The coaches are great at what they do (and have amazing credentials). I have learned so much and made so much progress without feeling like I'm at a boot camp - definitely having fun in the process. Everyone is very welcoming and and friendly and are always willing to help each other out. It is not uncommon to see national level competitors fencing with less experienced fencers and helping them improve. It's also great to see the older teenagers who have trained for assistant coach volunteering to help with the younger kids and some being recruited by colleges. And it's not just for kids (there are some families who fence together, which is pretty neat), I took my first class there at the age of 30. Classes and membership are much cheaper than I expected.
