the customer has to be patient." The specialist then told me this was his comanager? What the hell? Then, 25 minutes later, I was finally "helped" by an associate, and was handed a tiny package that had no room to fit in a vinyl record. It was unquestionably a CD. I then asked to speak to the manager, and the person "helping me" said no one could help me and that she had other things to do. I reiterated my need for assistance and was told I would not be helped. I then lost my temper and left the store, telling the associate that they could just keep the damn thing and return it as I did not want it. I called Walmart customer service and received a refund instead, informing them of the unprofessional service received from this store. And there goes an hour of my time wasted on nothing. I don't even think I'll do business with any Walmart ever again after this. This bad apple has really spoiled the whole bunch. read more

Not sure why the overall rating of this Walmart is low (2 stars overall at the time of this review), but I stopped by this location in late December while vacationing in Salt Lake City with my husband. We were looking to purchase an ice scraper since it started snowing quite a bit during our vacation (but ended up not needing it, but it's always good to be prepared for the just in case moments). This was the nearest location to visit and decided to come here. I thought it was nice to find out that this Walmart is 24 hours and with a covered parking lot (which is really nice because it was snowing when we came). This Walmart is actually a nice store, so again, not sure why the overall rating is just 2 stars for this location. This location is rather large and the aisles were clean. Paying for our item was quick and easy. Had no problem paying with our credit card. Then headed back to the parking lot and drove back to our vacation rental. Would come back to this location again if we were staying in Salt Lake City again. By the way, there is 1 Redbox kiosk inside in case you want to pick up a movie (or return a rental). read more

This is certainly one of the more interesting Walmart's that I've visited in many ways. It has an enclosed parking garage as well as outside parking at a higher level, accessed via a rather steep ramp with a blind bend at the top of it. I personally would not park my car in the garage for fear of my vehicle getting damaged. The upper parking has never been remotely busy when I've been, so you can park out of the way. From the upper parking there are escalators that take you down to the store itself, and of course another back up. Now you may be asking, how do I get a shopping cart up an escalator? Well this store has an interesting feature - you can put your cart on a special escalator for them and it will be carried up beside you, haven't seen that before at a Walmart! However, I'll never need it since the only time I come to this store is if I need something during work time. I work near the airport, and this is one of the more convenient places that has pretty much everything, but at most I'm only ever getting one or two items. Unfortunately, this is also one of the worst laid out and untidy Walmart's I've ever been in, and sure I don't ever have high expectations for these stores, but trying to find anything when you are used to the more conventional layout of their super-center's can be quite the adventure and trying to get a straight answer out of the staff an exercise in futility at times. I just look at it as a way to get some additional steps into my daily exercise routine, however when you're in a hurry as often I am, it's pretty annoying. read more
