Camp Woodstock is a great camp to send your kids to, though there were some problems I had with…read morethis camp. Not sure about these older posts but it was very clean, they ran a TIGHT ship my kids told me, cleaning up every single day after breakfast and things around that nature. Big "family" vibe going on at this camp, everyone is accepted. Lots of good influences for counselors, but, with that, there is some things they should work on. The bad Staff- my kids would tell me stories about camp ALL THE TIME. From when they got home, to when they'd go the next year. I did hear from them one day that two of their counselors told them about what male counselors they were "hooking up" with, this was when my kids were around ages 12-13. I feel that that's not something we should be talking about with campers. Camp rules- around when my children were 14 going into 15, they went to camp and were "yurts" (the highest age group) the girls and boys cabins were right near eachother so it was very easy to go from one to the other and I never thought that was weird. Although my daughter told me that one night as she was trying to get ready for bed, when she was walking to the bathroom a male camper tried to convince her to get into the supply closet with him to do god knows what. This is by NO means, the camps fault. I just think they should have more rules surrounding camper-to-camper interactions. Bullying- the probably worst part that somehow also occurred the same year as the previous story was when my daughter was bullied by an LIT, or "leader in training" (pretty ironic, right?). She was repeatedly called flat chested by said leader and other rude things. My worst problem with this camp is the things I hear about the counselors nowadays. My child is now 16 and is friends with an 18 year old who told us that a counselor that currently works at the camp over the summers, who was dealing with 7-8 year old boys, was sending her lewd voice messages and pictures while on the clock at camp in front of children. At night when all the kids were supposedly asleep he would speak into his phone and send her voice messages. I could only imagine what an 8 year old boy would do if he heard his counselor, his week long "role model", speaking into his phone saying such lewd things. Overall the camp is nice, maybe this was just a very unique experience.
