My Hot Tropic hit the nail on the wall as the sweetest of the pineapple smooths the burn of the jalapeño where it just leave the steady heat & mask the tang of tequila, definitely worth the $12 price. The drink was hand crafted by the well trained bartender who appreciates quality over quantity. It's may be a spot we visit often for a date night or maybe even check out what event or clubs are being hosted here. There is parking available in the front with some street parking & a nearby parking lot and just a couple minutes walk from downtown Etown so you can take a quick tour.

According to my friend, the have the best burgers in Etown! ‍ There are a few parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant (maybe 5, with 2-3 slots being reserved for handicap). There are nearby parking lots with plenty more parking. As it was a Sunday, we had no trouble finding parking. There were a few people ahead of us, maybe three different parties. My partner and I did not have to wait to be seated since the friends we were meeting had already arrived and got a table. We greeted our friends then reviewed the menu. Since it was around 12ish on a Sunday, only the brunch menu was available. Not long after, our waitress arrived to take drink orders. Shortly after that, and after the drinks arrived - pineapple mimosas, apple juice, and water, we ordered our food...mostly everyone had a burger. I had the Texan burger/sandwich which came on a Texas toast, hence the name, and my partner had the Newberry Smash burger (double). Each came with a choice of "regular" fries or tots. I wanted sweet potato fries, but again, since it was Sunday, only the brunch menu and what was displayed was available. So, I settled for regular fries. My burger was good albeit a bit messy with the sunny side egg running everywhere! The bacon topping the burger was perfectly done with the right crispy/crunchy consistency. My mimosas was refreshing except I did not get much of a pineapple taste. The fries were fresh and appropriately seasoned, not too salty and not too bland, just right. We were all full from our meals so we did not even consider dessert! The restaurant was busy but not overly crowded, so the atmosphere was quite. We sat by the windows and were not even distracted by the outside vehicles passing by. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and would recommend J.R. Neighbors to anyone looking for good burgers in a good atmosphere in Etown.

The sauce they use is very flavorful with the pickles, cheese, and lettuce enhancing the taste of the burger. I highly recommend. Hubby got the American Smash and really enjoyed his as well. If we were staying in the area longer, I would come back to try other food and play some of the games.

The bartender, Jake, was phenomenal--friendly, attentive, and helped make it a great experience for my group and me. Because of that positive first impression, we decided to come back. Unfortunately, our second visit was a completely different experience. We were served by Lily at the bar, on Monday night, June 8, and from the moment we sat down, it felt like she did not want us there. She had an unfriendly attitude throughout our visit, and when we asked for our check, she slammed it down on the table. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was that our group, which consists entirely of minorities and Servicemembers, noticed that she appeared significantly more attentive and welcoming toward other customers who were Caucasian. While we cannot speak to her intentions, the difference in how we were treated compared to others around us was noticeable and left us feeling unwelcome. It was disappointing, especially after how much we enjoyed our first visit. One outstanding employee brought us back, but one negative interaction was enough to make us decide not to return.
